Caddo County - Newspapers Submitted by: Sandy Miller ====================================================================== Anadarko Democrat July 21, 1904 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- TEN YEARS OLD BOY MURDERER Shoots Harry Willis in Brain -- Willis Still Alive News reached this place of a shooting affair northwest of here near Boise (in Caddo County) the first of last week. A boy by the name of SMITH, age 10, without it seems the least provocation, shot and mortally wounded little 11 year old HARRY WILLIS. The shooting occured at the Willis home one and a half miles northwest of Boise. The Smith and Willis families live across the road from each other and of late the boys have been quarreling. Last week both the Smith and the Willis families were at a school election and left the boys at home. It is reported that the Smith boy was working in the field and along in the middle of the afternoon he went to the house, took a 22 target rifle and went over to the Willis home and hunted up the Willis boy and shot him. The ball entered the skull above the left eye and lodging in the brain. A physician was called and after examining the wound pronounced it fatal. The boy was still living when last heard. ================================================= July 28, 1904 page 6 column 1 In justice to Mr. Wheatly we print his statement that he has at no time offered any objections to his daughter living with Mr. Logan Billingsley if she so desired.
