Celebration of Statehood, 1932
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Picture of the celebration of Oklahoma Statehood Day in front of the Oklahoma Historical Society Building in Oklahoma City November 16, 1932.   Anna C. Bennett nee Trainor represented the bride in the original ceremony in Guthrie, Oklahoma November 16, 1907 and Mr. C. G. Jones was the groom.

She reenacted the ceremony in this picture 25 years later in Oklahoma City.  She represented Indian Territory in the original ceremony.  She was 1/16 Cherokee Indian and married then to Leo E. Bennett a prominent member of the community and friend of Governor Haskell.

This is the picture:  Left to Right - Unknown Woman, Gen R. A. Sneed (groom), Anna C. Bennett (then Mrs. Warren Butz) (bride), Unknown Man.

Anna was my grandmother.  I thought you may want to have it on your website.
