Banner School - 1905
located southeast of
Noble, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma

This picture belonged to my grandmother, Jessie May Ward.  The school teacher was Mr. Cheatwood.   Jessie stood in the middle, back row, right of the tallest boy, white dress.  She was born in Tishomingo in 1891, died 1986. The family lived at the southeast corner of 120th and Slaughterville Road, southeast of Noble.  The house still stands in 2008. The boy in the left section, fifth boy to the right in the second row is Elmer Ward, Jessie's brother.  He was in the Navy during World War I and died in Oklahoma City.
