Contributed by Rich Vincent

This photo was taken in the late 1890's at the Bent Creek homestead of Nicholas B. Vincent (or, perhaps, the adjacent homestead of his son, Hiram J. Vincent), about 2.5 miles southeast of the present Vici, Dewey County.  The Vincents established the Vici post office at Bent Creek.

Musicians, from left to right:  Nicholas B. Vincent (1837-1919), probably Albert Vincent of Bent Creek(Vici), Hiram J. Vincent (1864-1943), and John Brown Vincent (1879-1953).

In doorway of sod house:
outside, woman facing left--Clara L. (Vincent) Lang (1867-1902)
outside, girls facing right or doorway--probably 2 of Clara's daughters
     outside, boy facing doorway--unidentifiable
inside, man--Horace G. Lang of Custer Co., NE
     inside, woman--unidentifiable
