Joe Strode and Jessie Ward Mock were the grandchildren of Newton J. and Norma America Sisk. Joe was the son of Dora Ward and Jessie was the daughter of Marcy C. Ward. They lived at the corner of Slaughterville Road and 120th S.E. of Noble. Jessie's home still remains. Joe's home was just south of it. Many families divided up acreages to other family members. Joe was apparently in the 23rd infantry of Army, probably World War I.
