Cromwell Family Taken about 1939
Sulphur, Murray County, Oklahoma

 
My Grandfather, James Gaston Cromwell, is the one sitting on the front row, holding the little boy.  His father, Sheldon Winfield Cromwell, owned a grocery store in Sulphur, Murray County, Oklahoma.  I believe it was on 12th Street.

Theresa Cromwell

Theresa Cromwell was born August 30, 1909 in Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma.  She died August 4, 1978 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.  She is buried in Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Norman, Oklahoma.

Theresa was the daughter of John Caraway "Johnny" and Effie L. (Turner) Cromwell, and the Granddaughter of John Stewart and Elizabeth Jane (Jones) Cromwell.

Theresa never married.  She graduated from Norman High School in 1928 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Library Science.

She worked as a Librarian for Phillips 66 Oil Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and retired from there. She moved back to Norman in 1973 where she lived with her Aunt, Mrs. Irene Kimmons.
