Funeral services for Mildred P. ALEXANDER, 92, of Spiro were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro with the Rev. Wesley McLaughlin officiating. Burial was at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs, ALEXANDER was born on March 14, 1920, in Bloomington, Ind., to William Wesley SCOTT  and Mary Anne (PUCKETT) SCOTT. She died on Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Spiro. She was a homemaker and member of Eastern Star. Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ann JENKINS and husband, Tony in Terre Haute, Ind. and Linda Jimeia HERNANDEZ of Spiro; one son, James Edward ALEXANDER Jr. of Van Buren, Ark.; two sisters, Emma DECKARD and Jo Ann ALEXANDER, both of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James ALEXANDER; one daughter, Barbara SCHROEDER; one brother, George SCOTT; seven sisters, Helen BRUMMETT, Ruth DUBOIS, Mary HAWKINS, Norlea OLIVERO, Jane SCOTT, Roxy KIMBERLY and Pauline LENTZ;  two grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.  Pallbearers were Ardis Dees Sr., Ardis Dees Jr., Gregory Dees, Brandon Dees, Tyler Schroeder, Thomas Dees and Kevin Perry.

Juanita REED CARLILE, 94, of Warner passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, in Muskogee. She was born on June 12, 1919, in Ione, Ark., to Herbert SLAUGHTER and Susie (Dove) SLAUGHTER. Juanita graduated from Sallisaw High School and Draughon's Business College. She met and  later married Foreman CARLILE on Nov 29, 1939, a union of 53 years. Juanita and Foreman made their home in Sallisaw, then Vian and finally Warner, never far from the family in Sequoyah County. She worked as a secretary at Camp Gruber during World War II and helped run their cattle ranch while Foreman served in the Pacific with the U S Navy. Juanita also operated the Warner Drug Store after she and Foreman bought it and moved to Warner. Juanita  later worked for the City of Warner as City Clerk. She also was a member of the Warner United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities, including chair of the Administrative Board. Juanita was a member of the Warner Rebekah Lodge, the United Methodist Women and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Susie SLAUGHTER; her husband, Foreman CARLILE; brother, Kelly SLAUGHTER; and Sister Lois HAMMETT.  She is survived by her daughters, Margaret CARLILE and Beverly  CARLILE; son-in-law Wendell KARR-AKE, all of Warner; son Jim CARLILE and wife Paula of Edmond; brother, Randy SLAUGHTER and wife, Edna of Tulsa; sister, Sue WILSON of Broken Arrow; grandsons, Jason KING, U S Army South Korea, Jim CARLILE of Washington, D C, Kevin GOURD of Park Hill, Andrew CARLILE of Salt Lake City, Utah; grand-daughters, Louisa JEFFRIES of Homewood, Ala., and Susan TAYLOR of Winchester, Ore.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday  at Cornerstone Funeral Chapel in Muskogee. Interment will follow at Gore Cemetery in Gore. Pallbearers will be Jason King, Paul Carlile, R$obert Carlile, Dave Wilson, Brian Thompson and Ken Hodges. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Murch, Don Morton, A J Henshaw, Ed Henshaw, Richard Ralls, Genie Thompson, Bill Gardner, Mackenzie Enright, and Anna Lou Muskrat. Funeral services for Billy Joe CHRISTIE, 58, of Bunch were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Marble City Gymnasium with the Revs. Johnny Flute and Missy Flute officiating. Burial was at Flute Springs Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr CHRISTIE was born on Oct 7, 1953, in Tahlequah to Isaac CHRISTIE and Betty (FLUTE) CHRISTIE. He died on Friday June 29, 2012, in Sallisaw. He was a general laborer at Cellofoam. Survivors include one sister, Carolyn BALDRIDGE of Bunch, two brothers, Monroe CHRISTIE of the home and Woodrow CHRISTIE of Vian and several other family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Fedro CHRISTIE. Pallbearers were Mike Steeley, Zeke Mockincin, Boogie Flute, Winterhawk Grimmett, Rodney Pettit and T J Steeley.

Don Earl DRAKE, was born on March 8, 1937, to John   Manuel  and Augusta Mae(GANN) DRAKE in Sallisaw and passed away on Saturday. June 30, 2012, in Sallisaw at the age of 75 years. He went to Buffington Schools until the eighth grade and came to Sallisaw Schools in the ninth grade. While attending Sallisaw School he played football until he graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1957. On July 25, 1955, in Stilwell he married LaJuana Janet DAVIS. There were married 56 years until she passed away, on May 4, 2012. They had two daughters and one son, Donna Kay ARMSTRONG is their oldest child, married to Ralph ARMSTRONG, Charles David  DRAKE is their middle child with Carol,  their youngest was Janet Sue "Susie" TAYLOR married to Jeff TAYLOR, two other children, Megan SORENSON of Sallisaw and Ethan DRAKE of Eminence, Mo.  They have five grandchildren, Kayla, Keitha, Drew, Jacob and Jordan. They also have four great-grandchildren, Alaysa, Aleigha, Kaydence and James. Don has a brother, Vilas DRAKE and sister Billie Rose FROST, both of California. Has two brothers and two sisters that have passed and they were W O DRAKE, Charles Manuel DRAKE, Nadine JOHNSON and Emma Gean AUSTIN. Don has one very special cousin, Lahoma DRAKE KUYKENDALL. He also has several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.  When Don and LaJuana moved to Edmond he drove a truck for Coca-Cola, and later worked for Wonder Bread. As a child he started riding horses for a trainer in Sequoyah County and this lead to the career that lasted for the rest of his life. For many years he would train horses during his spare time while delivering bread around the Oklahoma City Area. Around 1975, he decided to train race horses fulltime and began to establish their own business know as Drake's Racing Stables with his wife, LaJuana. During this time he became a leading trainer at Blue Ribbon Downs several times. He never really retired but turned the business over to his son David and continued to give advice on the horses until his passing.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial will follow in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Born in Roland on May 12, 1932, died on Monday, July 2, 2012, in Frisco, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Peggy WILSON HALL'S gusto for life was contagious during her battle with cancer with optimism towards the future, she moved to Texas to be with her daughter and son-in-law. Peggy had a zest for life that included her love for travel. She traveled much of the world with her husband, Bud. Her travels included a childhood dream to see Switzerland, and homes in France and Japan. During the last year of her life she fulfilled her lifelong dreams; Peggy was able to dance at her granddaughters wedding in Sonoma, "Calif., and just a few weeks prior to her death she spent her final Hoorah to Las Vegas.  Visitation with family and friends will be held at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Ark., from 3 to 7 :30 p m Thursday.  Graveside services  will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Margie HILL and her husband, Terry of Frisco,  and her granddaughter, Jessica PIERCE and husband Ty of Fort Worth, Texas, Stepdaughter, Norma BURLESON and her husband, Wayne; step-grandson, Brian HOPKINS, all of North Carolina; a brother, Bob WILSON and wife Ruth of Roland; sisters, Glenda ROWLAND, Judy WILSON and husband Joe, of Roland, Mary HAMILTON and husband, Bill of Fort Smith. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. Jackie Madden officiating under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.Mrs. HULSEY was born on Aug 17, 1943, in Erie, Pa., to Ward SWAN and Lois Aretha (HOOVER) SWAN. She died on Sunday, July 1, 2012, in Norman. She married Tommy HULSEY in Reno, Nev., in 1972. Survivors include her children, Lynn WOOD, Tina TREECE, John HULSEY and wife, Lynda, Karen PETERS and husband, Bill, Barbara MADDEN and husband, Clint, Jim  MOOERS and wife, Robin, Joey MOOERS and wife, Sabrina, Donna BEAVER, Candy RAMSEY and husband, Kelly; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry SWAN; and a sister Areatha KACHEL.

Funeral services for Martha Ann EPPLER McGOWAN, 77, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Bro. Ted Eppler officiating. Burial was at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. McGOWAN was born on Feb 12, 1935, in Sallisaw to Bill EPPLER and Delia (HALSE) EPPLER. She died on Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Sallisaw. She was a retired sales representative for a pharmaceutical company. She married Clayton McGOWAN in 1952. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1980.  Survivors include one son, Ronald McGOWAN of Big Cedar; one sister, Ruby HENRY of Sallisaw; four brothers, Ted EPPLER,  Billy EPPLER, Calvin EPPLER and Carl DUNN, all of Sallisaw; four grandchildren; and one great-grand-child.  She  was also preceded in death by one son, Dewayne McGOWAN; her parents; one sister, Betty Oleta LUKEHART, and one brother, Roy EPPLER.   Pallbearer were Ron McGowan, Joseph Guzman, Derek McGowan, Clifford Eppler, Curtis Eppler and Phillip Henry.

Funeral services for George Artist OWENS of Roland passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at home in Roland at the age of 70 years. He was born on Feb 14, 1942, in Crawford County, Arkansas, to Ruben Artist "Sonny" and Ila Mae (COOKSEY) OWENS,  Survivors are his wife, Susan of the home; two daughters, Lisa OWENS,  of Fort Smith, Ark., and Monta CALEY and husband, Patrick of Oklahoma City; one son, Donny ANDERSON and wife, Vicki of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Arti PRUITT of Gans, Linda STANFORD of Mulberry, Ark., and Karyon COYNOR  of Longview, Texas; four brothers, Jimmy OWENS,  of Proctor, Ronnie OWENS  and Bobby OWENS, both of Redland and Jackie OWENS  of Gans; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a baby sister. George was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. His life  was an example to those he loved. He believed in hard work. He was a Believer in Christ. He left this world softly and peacefully between midnight and dawn after a courageous fight with cancer, even though here on earth it appears George  lost the battle, He is Victorious in Christ.   Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Roland. Burial will follow in Gans Cemetery under the direction of Agent-Mallory-Martin Funeral Home. Pallbearers were wesley Pruitt, Jimmy Owens Jr., Patrick Caley, Taylor Coynor, Mac Thompson and Leroy Riggs.  Honorary pallbearers his brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Terry Lee TREADWAY, 54, of Spiro are being held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro with Shannon McClary officiating. Funeral services for Raymond Gale BOATRIGHT, of Roland were held at 3:30 p m Saturday at Roland Church of Christ. Burial was at Roland Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of For Smith, Ark., Mr.BOATRIGHT was born on April 26, 1915, in Wichita, Kan. He died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served in the Pacific. He worked in construction, sold lumber and was in the grocery business. He was a member of the Roland Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 52 years. Survivors include two sons, Ronald BOATRIGHT and wife, Roz of Denver, Colo., and Jim BOATRIGHT and wife, Nickey of Fort Smith; one daughter, Gail RUSSELL and husband, Dr  Jerry RUSSELL of Roland; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Maxine (BOWLIN) BOATRIGHT and his parents, Beulah and Guy E TAYLOR.  Pallbearers were Chuck Russell, Eddy Russell, Harold Slate, Gerald Cowens, Art Beaty and Darnell Blaine.

Graveside services for Robert Lee "Bobby" BOOZE, 69, of Vian will be  held at 10 a m Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian with LeRoy Yarborough officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.  Mr BOOZE was born on Oct 20, 1942, in Muskogee, to Mike Ferguson BOOZE and Mary Elizabeth (DUDLEY) BOOZE. He died on Monday, July 9, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.  He was a security officer. Survivors include one daughter, Robin BOOZE of New Albany, Miss.; one son, Bryan BOOZE of Gans; four sisters, Sharon TEAGUE of Red Bluff, Calif., Carol BIXBY,  of Oklahoma, Judy BOOZE of Topeka, Kan., and Cheryl UTLEY of San Bernardino, Calif.; three brothers, Warren BOOZE of Tulsa and Jerry BOOZE and Gary  BOOZE, both of Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. He was  preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul DUDLEY and Charles BOOZE.

Funeral services for Nathaniel L. CATLETT, 93, of Roland are being held at 10 a m Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow with Pastor Shaw Money officiating.  Burial is in Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.  Mr. CATLETT was born on Aug 5, 1918, in Sugar Grove, Ark., to Gerome  CATLETT and Rosie Ella (WEAVER) CATLETT. He died on Monday, July 9, 2012, in Roland.  He married Lelan Lucille Rowland on Sept 16, 1934, in Vian.  She preceded him in death on Oct 16, 2011.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Glena and Marvin JARRATT of San Angelo, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and JoAnn CATLETT and Harold and Kathy  CATLETT all of Montgomery, Texas; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several other family members and friends.  He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Imogene; his parents; two sisters, Virgie McCONNELL and Delilah VESSELL; and three brothers, Sherman, Harrison and Vester CATLETT.  Pallbearers are his grandchildren, Steve Catlett, Gary Treat, Dennis Treat, Kevin Treat, Kimberly Dean and Timothy Jarratt. 

Graveside services for Cleo ELLIS, 91, of Sallisaw are being held at 10 a m Wednesday Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw with the Rev David Harris officiating under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.  Mrs. ELLIS  was born on Feb 22, 1921, in Sallisaw to Bud Bethel FITSIMMONS  and Alice Hesterann (MAULDEN) FITZSIMMONS. She died on Sunday, July 8, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.  She was a homemaker. She married Wesley William ELLIS JR., on Nov 26, 1938, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death in 1984. Survivors include five daughters, Jo Ann RICHARDSON, Jill OWENS, Kay LINTHICUM and Tammy SIMMONS, all of Sallisaw; three sons, Henry Mac ELLIS, Mitchell ELLIS  and Scotty ELLIS, all of Sallisaw; 23, grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and several other family members and friends.  She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Terry ELLIS; one daughter, Jidy SIMMONS; her parents; five brothers; and five sisters.

Benny Butler GARVIN was born April 29, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Herbert Dale GARVIN and Mary Willene BUTLER GARVIN. He passed this life on July 5, 2012 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 52 years, 2 months and 6 days. Survivors include his mother Mary GARVIN of Tulsa,; his father, Herbert GARVIN of Sallisaw; one brother: Gene GARVIN of Broken Arrow; one niece: Miranda GERKEN of Broken Arrow and two nephews: Shawn GARVIN and Dylan GARVIN, both of Keller, TX;  Graveside services  were held Monday, at 9 a m  at Akins Cemetery with Rev Monroe Lowrimore officiating.  Services are under the direction of Agent-Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Viewing  was Sunday from 2-8 pm.

Wilma Norvella ATCHLEY MOONEYHAM passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at home. She was a lifetime homemaker and rancher's wife and member of Willing Workers Club for many years and the Red Hatter's and Mt Zion Baptist Church.  Wilma was born on March 9, 1911, in between Lariat and Farewell, Texas to Raymond 'Cecil" and Vernie  "Myrtle" (COOKE) ATCHLEY. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Simon MOONEYHAM in July 1999, her parents and one sister, Rose.  Jimmie and Wilma were united in marriage on May 6, 1950, at West Camp Baptist Church in West Camp, Texas.  Survivors include her sons, Jimmie "Don" MOONEYHAM and Terry Wayne MOONEYHAM, of Miami, two daughters and their husbands, Peggy and Benny ELLIOTT and Barbara and Phillip McMAIN of rural Miami; five grandchildren; Blake ELLIOTT and Breanna ELLIOTT,  Chad McMAIN and wife, Aimee and Nickie MCMAIN RHINEHART and husband, Jack all of rural Miami; and Adrianna MOONEYHAM of Miami; five great-grand-children, Bailee McMAIN, Kenadee and Maycee RHINEHART, Zackary  McMAIN and Nickolas McMAIN, all of rural Miami; two sisters, Shirley CALOWAY of Bovina, Texas and Cora Sue STEWART of Fritch, Texas; and three sisters-in-law, Frieda RAMM and husband Fred of Carthage, Mo., Betty FUDGE of Kempner, Texas and Mary Lou RAMM of Sallisaw.  Visitation will be 5 50 7 p m Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. Funeral services will be 10 a m Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Chad Eads, Ed McFall and Rhonda Nash will be officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews. Funeral services for Buhl Vester NICHOLS, 78, of Sallisaw are being held at 1 p m Thursday at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Vondel Davenport officiating.  Burial is in the U S National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. NICHOLS was born on March 13, 1934, in Magazine, Ark., to Elmer NICHOLS and Dovie ROBINSON. He died on Saturday, July 7, 2012, in Fort Smith. He worked for Whirlpool.  He married Roberta Ann DENKER on July 17, 2005, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" NICHOLS of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie MAR of Tulsa and Darla and Major Jeffery Carl HAMMOND of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; one son Kevin William BRUCE of Sallisaw; three sisters, Nora Ruth STIDD, Hilda SLEDGE and Netha Mae ATHEY; one brother, Vondel DAVENPORT of Charleston; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Larry FLETCHER, Frankie Don HALL and Clifton NICKLES.

Funeral services for Pauline PHILPOT will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 2 pm at the Apostolic Faith Church in Sallisaw. with Bro Bryan Duke and Bro Curtis Bias officiating, under the direction of Agent and Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.  Burial will be in Brushy Cemetery north of Sallisaw. Mrs PHILPOT  was born October 16, 1921 in Keota, Oklahoma, the daughter of John Albert Warren CRAWFORD and Nellie Flossie Allen CRAWFORD. She married Elzie Drannon PHILPOT on June 2, 1940 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mrs. PHILPOT was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She passed this life on July 9, 2012 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 90 years, 8 months and 23 days. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Robbie PHILPOT of Sallisaw; four grandsons, Jimmy PHILPOT of Greenwood, AR, Bobby Jack PHILPOT of Sallisaw, Brent Lee PHILPOT of North Little Rock, AR and R D. SMITH of Athens, TX.; 10 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers in law: Mary and Leroy JOHNSON of Woodward, OK and Bertha and Wayne LAND of Sallisaw, OK; one brother and sister in law: Raymond and Jerrye CRAWFORD of Collinsville, OK She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents,  three sisters, Geraldeene RISENHOOVER, Lorene SHAW and Myrtle TEAGUE  and three brothers: Major CRAWFORD, Johnny CRAWFORD  and Alvin CRAWFORD.  Viewing was Tuesday 8 am -8 pm.  Pallbearers were grandchildren.

Lavern STEPHENS was born March 8, 1929 in Watts, Oklahoma, the son of Jess STEPHENS and Mabel JOHNSON STEPHENS. He married Etta Mae (BOND) STEPHENS on February 18, 1952 in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was a Holiness Minister for 65 years and a Propane truck driver for Synergy. Rev. STEPHENS passed this life on July 7, 2012 in Roland, Oklahoma after having attained the age of  83 years, 3 months and 29 days. Survivors are: wife: Etta Mae of the home; two daughters, Donna Lavern CHOATE of Mulberry, AR  and Marsha MORGAN of Muldrow, OK four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two sisters: Carolyn IGO of Westville, AR  and Mary Ellen LONG of Westville, AR;  one brother, Norman STEPHENS of Oklahoma City, OK several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents and  one brother: Melvin WALDRON.  Pallbearers are Jim Satterfield, John Bond,  Barry Tabor, Kyler Morgan, Jonathan Firestine and Norman Cogburn. Garney H CHRISTOPHER, 86, of Sallisaw, formerly of Muldrow, passed this life on Monday, July 9, 2012, in Sallisaw. He was born on Nov 17, 1923, in Muldrow, the son of Fred CHRISTOPHER and Nina (HAIL) CHRISTOPHER. He married Doris Lea GREEN CHRISTOPHER on May 30, 1947, in Fort Smith, Ark. She preceded him in death on Feb 29, 2004, in Fort Smith. They were married for 56 years.  Mr CHRISTOPHER was the owner and operator of Pioneer Furniture and a rancher. At the age of 18 he was drafted into the U S Army where he served during World War II with Gen George Patton's Western Task Force, which successfully invaded North Africa, and in Patton's 11th Armored Division, 3rd U S Army, which invaded France and German, liberating concentration camps along the way. When he was discharged in 1946, he had attained the rank of staff sergeant and earned the Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge, First Award, the Honorable Service Lapel Button, the Army of the Occupational Medal with German Clasp, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two  Bronze Clusters, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was unaware of the medals he earned until February 2010, 65 years after  World War II. Through the efforts of several agencies, legislators, friends, and family members, they were presented to him  in a surprise ceremony  at the Sequoyah County  Courthouse in Sallisaw.  Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ron GIRLINGHOUSE, of Fort Smith; one son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Tammye CHRISTOPHER of Sallisaw; four grandchildren, Chris and Toka NELSON of Sallisaw, Blake and Ruth NELSON of Warner; Scott CHRISTOPHER of muldrow and Lindsey CHRISTOPHER of Tulsa; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trevan, Creed, Chloe, Paisley, Brigham and Logan; one brother and sister-in-law,  Kenneth and Jean CHRISTOPHER of Muldrow; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Tommie CHRISTOPHER; his parents; and two brothers, T W and Dale CHRISTOPHER. Funeral services were held at 10 a m Thursday at the Agent and Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was in Gans Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Active pallbearers were Scott Christopher, Chris Nelson, Blake Nelson, Logan Tabor-Christopher, Marty Gilstrap and Kyle Gilstrap.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Olen KING, daughter, Swann KING HALL  and husband Jackie of Sallisaw; sons, Johnie KING and wife, Sue of Nashville, Tenn., and Ricky KING and wife, Rita of Bald Knob; grandchildren, Don MORGAN, Debi DAVIS and Danny MORGAN, all of Sallisaw, Leigh Ann CLABORN of Branson, Mo., Darin MORGAN of Fort Smith, Ark., Jackie HALL Jr of Broken Arrow, DeShawna BARRON  of Sallisaw, Shawn Hall of Branson, Zake KING of Nashville, and Angela BROWNDERVILLE  and Shannon HAZELWOOD, both of Bald Knob; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a niece, Iris JOHNSON (COOK). She was preceded  in death by her parents, a brother, Shannon JOHNSON; and a nephew, George Sydney JOHNSON.

He married Minnie Edmee CRAWFORD on April 22, 1944, in Sallisaw. She preceded him in death on Dec 27, 2010. Survivors include one daughter, Carol ICE of Nampa, Idaho; one son, Eddie ROBERTSON of Tulsa; and five grandchildren.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters, Gilbert, Lillian, Watie, Joe, Felix, Ben, Ethel, Roy, Edna, Iva and Mayme.  Pallbearers will be Vernon Drain, Joe Drain, Felix Choate, Dan Ollie, Jimmy McClendon and Ted Stamps

Graveside services for Jeanne PATTON SCHIRMER,  are being held at 11 a m Friday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Moore Funeral Home of Tulsa.  Jeanne SCHIRMER 90, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her home in Tulsa, Jeanne was born on May 2, 1922, to William DuMONT and Prudie (HICKS) PATTON in Muldrow. She graduated from Cleora High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Miami. Jeanne later  worked at McDonnell Douglas, where she met and married D E SCHIRMER on July 18, 1943. She was a realtor, homemaker, loving mother, great friend, fabulous cook and a terrific dancer. Jeanne was very devoted to her family, always hosting family parties and cooking up her famous fried chicken, chocolate cake or spaghetti. She was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. She was also a tireless volunteer giving of her time, talent and money.  She volunteered at the nursery and answered phones for Boston Avenue, danced in the Red Glove Revue for Cerebral Palsey Association, volunteered at Meals on Wheels and the DVIS Shelter, picking up and driving for the women in need. She became an active volunteer for the Salvation Army and each month she baked homemade cakes for the Salvation Army, Adult Rehabilitation Center's banquets honoring the men achieving sobriety awards. She was also active in the  United Methodist Women and served at the Rotarian's luncheons to help raise money for missions. She also enjoyed traveling.  Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Sharon THOMPSON of Tulsa, and Susan and Ralph HENDREX, Jean Ann and Chris BRINLEE, all of Catoosa; grandchildren, Laura and James McCLAIN of Skiatook;  Katie ANDERSON of Tulsa, Liegh BRINLEE and Sarah HENDREX, both of Catoosa; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Riley and Mikala, and several other family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Louise BARKSDALE; her husband and a nephew.

Mr SMITHPETERS was a retired from the State hospital in Porterville, Calif., where he was an equipment operator. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Viola; two sons, Ralph SMITHPETERS  and wife Sheryl of Elm Springs, Ark. and Greg SMITHPETERS of Siloam Springs, Ark.; daughter, Kathy COPELAND and husband, Jack of Sallisaw; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James BOGGS; and a son-in-law. Mary Ola BLOXOM HOLLAND, 68,  formerly of Mena, Ark., died on Friday, July 6, 2012, in Panama. She was born on Feb. 25, 1944, in Virginia to Rufus and Ola (HIGDON) BLOXOM. He died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in Cherokee.  He worked in several trades ranging from nursing, carpentry, apartment management, cross-country truck driver, farming and in the oilfield. He enjoyed caring for the elderly, fishing, gambling with his daughters and relaxing on the front porch, and spending time with his family. He was a proud member of the Cherokee Tribe. Survivors include his wife, Angie of the home; children, Anna LOPEZ and Donna IRVIN, both of Cherokee, Lindsey McHENRY and Anghelina (Nae) McHENRY of Oklahoma City and Michael McHENRY of the home; siblings, Larry and Billy, both of Sallisaw, Tommy and Sharon both of Van Buren, Ark., Dale of Dewey, and Wilma of Roswell, N M; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Doyle Kenneth "Ken" MOORE, 74, of Sallisaw passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Ken was born on April 17, 1938, in Spiro to Andrew Cleveland and Nancy(SMITH) MOORE. He was an upholstery instructor at Northside High School in Fort Smith. He was a veteran of the U S Navy. Ken loved praising the Lord with his harmonica. Catfishing was a serious business for him. He loved hunting and fishing the woods and waterways of southeast Oklahoma. But the great love of his life was his wife of 53 years, and the Christian family they created together. We will all miss him.  Ken was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Vance and Joe MOORE; and three sisters, Mildred BROWN, Vera HAMILTON and Viola JOHNSON. Survivors include his wife, Paulette; sons and daughters-in-law; Kenneth paul "Kep" and Beverly MOORE of Sallisaw and Johnny Lee and Elizabeth Nell MOORE of Bentonville, Ark.,; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Ruth and Joe POWERS of Poteau; nieces, Sherry Jo, Diana, Martha, Theresa and Ann; nephews, Paul, Randy, Joe T., Sam Jr., Larry and Coy; sister-in-law and husband, Lola and Jim SADLER; and other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.  Services were held at 2 p m Sunday, July 15, 2012, at New Beginnings, Assembly of God Church in Murry Spur with the Rev Kenith Bynum and the Rev. Survivors include one son, Ira WOFFORD of Muldrow; two sisters, Helen GEORGE of Roland and Sue GARDNER of Fort Smith; and one grandson. Brenda Kay CORLEY, 66, of Roland was born on April 23, 1946, in Nashville, Tenn  to Everett BAKER and Lucille (BYNUM) BAKER. She died on Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. No formal service is planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. CORLEY was a homemaker.  Survivors include one daughter, Marsha McCLURE of Muldrow; one son, Billie and Raylynda WIERSEMA of Fletcher; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James CONLEY; her parents; and one brother, Everett BAKER Jr.

Graveside services for Cleo GILBERT Jr, 41, of Roland will be held at 7 p m Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. GILBERT  was born on Sept 2, 1970, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Frankie Cleo GILBERT Sr. and La Donna Sue (GARNER) GILBERT. He died on Friday, July 20, 2012, in Muldrow. He was a salesperson. Survivors include one son, Dalton GILBERT of the home; one daughter, Lexie GILBERT of the home; his parents, of Roland; his wife, Susan of the home; one sister, Donna GILBERT of Oklahoma City; one brother, Brian GILBERT of Oklahoma City; and several other family members and friends.

Graveside services for Clyde L NORRID Jr., 87, formerly of Sallisaw, are being held at 11 a m Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr NORRID was born on May 8, 1925, in Brent to Clyde Lafayette NORRID Sr., and Flossie JACKSON. He died on Friday, July 20, 2012, in Claremore.  He was a supply clerk for Standard Oil. He married Virginia TRIMM on Nov 30, 1960, in Tulsa. She preceded him in death on Jan 13, 202. Survivors include one daughter, Teresa HARDISTY of Sallisaw; two grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services for T J RITTER will be held at 11 a m, July 28, 2012, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Live Oak, Calif.  Mr. RITTER was born on April 8, 1930, in the Vian/Blackgum area to Albert and Ethel McFARLAND RITTER. He died on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of Kern River Family Mortuary of Bakersfield, Calif. He was a long-time resident of Live Oak, most recently living in Bakersfield with his son. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon DOLLINS and husband, Jerry of Live Oak; one son Billy Jay and wife Lisa of Bakersfield; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Glyn RITTER of Bixby, Lyn RITTER of Owasso and Jerald RITTER of Blackgum; and one sister, Wilma ELBON of Tahlequah. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brother, Herman RITTER, Lovely RITTER, Merel RITTER and Bill RITTER, all of blackgum; and one sister, Ruby MICKEY of Cave Junction, Ore.

Funeral services for Marilyn Ann SKAGGS, 71, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a m Monday, July 21, 2012, at St Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Sallisaw with Father Desmond Okpagha officiating. Burial was at Box Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs SKAGGS was born on Oct 27, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., to Elmer KAATMAN and Alma (DILL) KAATMAN. She died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a homemaker. She married Kenneth Wayne SKAGGS Sr. on July 9, 1960, in St Louis. He preceded her in death on Feb 24, 1984. Survivors include three daughters, Kim DILLARD and Katrina SKAGGS, both of Sallisaw and Karen HESTER of Tulsa; one son Kenneth Wayne SKAGGS of Blackgum; three  sisters, Joan WEHNEIER  of St Charles, Mo., Carol SCHAEFER of Overland, Mo., and Mary MECHLIN of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Theodore KAATMAN and Don KAATMAN, both of Overland; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were Casey Dillard, Cole Dillard, Trey Skaggs, Dylan Skaggs, Travis Wilkerson, Billy Hefton and Josh Barrett.

Velma Sue PARKER, 77, of Sallisaw passed away, Saturday morning, July 21, 2012, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn. She was a homemaker, mother and member of the Assembly of God Church in Akins.  Survivors include one daughter Pam MORRIS and husband, Tommy of Sallisaw; one son, John ROARK and wife, Chrissie of Sallisaw; grandchildren, Mark MORRIS and wife, Eulala,  David MORRIS, Jessie CROCKETT, J D ROARK, Jamie BUZZARD and Christina ROARK, all of Sallisaw; great-grandchildren, Rickey Lee, Ekoria Brooke, Victoria Ann,  Adora DeKarla and "Superman" Clark Edward MORRIS, Caleb  and Mallory Callahan, Harmony and Gracie CROCKETT, Modesyn, Hardy, Noah and Khole BUZZARD, Ian and Isiaah WATSON, Tori BALL, Kaidence ROARK, Da'Sha CUBIT, Josiah ROARK, Kaylee SMITH, Mikaya JEREMIAH, and Christina HAYES. She was preceded in death by her parents, W B and Margaret YOUNG; one sister; and two brothers.

Graveside services for Samantha Sue SHOCKEY, 39, will be held at 11 a m Saturday, July 28, 2012 with the Rev Joe Silva officiating under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs SHOCKEY was born on July 23, 1972, in Enid to Stephen Ray RUST and Donna Jean (DEARING) RUST. She died on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in Greenwood, Ark. She was a certified nurses assistant and enjoyed crafting. Survivors include two daughters, Stormy RUST and Summer SIRRATT and husband, Sheldon, all of Hacket, Ark.; one son Steven RUST of Enid;  two sisters, Deanna KNOX and husband, Obie and Joe BISSELL and husband, Johnny, all of Enid; one brother, Kenny Ray RUST and wife Susie of Ponca City; her father, of Hackett; and a grandson. She was preceded in death by her mother.
