Funeral services for Leon "Blue" McGUIRE, 74, of Spiro, formerly of Keota, are being held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at the Mallory Chapel in Stigler, Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars post #4446 of Stigler, with burial in Keota City Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler. Mr. McGUIRE was born April 10, 1928, in Keota, to John Wesley and Lillie (PATTERSON) McGUIRE. He died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy and her husband, and Wendy; three sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy, Timmy and Tracy and his wife Julia; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Lavelle; and three brothers, Harold "Gene", Jerald and Murl. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry McGUIRE.

Graveside services for Andy MELTON, 32, of Fort Smith, Ark., are being held Saturday, at 10 a.m., at the Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.Mr. MELTON was born on Nov. 18, 1970, in Fort Smith. He died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in his home. Survivors include his wife Rebecca of the home; his mother, Priscilla MOORE; his father, Lloyd MELTON Jr.; his paternal grandfather, Lloyd MELTON Sr.; paternal great-grandmother, Ellie SNOW; maternal grandmother, Freda MOORE; two sisters, Kathie and Tiffanie; three brothers, Brian, Bobby and Steven; one step-daughter, Catrina; one step-son, Daniel; and eight step-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ewell D. "Dave" REED, 69, of Charleston, Ark. formerly of Muldrow, were held Friday, at 10 a.m., at the Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in Muldrow, with Rev. Phil Talley officiating, under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. Mr. REED was born on Sept. 17, 1933, in Muldrow, to David V. REED and Gladys (HARVELL) REED. He died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in his home. Survivors  include his wife Barbara of the home; two daughters, Deborah Sue and Pamela Laurel; one son David E.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Gladys WALLACE; one brother Ewing C.; one step-daughter, Michele; three step-sons, Gerald J., Michael P. and Sean G.; 10 step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Megan RaeLynn THOMISON, an infant, of Sallisaw, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in Poteau. She was the daughter of Tammy THOMISON of Sallisaw. No services are planned at this time, cremation is under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau. Survivors include her mother of the home; two sisters, Amie and Summer; her grandparents, George and Linda THOMISON; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Clifford and Ida May THOMISON and one uncle Mark THOMISON.

Funeral services for Pearl BUTTERY, 85, of Gore, will be held Friday, at 2 p.m., at the Blackgum First Baptist Church, with ministers Dwayne Davis and Leland Collins officiating. Burial will be in Box Cemetery near Vian, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mrs. BUTTERY was born on Sept. 14, 1917, in Parkhill, to Edward Shelby HOUGLAND and Annie Tennessee (PARKER) HOUGLAND. She died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, in Sallisaw. Mrs. BUTTERY married William BUTTERY on April 24, 1938. He preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage. Survivors include her children, Clyde and Liddy, and Barton and Charlotte, Lee A. and Virgie, Delbert and Freda, Delmer Wayne, Wanda, Marie and Bill, Anna Mae and Charles and Shirley and Jim; 35 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Earl HOUGLAND of Parkhill. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Norma Jean and pamela Rose; and one son, Talmage.

Funeral services for Cordova Arthur "Gib" GIBSON, 89, of Cookson, were held Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sallisaw, with Rev. Robert Krahn officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. GIBSON was born May 12, 1913, in helena, to  George A. GIBSON and Mary Leona (BEEMAN) GIBSON. She died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. GIBSON married Irma Anna Dorothea MITTELSTARDT  on Nov. 10, 1935 in Fairmont. Survivors include his wife, Irma Anna Doretha GIBSON of the home; one daughter, Karen Marie; one grandson; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services for James A. PRATT, 80, of Sallisaw, were held Tuesday, at 10 a.m., at the Mallory Funeral Home Chapel with LeRoy Reid officiating.  Burial was in Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Mallory Funeral home of Sallisaw. Mr. PRATT was born on June 12, 1922, in Pina, to Robert Samuel PRATT and Fannie (JOHNSON) PRATT. He died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Sis" (HUFF) PRATT  of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ralph and his wife Joy, and Dean and his wife Glenda, and Gary; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Virgie; five brothers, Wilford, Wayne, Floyd, Edward and Roy; and a special friend Leslie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Stella SHEPARD and Mildred SELLS; and two brothers, William PRATT and Acie PRATT.

Funeral services for Larry Otto ADAMS, 54, of Roland, was held Friday, at 2 p.m., at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland, with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial was in Lee's Chapel Cemetery southeast of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland. Mr. ADAMS was born June 18, 1948, in Fort Smith, Ark, to Claude ADAMS and Pearl Irene (WELCH) VICTORY. He died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Fort Smith. Mr. ADAMS married Pamela AUMAN on Feb. 5, 1971, in El Paso, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Pamela ADAMS of the home; two sons, Larry Wayne and Johnny Lee and his wife Tommie; three grandchildren; five sisters, Margaret, Cora, Willa, Helen and Ellen; six brothers, Tommy, Kenny, Johnny, Mike, Jerry and Jason; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Mildred ALLEN, 82, of Liberty, will be held Monday, at 11 a.m., at the Liberty Assembly of God Church, with burial in Liberty Cemetery in Liberty community, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Mrs. ALLEN died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in a local nursing home. Survivors include two daughters, Waiva and her husband, LeRoy and Linda and her husband Glen; two sons, Steve and his wife Vada, and Bruce and his wife, Cyndi; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric ALLEN.

Burial was in Spiro City Cemetery, under the direction  of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. BOYD was born Jan. 31, 1953, in Camp Chaffee, Ark., to Joe and Ora (AKINS) DEES. She died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include two daughters, Amy and Misty; three brothers, Larry, Darryl and John; one grandson; and her parents, Joe and Ora DEES.

Funeral services for Donnie BRADSHAW, 85, of Pocola, are being held Saturday, at 2 p.m., at the Christian Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Pocola, with burial in Leard Cemetery in Pocola, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Ark. Mrs. BRADSHAW died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Pocola. Survivors include two daughters, Clara Mae and Joyce Ann; two sons, Don Allen and Herbert J.W.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Velma; and one brother, Herbert. She was preceded in death by her husband, John BRADSHAW; three sons, John Delbert, William Harrison and Elmer Eugene BRADSHAW; and one daughter, Donnie BRADSHAW.

Burial is in Old Bokoshe Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. LANOY was born April 21, 1930, in Coal Hill, Ark., to Alexander and Beulah (MARTIN) LANOY. He died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Keota. Survivors include his wife, Erma Bee of the home; one daughter Denise and her husband Billy; two sons and  daughters-in-law, Mickey and his wife Laquitta, and Paul and his wife Tammie; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary, Betty, Rosa, Carlia and Nina; and three brothers, James, Bobby and Roy. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alice LANOY and one brother, Alfred LANOY.

Graveside services for Helen RIETZ, 89, of Sallisaw, are being held Saturday, at 2 p.m., at he Sallisaw City Cemetery Gazebo, with Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. RIETZ was born on May 5, 1913, in Iberia, Mo. she died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Sallisaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. RIETZ on Feb. 9, 1976; and one son, Robert RIETZ.

Burial was in Rocky Point Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. ADAIR was born March 4, 1916, in Adair county, to Thomas ADAIR and Mariah JONES. He died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, in Vian. Mr. ADAIR married Katie VANN on Jan. 3, 1943 in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Katie ADAIR of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Bob, Lovella and Rex and Michelle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Lee and Alvada and Donald and Lynn; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sally and Irene.

Funeral services for Luther Clive BOYD, 46, of Vian, are being held Thursday, at Blackgum Christian Union Church in Vian, with Rev. John Barnes officiating. Burial is in Box Cemetery north of Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. BOYD was born May 24, 1956, in Vian, to Charles Luther BOYD and Virginia (THOMPSON) BOYD. He died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Mr. BOYD married Charolette BOYD on June 25, 1984, in Tahlequah. Survivors include his wife, of the home; four daughters, Dawn, Angelina, Heather and Kala; two sons, Kaleb and Shane; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Virginia KEITH; eight sisters, Emma, Sharon, Barbara, Brenda, Vivian, Sandy and Tammy; four brothers, Sam, David, Darrell and Luther Wayne; and Marie.

Funeral services for Mary E. BRASUELL, 95, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, Ark., with burial in Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, Ark., under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Mrs. BRASUELL died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, in Sallisaw. Survivors include two daughters, Sula . and Mary Lou; one son, Rodney; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe BRASUELL; and one son, Herman BRASUELL.

Funeral services for J.E. CHOATE, 82, of Vian, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vian School Auditorium, with Rev. Clarence Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. CHOATE was born Nov. 9, 1920 in Vian, to Gilbert CHOATE and Mary (PARKER) CHOATE. He died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, in Sallisaw. Mr. CHOATE married Sylvester SCOTT on Sept. 29, 1941. Survivors include his wife, Sylvester CHOATE of the home; five daughters, Mary Lou, Ena Mae, Darzella, Lydia Ann and JoAnn; three sons, William, J.E. Jr. and Michael; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, L.C. Amos Pledger officiating, under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville. Mrs. EINERT died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one sister, Pearl; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Brenda, Thelma and Jeannie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aden Author EINERT; her parents, Edd and Frona (NORTON) HYLTON; one sister, Effie (HYLTON) CARLISLE; and one brother, Willie HYLTON.

Mr. HIGHT was born on July 8, 1928, in Paris, Ark., to William Jacob HIGHT and Ruby (HAMIL) HIGHT. He died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. . Survivors include his wife, Rosa Ellen (JONES) HIGHT of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Mike; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Regina, Jeff and Debbie . and David and Darlene; 13 grandchildren; four sisters, Sue, Mary Lou, June and Louise; and three brothers, Robert, Bennie and J.J. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Marcella KNIGHT.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Ark. The Rev. Allen Stuckwisch, pastor of the First Lutheran Church in Fort Smith officiated. Mrs. JONES died Wednesday, Nov  27, 2002, in El Paso. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. JONES. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John Paul and Jerri, and Gordon L. and Billye; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Katherine.

Funeral services for Ruth Maxine (ADAMS) LASITER, 78, of Roland, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial was at the U.S. National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. Mrs. LASITER died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jesse "Jack" ADAMS.  Survivors include her husband, Dale LASITER of the home; two daughters, Virginia "Ginger", and Mary Ann; two step-daughters, Debbie, and Jacqueline "Jacci"; two sons, James C. , and Jack B.; two stepsons, Jerry D. and Billy G.; her mother, Thelma Irene CALVERT; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathy, Eadie, and Rosella; one sister-in-law, Bernice; and one brother, Thomas D.

Burial is in Taylor Cemetery near McLain, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mrs. STEVENS was born July 6, 1917, in Mountain Grove, to Frank and Lou (MILLER) HUNTER. She died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, in her home. Mrs. STEVENS married her first husband Eugene William RICHERSON on Dec. 20, 1933, in Webbers Falls and married her second husband George STEVENS on July 19, 1939, in Muskogee. Survivors include her husband, George STEVENS; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jennifer, and Edward and Diane; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Don. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Doyle HUNTER, one sister, Rosalee BELL and one great-grandson, Dustin RICHERSON.

Funeral services for Randall DeWayne TACKETT, 41, of Panama, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Evan Chapel of Memories in Poteau, with Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. Burial was in Old Bokoshe Cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Homes of Poteau.  Mr. TACKETT was born Dec. 10, 1960, in Poteau, to Clifford and Pat TACKETT. He died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, in McAlester. Survivors include his mother, of the home; two sisters, Vickey and Lea Ann; two brothers, Steven Dale and Paul Allen;  five nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece; and other relatives and friends, including his companion, Violet. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. BURNETT died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, in a Sallisaw Nursing home. Survivors include three daughters, Sue, Vivian and Taylor; three sons, William, John and Paul; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Eutha Mae HARWELL, 54, of Waldron, Ark., were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Bush Cemetery in Waldron, under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron. Mrs. HARWELL died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, in her home. Survivors include her husband, Billy HARWELL; three sons, James, Steve and Allan; three grandchildren; her mother Betty BERRY; one sister, Bobby; and three brothers, Dale, Bill and Don.

Burial is in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. PETER was born on Nov. 27, 1964, in Washington D.C., to Leroy PETER Sr and Lorraine PATTY. He died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, in Tulsa. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Leroy and Sue PETER; his stepfather and his wife, John  and Louise PADDY; two brothers, Tommy and Jimmy; three sisters, Lisa, Vicki and Lynn; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; and one brother, Leroy PETER Jr.

Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. RICHARDS was born July 15, 1914, in Clarksville, Ark. to Thomas H. and Lillis (ADAMS) RICHARDS. He died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Mildred (LAVOY) RICHARDS of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and her husband Robert; one son and daughter-in-law, Elmer Jr. and his wife Anna Jean; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Francis. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Herbert RICHARDS; and four sisters, Ethel RICHARDS, Myrtle RUSSELL, Ora MORGAN and Lois POETKER.

He died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, in his home. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sherry, Beth, and Mary and Randy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Valerie, and Tom and Anita; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Hessie, Sherman, Herbert and John R. BARNES; and two sisters, Polly BRESHEARS and Jean BARNES.

Mr. BOLIN was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Marble City to Joe Lee BOLIN and Narcie Jennie (BUSH) BOLIN. He died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. BOLIN married Judith Ann "Judy" HENDERSON on April 19, 1982, in Rockwall, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Judy BOLIN of the home; one daughter, Carma; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Narcie Jennie (BUSH) BOLIN; six sisters, Louise, Jennie Lynn, Betty Jo, Carol Susie Ann, Juanita Kay and Lois Marie; three brothers, Joe Junior, Larry and Little John; two step-daughters, Sherry, and Tammy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd BOLIN.

Services for Robert B. "Bob" DUDLEY, 73, former Sallisaw city commissioner, businessman and bank director, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw. Mr. DUDLEY died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was buried at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. The Revs. Bill Fuller, Steve Rutherford and Rodney Roberson officiated at the service. Born Dec. 29, 1928, in Westville, Mr. DUDLEY was the son of Jess Floyd DUDLEY and Floy Opal BYRD DUDLEY.  Mr. DUDLEY and his wife Elsie Marie CALLAHAN DUDLEY, were married on May 23, 1975, in Sallisaw. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Leilani, Makaila and Kiana; one son, Carmeron; one step-daughter, Sandy; two step-sons, Ronnie and Randy; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Jay Floyd "Buddy"; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dorothy Margaret EDWARDS, 81, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 10 a.m.Tuesday at the Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Ark., with burial in Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. Mrs. EDWARDS died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, in a local nursing home. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Buzzy STOWERS; and one sister, Barbara BRITTON.

Luretha D. HUSTON, 81, of Muldrow, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in Muldrow. Cremation was under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith, Ark. Mrs. HUSTON was survived by one daughter, Rhonda BRANUM of Muldrow; two grandchildren, Sean BOYD and Shawna BOYD; four great-grandchildren, Eric BOYD, Daxton BOYD, Ashley BOYD and Jamie WILSON; three sisters, Mildred DOOLEY and Eunice LEACH both of Springdale, Ark. and Judith BOTTOM of South Carolina; and one brother, Elsworth BOTTOM of Apopka, Fla.

Lloyd J. CAVES, 81, of Sallisaw, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born July 4, 1921, in Pisgah, Ala., to John CAVES and Ethel (FRAZIER) CAVES. Survivors include four daughters and one son-in-law, Viki and L.A., Tammy, Sherry and Brenda; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rex, and Clint and Tina; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Della; and companion, Patricia. Survivors include her husband, Bob of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Merlin and Gladys; three granddaughters; two grandsons; one step-daughter, Laura Mae; two step-sons and one step-daughter-in-law, Donald L. and Bobby and his wife Hope; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by one grandson; one sister; three brothers; and her parents.

Funeral services for Edith Irene WEITZ, 82, of Canadian, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Canadian United Methodist Church, with Rev. Charles Saviers officiating. Burial was in Crowder Cemetery, under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Eufaula. She was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Hanna, to Benjamin Franklin and Bessie Hester (DRENNEN) NULL. She died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in her home. She married Henry T. WEITZ on May 24, 1941, in Checotah. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Cleta and Mike, Shanna and Tony and Becky and Hershel; eight grandchildren and their spouses; 13 great-grandchildren;  two brothers and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Mary and Doug and Barbara; two sisters, Gilberta and Shirley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; her parents; one son, Lynn; five sisters, Millie SANDERS, Gracy NULL, Mary ADAMS, Leona NULL and Clara LAME: and one brother, Alfred NULL.
