Funeral services for Calvin "Mose" BUTCHER, 72, of Booneville, Ark. were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Glendale Baptist Church in Booneville. Burial was in Glendale Cemetery at Boonevile under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, Ark. Mr. BUTCHER died Sunday, March 29, 1998 at his home. Survivors include his wife, Martha BUTCHER; one sister Faye and one brother

Funeral services for Clara FOLSOM CASSADY, 92, of Sallisaw were held Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw, with Dr. Lee Woodard and Dr. J. D. Ward officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. CASSADY was born July 20, 1905, in Akins community, Sequoyah District, Oklahoma, Indian Territory, to Ocie and Nevada (EMBERTON) FOLSOM. She died Saturday, March 28, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married Alva Ray CASSADY Dec. 25, 1926, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1983. Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte, Sandra and Mary Francis; three sons, Don, C.B. and Billy Wayne; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. CASSADY was also preceded in death by one sister Allie LESSLEY.

Funeral services for Maydean Lucille TEEHEE, 50, of Muldrow are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Copic Church with Juke Kester and Teddy Qualls officiating. Burial is in Seabolt Cemetery, north of Muldrow, under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. TEEHEE was born May 1, 1947, in Jay to John Ed and Catherine (JONES) WATKINS. She died Sunday, March 29, 1998 at Muldrow Nursing Home. Survivors include her husband Raymond of the home; two daughters, Linda and Dorothy; two sons, Calvin and Sam; one brother, Roger Ed; one sister, Shirley; four granddaughters, Tamara, Sierra, Samantha and Felicia and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for E. Paul CROSSNO, 91, of Dallas were held at 11 a.m., April 2, 1998 at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home Chapel in Dallas with Dr. James Palmer Sr. officiating. Burial was in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, under the direction of Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home. Mr. Crossno was born in Sallisaw, Indian Territory, Oct. 17, 1906. He died Tuesday, March 31, 1998. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bertine; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Mary Ann CROSSNO; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Glenda WARD and Maxine THOMPSON.

Graveside services for Arnold ESTEVES, 41, of Gore will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the family Cemetery, northwest of Vian, with the Rev. Jeff Polasek officiating. Mr. ESTEVEZ was born June 14, 1956, in Santa Anna, El Saladore, to Mr. RODRIGUEZ and Anna ESTEVEZ RODRIGUEZ. He died Thursday, April 2, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Kathryn JOACHIMS March 29, 1997, in Norman. Survivors include his wife Katy of the home; one son, Brandi; two sisters, Bertha and Maria Luz; two brothers, Luis and Gustavo; his mother, and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Funeral Services for Faye W. HANLON, 69, of Sallisaw were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Wheeler's Candlelight Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Burial was in Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. HANLON was born Sept. 26, 1928 in Sequoyah County, to Benjamin Franklin and Nannie G (HALE) WELCH. She died Thursday, April 2, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Henry A. HANLON in 1976 in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her mother; Nannie; two sisters, Geraldine and Maye; one stepdaughter, Janet; and two step granddaughters;

Funeral services for Flossie Mae WALTERS, 87, of Muldrow are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Copic Baptist Church in Nicut, with Rev. Junior Kester officiating. Burial is in Seabolt Cemetery in Nicut, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. WALTERS was born Feb. 17, 1911, in Nicut to John Franklin and Flora Ann (EWING) SERATT. She died Tuesday, March 31, 1998, in Roland. She married Perry Ray WALTERS. He preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Eunice, Ruth, Joan, and Janie; one son Johnny; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie; and two brothers, Lowell and George. Mrs. WALTERS was also preceded in death by one daughter, Era LAWSON, one son, Buford WALTERS and one grandson, Steven KIMBLE.

Mr. ENGLAND was born Sept 26, 1922, in Gans, to William "Bud" and Haley (COWETT) ENGLAND. he died Monday, April 6, 1998, in Muldrow. Survivors include five daughters, Glenda Faye, Johnnie Mae, Terri Diane, Teresa and Robin; three sons, Olen Lee, Frankie Dewayne and Johnny Ray Jr. ; one step-son, David; one step-daughter, Sue; one sister Rhoda; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. and a special friend, Lillian.

Funeral services for Carlene Wanda PUFFER, 67, of Vian are being held at 2 p.m.. Thursday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Larry Don Marley and Anthony England. Burial is in Brushy Cemetery, north of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. PUFFER was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Lawton, to Carl and Minnie (THOMPSON) RAMSEY. She died Monday, April 6, 1998, in Vian. She married Francis Lee PUFFER, Aug. 16, 1961, in Stigler. He preceded her in death Sept 8, 1991. Survivors include one daughter, Mary; two sons, Carl and Earnest; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Viola. Mrs. PUFFER was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Pearson in June 1997.

Burial is in Flute Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. STEALER was born Nov. 26, 1911, in Delaware County, to Mack and Rachel (SADDLEBLANKET) BIRD. She died Monday, April 6, 1998, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. She married William Daws STEALER. He preceded her in death. Survivors include five daughters, Ruby, Wanda, Galelia, Irene, and Allene; three sons, George, Raymond, and Mack; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ima TAYLOR, 74, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Ted Eppler officiating. Burial was in Buffington Cemetery, west of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. TAYLOR was born Aug. 14, 1923, in the McKey community, to Will "Bill" and Della (BLAYLOCK) EDGMON. She died Sunday, April 5, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Orman Hamilton TAYLOR in Jasper, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Orman of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Jim; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jamie and Ote; one grandson, Justin; and two great-grandchildren, Jayci Lynn and Denver Cash.

Funeral services for Maggie M. WATERS, 86, of Sallisaw are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Akins Assembly of God Church with Laymon Garrison officiating. Burial was in Akins Cemetery, northwest of Sallisaw, under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. WATERS was born April 28,1911, in Hanson to Jim and Della (HUFF) FOLSOM. She died Sunday, April 5,1998, at her home. She married Leonard WATERS and he preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Billy; one adopted son, Tommy; four grandchildren; Diane, Susan, Melinda and Leonard; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Muse Cemetery, under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home in Talihina. Mr. NICHOLS was born April 20, 1920, in Muse, to Hampy and Vada (PUGH) NICHOLS. He died Thursday, April 9, 1998, in Talihina. He married Oleta MCNEW Oct. 11, 1974, in Belton, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Oleta; four sons, Ervin Eugene, Hampy Lewis, David Andrew and John Richard; three daughters, Ruby LaVerne, Patricia Faye and Edith Gayle; two step-sons, Jim and Bob; two step-daughters, Chatherine and Linda; two brothers, Marvin and Gerald; one sister Hazel; 36 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and loved ones.

Graveside services for Carl Newton WHITE, 77, of Carlsbad, Texas, are being held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Cemetery, north of Roland. Mr. WHITE was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Texas. He died Sunday, April 5, 1998, in Carlsbad. His wife, Wilma Lee WHITE, preceded him in death Feb. 3, 1996. Graveside services for Ben AMOS, 79, of Sallisaw are being held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, with the Revs. Monroe Lowrimore and Vernon Smith officiating. Mr. AMOS was born Oct. 18, 1918, in the Miller Ridge community, to John Clark and Margaret Nancy (GARVIN) AMOS. He died Sunday April 12, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Mary Virginia CARTER Oct. 5, 1941, in Short. Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three sisters, Ruby, Magnolia and Virginia; one brother, Clayton; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

O. B. BROWN, 77, of Muldrow died Friday, April 10, 1998 in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at a later date in Blue Island, Ill. Mr. BROWN was born June 18, 1920, in Dyer, Tenn., to Herbert H. and Lottie (DAVIDSON) BROWN. He married Frances Odessa ROGERS HOMOLKA Aug. 18, 1985, in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Odessa of the home; three daughters, Beverly, Sherry; two sons, Herbert "Bi" and Nathan Lee; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one step-son, Charles; and two sisters, Jessie and Dorothy.

Funeral services for Betty Lou CHRISTIE, 72, of Flute Springs community, Marble City were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Marble City School gymnasium with the Rev. LeRoy Reid officiating. Burial was in Flute Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. CHRISTIE was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Flute Springs, to John FLUTE Jr. and Mollie (MUSH) CATRON FLUTE. She died Thursday, April 9, 1998, in a Fort Smith, Ark. hospital. She married Isaac CHRISTIE in 1946. Survivors include her husband, Isaac of the home; three sons, Monroe, Billy and Woodrow; one daughter, Carolyn; one sister, Sarah; three brothers, Charlie, Thomas and Johnny Mack; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. CHRISTIE was preceded in death by one son, John CHRISTIE, one brother, Homer FLUTE, and one great-granddaughter, Madison Daystarr BALDRIDGE.

Mrs. SOUTHERN was born Aug. 3, 1904, in Muldrow, Sequoyah District Oklahoma, Indian Territory, to George and Amy (SHAVER) KEYS. She died Monday, April 13, 1998, in Muldrow. She married Wes SOUTHERN, who preceded her in death in 1958. Survivors include one son, Hugh; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. CARROLL was born Nov. 19, 1910, in Denmark, Ark., to Noah and Martha THRASHER ELLIS. She died Monday, April 13, 1998, in Sallisaw. A retired educator, Mrs. CARROLL taught school at Hanson, Muldrow, Sallisaw, in the Harrison community and Tulsa County Schools. She married C.D. CARROLL in August 1992 in Hanson. Survivors include her husband, C.D. CARROLL of Tulsa; three sisters, Vera , Bera and Jeannean; three brothers, Jack, Golden and Leland, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Eunice Brittie CLAPHAN, 96, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dripping Springs Cemetery, near Cedarville, Ark., with the Rev. Robert A. Vowell officiating. Miss CLAPHAN was born Dec. 2, 1901, in Crawford County, Ark., to Dwight Elzie and Laura Belle HODGES CLAPHAN. She died Saturday, April 4, 1998, in Roland. Survivors include three sister, Annie , Leona , and Marie; and three brothers, Herschel , Elzie, and Melvin. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Graveside services for Clarence "Joe" HENDERSON, 51, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Tom Young officiating.  Mr. HENDERSON was born Feb. 1, 1947, in McAlester, to Clarence Granville and Bessie (ROBERTS) HENDERSON. He died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Johnnie Sue FLOYD June 21, 1968, in Akins. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Sue of the home; one daughter, Margaret Diana; one son, Chantz; two grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth and Minnie; and one brother Granville; Services were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

Funeral services are scheduled for Douglas E. "Doug" STITES at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw. The Rev. Monroe Lowrimore is officiating. Burial is in Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. STITES was born Jan. 2, 1943, to John Thomas and Lessie Irene CURL STITES, in Sallisaw. He died April 15, 1998. Survivors include four sons, Scott, Shane, Chad and Brad; three sisters, Imogene, Verna and Margaret; three brothers, J.T., Edmund, and Don. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted STITES in 1983, Charles STITES in 1977 and Herbert STITES in 1989.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Antioch Cemetery in Bruce, Mississippi, with the Rev. Jim Vance officiating. Mrs. CARTER was born March 1, 1920, in Sallisaw to Art and Marie (WICKETT) FARMER. She died Saturday April 18, 1998, in Sallisaw. A former educator, Mrs. CARTER taught school at Braggs and Memphis, Tenn. She married Paul Fredric CARTER, Jan. 15, 1941, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Fred CARTER of the home; one brother, James P. "Cherry"; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

He died April 18, 1998 at his home north of Vian. Graveside services for Howard Virgil PULLIAM, 75, of Muldrow were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow, with the Revs. Walt Garterell and John Overton officiating. Mr. PULLIAM was born April 17, 1923, in Missouri, to John and Fiona PULLIAM. He died Friday April 17, 1998, in Tulsa. He married Lema June EAKER in 1948 in Moorehouse, Mo. She preceded him in death in 1972. Mrs. TAILEY was born June 10, 1910, in Gans to Thomas Madison ACTON and Ada (ROBERTSON) ACTON. She died Sunday, April 19, 1998, in Raymore, Mo. She married Willis Graham TAILEY Sr. in February 1931, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death June 14, 1968. Survivors include three daughter, Linda, Marilyn, and Ann. two sons, Bill and Tom; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise.

Mrs. TRIPLETT was born May 23, 1908, in Ada, to James Franklin and Myrtle (NEELEY) WALKER. She died Friday, April 17, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Ezra TRIPLETT May 16, 1965, in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death July 17, 1979. Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn, Denise and Carol; two sons, Donald and Kenneth; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Estell and Violet; and one brother, Jack. Services were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Funeral services for Walter T. "W. T." WALTERS, 77, of Vian are being held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Blackgum Mission of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Phyllis and Bill Willis officiating. Burial will be in Box Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service in Webbers Falls. Mr. WALTERS was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Vian to Vester and Mary (HEDRICK) WALTERS. He died Friday, April 17, 1998, after a long illness. Survivors include his wife Genny of the home, one granddaughter, Amanda; four step-sons, Jerry, George, Larry and Richard; one step-daughter, Patricia; one adopted daughter, Linda; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Blanch; one brother, Jim "Monk"; one half sister, Louise; one half-brother, Jerry; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial is in Dora Cemetery in Dora, Ark. under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Mrs. ENGLISH died Wednesday April 22, 1998 , in a Fort Smith hospital. Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Faye, Ann, Beulah, Carolyn, Marilyn; one son Donald; 25 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. ENGLISH was preceded in death by her husband, Faye ENGLISH, two daughters, Mary Alice and Lillian and one son Jerry Bob .

Mr. HOLT was born Aug. 6, 1962 , in Sallisaw, to William Lawton HOLT and Linda MCCLEOD HADLEY. He married Mary Ellen WILLIAMS Sept. 16, 1994, in Muldrow. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen of the home; one stepdaughter, Ladonna; his mother Linda; his father Lawton; two brothers, Ronald, and Doyle Ray; one half sister; Rosie Christine; his grandfather Sid HOLT; He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Gladys HOLT, and maternal grandparents, Hazel and Hob MCCLEOD.

Burial is in Dwight Mission Cemetery northwest of Sallisaw. Mrs. ROGERS was born June 22, 1932, in Sequoyah County, to Earl and Irene (TAYLOR) MASTERSON. She died Monday, April 27, 1998, in Marble City. She married Buddy ROGERS, Nov. 9, 1948, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Buddy of the home; two daughters, Joy and Fama; one son, Darrel; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; Mrs. ROGERS was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren Jason WILLIAMS and Toddy GREEN.

Funeral services for Governor TOOTLE, 65, of Modesto, Calif., were held at 10 a.m. April 28, 1998 at Deegan Funeral Home in Escalon Calif. Mr. TOOTLE was born Oct. 19, 1932, in Sallisaw, to Charley and Fannie (COX) TOTTLE. He died Friday, April 24, 1998, in Modesto. Survivors include his wife, Beverly of the home; three daughters, Jan, Cara and Jennifer; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Juanita, Sadie, and Pat; one brother, Arvil.


Mrs. Gertrude Elaine WINEBARGER, 89, Gore died Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. She was born June 15, 1908, in Stanley, N. D., to James and Mae (VICKERSON) MCCAULEY. She married Arless WINEBARGER in Missoula, Mont. He preceded her in death in March 1976. Survivors include one daughter, Pauline; one son, Paul; one sister, Muriel; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under Millsap Funeral Service in Webbers Falls.
