PG 5 MONDAY, NOV 18, 1968 issue: "Rites Held Sunday For J. W. Adair, Sr. Funeral services were held in the Strang High School gym Sunday for Joseph William Adair, Sr. 77, Strang, who died in a Jay hospital Friday. Born Dec. 8, 1891 in Kentucky he had been a resident of the Strang vicinity since 1926 and came to Oklahoma from his native Ky. in 1915. A retired farmer stockman Adair had owned a garage in Strang for a number of years, a member of the Episcopal Church and a past master of Adair Masonic Lodge. Survivors include three sons, Allen S., Whittier Ca. , Joseph W. Jr., Tulsa, Henry of Elk City, two daughters, Mrs. L. G. Hood, Springfield, Mo., Mrs. H. A. Mickleson, Oklahoma City: several brothers, one sister and six grandchildren. Interment was made in Spavinaw Cemetery and with Masonic graveside rites and all arrangements were made by the Green Funeral Home."
