1940-2007

Judy Darlene Compton, 67, Muskogee, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in Muskogee. Judy was born July 17, 1940 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Fred and Doris (Gilmore) Carnell. She grew up in Muskogee and worked for Anderson Wholesale Company, retiring after twenty five years. Judy liked to read, sew and play with her special pets, Pete, Tigger and Dirty Bird. She wanted to be remembered as a lady with a smile and a heart of gold. No matter how bad things were she would always have a smile, and you knew you were loved. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Judy was a member of York Street Christian Church.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Judy Lynn Compton, and Melisa Dawn Compton.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Compton Sr. of Muskogee; son, Robert Compton Jr. of Muskogee; daughter, Sherri Clausson of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren, Bobbi Anne Compton, Poss Marcus Compton, and Kelli Jane Compton, of Muskogee, Mike and Wendy Isom of Goldsby, Oklahoma; brother, Dale and Mary Carnell of Muskogee; nephew, Jimmy Dale and Pam Carnell of Muskogee; nieces Debbie Smith and her husband Todd of Muskogee, Christy Webster of Muskogee; great nieces and nephews, Justin Smith, Isaac Smith, Steffanie Carnell, Samatha Moore, Lacy Largent, Brittney Steward; special friends Linda Letterman and Peggy Clairday; and a host of family and friends.

Special thanks to Medic-Air, Mickey, Sherry, Keith, John and staff, she loved all of you. Thank you Dr. T and Staff. Thank you Solara and staff for her special care.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, October 8, 2007 at Fosters Ivory Chapel with Pastor David Howell and Rev. Harold Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Hammer Cemetary, south of Muskogee. Pallbearers will be Larry Stockton, Danny Baker, Randy Ryder Clay Nichols, Junior Nichols, Gary Smith, Tommy White and Bill Baker.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
