McBryde/Peebles

Hughes County, Oklahoma

This cemetery is also know as PEEBLES CEMETERY. I recorded this cemetery March 23, 1998. Located north of Holdenville, Ok, from the intersection of Hwy 48 (Broadway of America) and Hwy 270, go 1 mile east, turn north on Whitty Road, go 2.4 miles. (On the cornor of the third intersection.) This was near a small community called Whitty. The property now belongs to Glen and Barbara Walker of Walker Pecan Farm. This is a very small cemetery and not very well marked. Barbara Walker has given to me information that was passed on to her by Fran Cook who canvessed this cemetery on Oct 1, 1984 and while in the cemetery, Mrs.McBride stopped by and gave her this information. I have combined this information (marked with a " * ") and the tombstone information I found.
