Company I, 11th Texas Cavalry

Born August 15, 1840 in Franklin County, Alabama

Died October 3, 1912 in Blanchard, Oklahoma

Charles came to Indian Territory in 1889 and can be found in the 1900 census for this area.  He died in Blanchard in 1912 but about that same year he appears in a UCV list as living in Newcastle.  He probably lived between the two towns in McClain County at the time of his death

Mary Elizabeth Hall and Charles S. Porter were married January 3, 1869 in Russell, Alabama
