BLAKEMORE
William McClure BLAKEMORE, a retired farmer of Stilwell, died Sunday, May
13 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 76 years old. BLAKEMORE,
born March 10, 1914, to Clarence W. BLAKEMORE and Sarah Kinnie WEST BLAKEMORE
in Stilwell, was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stilwell.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Helen BLAKEMORE of the home; one daughter,
Billie C.; his stepmother, Mrs. Madelyn BLAKEMORE; one brother, Clarence
W. all of Oklahoma; four sisters, Joan of Arizona, Jananna of Texas and Mary
and Peggy both of Oklahoma; one aunt, Mary of Oklahoma; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Services were to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday of this week in the First United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell CHEATHAM officiating, and interment
in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of the Roberts Funeral
Home.
VAUGHN
Mrs. Eda BROCK VAUGHN, 90, died Monday, May 14 at the Stilwell Nursing
Home.
Mrs. VAUGHN was born October 9, 1899, to Edward L. BROCK and Sarah SMART
BROCK in Shawnee, Indian Territory.
Survivors include: five sons, Edward Daniel of California, and John Thomas,
Willis, Norman Wallace and Lebron Philip all of Oklahoma; six daughters,
Elsie, Sarah, Naomi, Dora and Mary Katherine, all of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by three foster children and one brother.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Roberts Funeral Chapel, Stilwell,
with Brothers Darrell Lacie and Audie Vaughn officiating.
Interment will be in the Proctor Cemetery.

HARDWICK
Services for Lloyd Everett HARDWICK, 60, Stilwell, were held Monday, July
16, 1990 at Hart Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Larry Swafford officiating.
Interment was in Baptist Mission Cemetery near Westville. He was born July
27, 1929 in Barling, Arkansas, to Marion Everett HARDWICK and Eva Mae ANDERSON
HARDWICK. He died Friday, July 13, 1990, at his home in Stilwell. He was
a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member
of the Ex-Prisoners of War and the American Legion. He was married to Aline
HASTINGS GRIFFIN, May 5, 1976 in Westville. He is survived by: his wife,
Aline of the home; six sons, Harold, Eddie, Jim, Kevin and Dennis, all of
Oklahoma, and Donald of Tennessee; two daughters, Diana and Lawanna, both
of Oklahoma; one sister, Marie of Arkansas; and one brother, Elbert of Oklahoma;
and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernest HARDWICK.
HENSLEY
Graveside services for Mrs. Ada HENSLEY, 74, Stilwell, were held Monday,
July 16, 1990 at Fairfield Cemetery with the Rev. Andy GONZALES officiating.
Interment was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
She was born November 1, 1925 in North Carolina to Richard HARDIN and Martha
BELL HARDIN. She died Sunday, July 15, 1990 at a Ft. Smith, Arkansas hospital.
She was a foster parent.
She is survived by four sons, Brad, Jay, Daniel and Mitch; and two daughters,
Myrtle and Marsha, both of Oklahoma; and 13 grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren.
HIDER
Sam HIDER, a retired Baptist minister, died Tuesday, July 10, 1990. He was
82 years old.
Services were held Saturday, July 14 at the First Baptist Church in Jay.
JONES
Arch JONES, 66, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War 11, died Saturday, July
7, 1990, in Tulsa.
JONES, born April 1, 1924 to Dobb and Annie SWANEY JONES in Stilwell, was
a lifelong resident of the Cherry Tree community. He was a member of the
Vann Baptist Church and had helped many benefit singings by furnishing his
public address systems. Survivors include: his wife, Nannie; three sons,
Bobby, Charley and Rocky; one daughter, Imogene; and one sister, Charlotte,
all of Oklahoma; and 13 grandchildren.
SANDERS
Services for William Roy SANDERS, 82, Stilwell, were to be held Wednesday
July 18, 1990 at Restland Chapel in Dallas, Texas, with interment in the
Restland Cemetery. Local arrangements were under the direction of Hart Funeral
Home.
SANDERS died Sunday, July 15, 1990, at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell.
He was born April 17, 1908 in Alto, Tennessee. He was a retired painter and
a member of the Wauhillau Free Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie May BYNUM SANDERS, of the home; two daughters,
Willa of Oklahoma and Shirley of Virginia; four grandchildren; 10 great
grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.
REED
Services for Mrs. Dona Ruth REED, 82, Stilwell, were held Friday, July 13,
1990 in the Hart Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ed BAKER and the Rev. Shorty
DOYLE officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
She was born January 11, 1908 in Adair County to Samuel Henry WARD and Arna
Retha HENRY WARD. She died Wednesday, July 11, 1990 at Sparks Regional Medical
Center in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was a member of the Ewing Chapel Free
Holiness Church.
She is survived by four sons, Jack of California and Frank, Sam and Tom,
all of Oklahoma; three daughters, Pat of Oklahoma, Retha of Arkansas and
Wilma of Texas; two stepsons, Buck of Arkansas and Tobe of Oklahoma; one
stepdaughter, Lucille of Oklahoma; two brothers, Tom and Albert, both of
Oklahoma; one sister, Ellen of Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D.W. REED, and one son, Robert
Lee REED.

ADAIR
Mrs. Golda ADAIR, former owner and operator of the Stilwell Flower Shop,
died Sunday, December 16, 1990 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa. She
was 81 years old.
Mrs. ADAIR, born February 14, 1909 in Adair County to Walter D. and
Sabina E. ADAIR BIGBY, owned and operated the flower shop until her
retirement in 1980.
She was married to Virgil ADAIR on November 4, 1928 in Stilwell. He preceded
her in death on December 19, 1968.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Rose Garden
Club.
Mrs. ADAIR was preceded in death by four brothers, W.J.B.(Buster), W.D.,
Rufus and Colbert BIGBY; and by five sisters, Maude MARTIN, Gladys ADAIR,
Mary RHOADS and Blanche ADAIR.
Survivors include: two daughters, Jimmie Ruth and Judy Gail, both of Oklahoma;
and two grandsons, Chris of Texas and Brad of England.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday of this week in the Hart Memorial
Chapel with the Rev. Bob HALL and the Rev. Hubert SPONSLER officiating, and
interment in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
PATRICK
Services for Orville PATRICK, 87, Stilwell, were held Saturday, December
15 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Noble CASEY officiating.
Interment was in the Bunch Cemetery.
He was born November 11, 1903 in St. Paul, Arkansas, to Daniel H. PATRICK
and Rosa RAY PATRICK. He died Wednesday, December 12, 1990, at Memorial Hospital
in Stilwell. He was a farmer and merchant, having operated Patrick's Store
at Lynons Switch for 50 years. He was married to Sarah B. HAMLIN on April
29, 1928 in Molloy Hollow. He was a member of the Bunch Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his wife; one son, Don of Oklahoma; two daughters, Patricia
and Elena, both of Kansas; one brother, Doyle of Oklahoma; three sisters,
Ona of Arkansas, Elsie of Oklahoma and Dessie of California; five granddaughters;
and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
