CHAPMAN
Services for Mrs. Ollie CHAPMAN, 80, lifetime resident of Westville, were held February 14 in the Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with the Rev. Raymond HUNTON. She was born January 18, 1894 in Westville, Indian Territory. She passed away at the Siloam Springs, Ark., Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Interment was in the Baptist Mission Cemetery.  She is survived by two daughters, Mae SISK, Twin Oaks, and Helen WILLIAMS, Siloam Springs; six sons, Clyde CHAPMAN, Tulsa, Dean, Roy Jr., Eugene and Herbert CHAPMAN, all of Kansas City, Mo., and Josh Chapman, U.S. Air Force; four brothers, Joe and Clifford LANGLEY, both of Westville, Will LANGLEY, Gentry, Ark., and George LANGLEY, Tulsa; two sisters, Kate ANDERSON, Tulsa, and Lillie  ARSON, Westville; 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

BIGBY
Services for Miss Sarah Catherine (Miss Kate) BIGBY, 85, who died February 8 in the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, were held February 12 in the Roberts Chapel in Westville with Bro. Bob HALL of Stilwell officiating.  Miss Bigby, born August 6, 1888, six miles west of Stilwell, had lived in Westville for more than 46 years. She retired in 1953 after more than 28 years of service as telephone operator and manager of the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Westville. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including four of whom she reared: Mrs. Elizabeth MEECH and Mrs. Vera MAYBERRY, both of Westville, Mrs. Sue MILLER, Wagoner, and Mrs. Eula ALEXANDER, Santa Ana, Calif.; and Clarence and Watt BIGBY of Washington.  Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Stilwell.  

PICKENS
Lee Raymond PICKENS, 74, died Thursday, February 14 in the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.  PICKENS, born October 23, 1899, in Missouri, was a member of the United Methodist church.  Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Thelma PICKENS of the home; one son, Lee Raymond PICKENS Jr., Mulvane, Kansas; one brother, Guy PICKENS, Lamar, Mo.; and three granddaughters.  Services were held Sunday in the Hart Memorial Funeral Chapel in Westville with the Rev. George WOOLF officiating. Interment was in the Westville City Cemetery.

ROSE
Silas Huston ROSE, a former resident of Adair County, died Sunday in the Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa. He was 71 years old.  ROSE, born February 7, 1907 in Kentucky, moved to Pryor about 15 years ago from Adair County. He was a mechanic and a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.  Survivors include: one son, Eugene ROSE, Muskogee; two brothers, John ROSE, Colcord and Dave ROSE, Fayetteville, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Annie SKAGGS, Clarksville, Ark., Mrs. Alma HIGNITE, Stilwell, and Mrs. Bessie SMITH, Visalia, Calif.; and four grandchildren.  Services were held Tuesday in the Hersman Chapel in Wagoner. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery at Wagoner.

MORRIS
Gabe MORRIS, 73, brother of three Watts residents, died Monday in a Wagoner nursing home.  MORRIS, born in Oklahoma [Indian Territory] had worked in lumber mills in California and returned to Oklahoma about 10 years ago. Survivors include: a daughter, a step-daughter, two brothers, Frank and Bonnie MORRIS, both of Watts; two sisters, including Mrs. Lou DONAHUE of Watts; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Graveside services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Elmwood Cemetery.

BURGESS
Services for Mrs. Mary E. BURGESS, 74 year old former Stilwell resident, were held Monday, February 11 in the Greenhill Cemetery of Muskogee, the Rev. Garland T. WALKER, pastor of the Meadowbrook Baptist Chruch, officiated.  Mrs. BURGESS, who grew up in Stilwell, taught school in Adair County for several years. She had lived in Muskogee the past 51 years.  She was a member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Imogene BRAGGS, Mydahl, and Mrs. Ina Belle RIDER and Mrs. Donna Anne HAWKINS, both of Muskogee; and eight grandchildren.

FRY
Dr. Franklin D. FRY, 74, lieutenant governor of this Kiwanis division, died unexpectedly on Tuesday of last week at his home in Sallisaw. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.
Dr. FRY, a frequent visitor in Stilwell, had retired a few years ago as a clinical pyschologist in Pennsylvania to move back to Sallisaw. He re-opened his office in Sallisaw and, in addition, was active in civic and community affairs.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor FRY LANGBEIN and Mrs. Ruth Virginia MERRIT; two brothers, P.C. FRY and Othel FRY; two sisters, Mrs. Opal KEEN, Sallisaw, and Mrs. Inice MCPHERSON, Whittier, Calif.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services were held Friday afternoon in Sallisaw, with interment in a cemetery at Johnston, Pa.

RICH
Mrs. Arminda Elnora RICH, 84 year old Adair County resident, died Wednesday, February 20 at her home, 9 miles southwest of Stilwell, following a long illness.
Mrs. RICH, born February 24, 1890, in what is now Oklahoma, is survived by eight sons, Lawrence, Verlin, Estel, Emerald, Elza, Alva , Arless and Orvin RICH, and two sisters, Elsie RICH, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Donna SAMS, Lamar, Mo.
Services were held Sunday afternoon in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles MCCUISTION of Bunch officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery.

BREAD
Services for Charles (Tooter) BREAD Jr., nephew of the Rev. BREAD of Stilwell were held Sunday afternoon in Tahlequah. Interment was in the Saddle Mountain Cemetery in Kiowa County. BREAD, born in Lawton, died Friday at the home in Tahlequah after suffering gunshot wounds. The shooting is being investigated.
He served as a security guard for the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah where he had lived since 1968. He was a member of the Hunting Horse Methodist Church in Cherokee County.
Survivors include: three sons, Philip, John and Donald BREAD; and his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Charles BREAD Sr.; four brothers, Jimmie BREAD, Donald BREAD, Jerry BREAD and Gene BREAD; one sister, Ramona HOGAN; and his grandparents of Carnegie.

HALL
Services for Joseph N. HALL, 69 year old Westville resident, were held November 1, in the Hart Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the cemetery at Bluejacket in Craig County.  HALL, born November 29, 1904, died October 30 at his home.  Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Ruby HALL of the home; one son, Floyd DEWITTE, San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Doris Alene PATTON, Lawton; two brothers, Lee HALL, Watkulwo, Iowa, and Tom HALL, Goodwin, Idaho; and four grandchildren.

JOHNDROW
Rollie Paul JOHNDROW, 77, a former resident of Westville, died October 19 in Seminole.  Services were held October 21 in the Church of Christ in Seminole and interment was in the Little Cemetery near Seminole.  JOHNDROW, born October 22, 1896, in Sedalia, Mo., is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Bessie JOHNDROW, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Capitola) MAUK, Alma, Ark., and Mrs. Jack (Gala) KING, Hobbs, N.M.; one brother, Frank JOHNDROW, Westville; one sister, Mrs. Mattie STORIJOHN, Independence, Mo., two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

ROLLER
Services for Mrs. Helen M. ROLLER, 62 year old Westville resident who died October 25 in the Stilwell Municipal Hospital, were held October 27 in the Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville. Interment was in the Chalk  Bluff Cemetery near Stilwell.  Mrs. ROLLER, born October 20, 1912, in Westville, is survived by: her husband, Albert ROLLER of the home; three sisters, Margaret GREATHOUSE, Watts, Jewell KAUFFELD, Siloam Springs, Ark., and Victoria SMITH, Jenks; four brothers, John H. and Tom MORRIS, both of Westville, Alfred MORRIS, Siloam Springs, and Franklin MORRIS, Watts.

FINNELL
Lee FINNELL, 69 year old Vinita resident, died October 25 in a Tulsa hospital. Services were held October 28 in Vinita. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, and four sisters, including Mrs. Beryl ARMSTRONG of Westville.

TOWRY
Lawson Lee TOWRY, 73, brother of Leroy TOWRY of Stilwell, died Sunday of last week in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital.  Towry, a longtime Poteau merchant and civic worker, was born August 11, 1901, in Paris, Ark.  Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula TOWRY of the home; one daughter, three sisters; three other brothers and four grandchildren.  Services were held Wednesday of last week in the First Christian Church of Poteau. Interment was in the Green Hill Cemetery, Muskogee.

SELF
Services for Lark Guy SELF, 72 year old Westville resident, were held November 5 in the Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville. The Rev. Bud LACIE officiated. Interment was in the Baptist Mission Cemetery.  SELF, born April 7, 1902, in Boxley, Ark., died November 2 in the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.  Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Freda SELF of the home; six sons, Waymond, Richard and Howard SELF, all of Westville. Gary SELF, Tulsa, Ronald SELF, San Jose, Calif., and Clifford SELF, Springfield, Ore.; five daughters, Mrs. Grace DIXON and Mrs. Maybelline DALE, both of Westville, Mrs. Jane SKIPPER, Watts, Mrs. Jo HADDOCK, Oroville, Calif., and Mrs. Katrinka LOVE, Childress, Texas; 34 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

BROWN
Mrs. Clara E. BROWN, 73, a lifetime resident of Adair County died Saturday in the Stilwell Municipal Hospital.  Mrs. BROWN, born June 16, 1901, in Adair County [Indian Territory] is survived by: her husband, T.W. BROWN of the home on Route 2 Stilwell; one son, Guye BROWN, Satanta, Kansas; five brothers, Milam, Frank, Clyde, and Joe MORTON, and Morris MORTON, Greenville, Calif.; and three sisters, Zora BROWN, Muldrow, Vena SANDERS and Verna RAMSEY.  Services were held Monday morning in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with interment in the Seabolt Cemetery at Sallisaw.

DUNN
Lowell Lawrence DUNN, 69, brother of Bob DUNN, of Stilwell, died Sunday in the Tahlequah City Hospital.  DUNN, a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, was a retired barber.  Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Enid DUNN of the home in the Keyes Community: three sons, two daughters, four sisters, 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday in Tahlequah with the Rev. Vern PICKARD officiating. Interment was in the White Oak Cemetery at Qualls.  

SELLERS
Mrs. Luke LOCUST received word that a sister, Mrs. Bessie SELLERS of Lodi, Calif., died Monday, November 11. Other survivors include another sister, Mrs. Nola REEVES, Stilwell; one brother, James CARLILE, Tahlequah; two sons, one daughter; and several grandchildren, all in California.
