Mack C. HAMMETT, one of the most prominent
citizens died at his home near Blackgum, Saturday January 27th, after an
illness of less than a week's duration, of pneumonia. Mr. Hammett for years
was the leader among the democrats of his community and served as precinct
committeeman of Blackgum township since statehood. During the recent term
of criminal court Mr. Hammett served as a juror. He was a member of the Masonic
lodge and was past master of the Blackgum lodge. He was about 50 years of
age at the time of his death.

McAULIFF
John Patrick Sr., age 59, born Feb 28, 1925, died Monday, Sept 17, in Sallisaw,
OK. He was a retired law enforcement chemist for the Okla. State Bureau of
Investigation. John was a graduate of St. Gregory's High School and received
his degree from Okla. City University. He served his country in WWII with
the US Navy, and was a member of the Okla. Sheriff and Peace Officer's Assn.
John was a loving and caring husband and father, and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, 2 daughters, , 2 sons, a sister and
8 grandchildren.
Wake services will be at 7:30pm Wednesday, Sept 19 at the Smith & Kernke
Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am Thursday at the Cathedral of Our
Lady of Perpetual Help, with interment in the Resurrection Cemetery.
