BISHOP
Aged Seminole Resident Killed By Train
William H. Bishop, age 84 years of Seminole City, was killed by the Rock Island passenger train #43, one mile East of Shawnee Oklahoma Tuesday Evening at about 4pm.. He had started to walk back to Seminole when he was struck by train. The engineers had spotted him and gave him warning. They thought he had cleared but he has struck and knocked down by the engine. Both arms were broken, his chest was caved in and his skull was fractured.
Mr Bishop father of 12. The deceased was the father of W.A. Bishop, District Attorney of Seminole and grandfather of Homer W. Bishop, Assistant Attorney of the county.
According to W.A. Bishop his father had been visiting a daughter in Drumwright,( Mrs. Josie Stout )and was on his way home. In Shawnee he was told the train would not stop in Seminole, so he started to walk the distance down the tracks when he was struck.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Seminole Wednesday followed by burial at Maple Grove Cemetery Seminole Oklahoma.

Andrew WISEY, 18-year-old youth of Bowlegs, is in a Wewoka hospital while Dave WALKER, 18, Bowlegs, is being held in county jail pending the   condition of his brother-in-law.

Emmett HONEYCUTT, who died alone in a room here will be buried by the county.

Charles WILLIAMS, Tony BISHOP and Jim BURRIS were excused from school to go to court in Wewoka.

Taylor WHITE, Seminole city mail carrier went to Wilberton accompanied by his wife to attend services for Mike MCCASHEY, brother of Mrs. Taylor who was killed in a tragic mine explosion that took a toll of 15 lives on Saturday.   Taylor WHITE, Mike MCCASHEY, Mrs. Taylor   "Doc" BOLEY, veteran black peace officer in the Lima community, is dead and two young blacks are in county jail at Wewoka facing trial for murder....

A Wewoka hospital has an eight-pound baby girl last night, but not in the hospital. Who the mother is, is puzzling hospital authorities. The baby was found by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. WILSON

William Marion DUNCAN 77, died at his residence south of Seminole,Friday morning.
He is surived by his wife Medora DUNCAN and four sons Wesley P. DUNCAN,Seminole; Willie DUNCAN Taft,Calif; J. DUNCAN Cosa Grande Ariz; Pvt. Waldon DUNCAN Camp Hulen Texas. Daughters, Mrs Bertha RAMER, Clinton,Ark; Mrs Mary OWENS,Tulsa; Mrs.Maggie LEASER, Asher,Okla: Mrs. Trixie WRIGHT, Taft Calif. Fourty-two grandchildr great-great -grandchildren.
Services are pending arrival of relatives. Chadick Funeral Home will be in charge

Funeral services were to be held at 2 pm today for William Marion DUNCAN 77 year old Seminole resident who died at his home Friday morning.
Burial was in the Vamoosa Cemetery,Chadwick Furneral Home was in charge.

EASTES John
Graveside services at the Konawa cemetery for John L. EASTES, 83, were monday, at 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home. Mr. EASTES died saturday, March 3 at his residence, 209 a west 2nd. officiating was the Rev. Arvle Knight.
Mr. EASTES was born to Morris EASTES and Inez GARVER Eastes on March 15, 1900, and had lived here most of his life.
He is survived by one niece, Jane.

Arvel (Cadillac) Joseph HUGHES born Jan.14,1913 to John Joseph and Lannie Leonora (REYNOLDS) HUGHES. He lived most of his live in Seminole, Co.
On 20 Sept., 1948 he married Era Wanna CRAVENS in Bentonville, Ark. He was a veteran of WWII .  He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church of Bying,Ok.
He was survived by one sister, Eva, one step-son and  2 grandchildren.

Note: Mr Hughes was the most decorated medical corps soldier in the 1st Cavalry Division (on Luzon).He was awarded the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and the Purple Heart Medal.  This man was my Uncle. My Dad's brother.

York Service Set For Wolf School
Services for Andrew YORK, 70, longtime Seminole county resident who dies Thursday morning at his home will be held in the Wolf cemetery under direction of the Seminole -ville-Swenringen Funeral Home.
York a retired farmer was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife Eva York of the home, a son Curtis York of Seminolem, a daughter Mrs Ted KIRBY of Seminole; a brother Dan York of Ada, and sister Mrs A.B. CHILCOAT of Sulphur, and Mrs David POPE and Mrs Oscar DAMRON both of Okla City. Bearers will be Ed MASON, Ott MOLLITER, Andy DEEMER, John STOVALL, Hulett EDGMON and Virgil BIGGERS.

Oscar York, Maud, Is Taken By Death
Funeral services were being arranged today for Oscar YORK, 23 of Maud, who died yesterday at Eastern Okla. State Tuberculosis sanitarium in Talihina after 6 months stay there. Sevices will be held at Wolf but the exact times is pending word from relatives in Ohio.
York was the son of Mr and Mrs Andrew York , south of Wewoka. He was the brother of Mrs Ted KIRBY, 544 West College and the nephew of Mr and Mrs John THOMAS, 535 West Simpson.
