Finds Happiness In Old Age
Sarah Evelyn Rooks Moffett
After seeing 98 years pass by, Mrs. Sarah Evelyn MOFFETT still finds a great
deal of pleasure in living. In 1833 Mrs. Moffett moved to Barnsdall, Oklahoma
from Missouri and has lived there ever since. She is an active church worker
and does not believe in medicine of any kind. She has not taken a drop of
medicine for 44 years. She now has 45 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren
and 4 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Moffett has lived alone, until the last year, since the death of her
second husband in 1911.

Ida May CUMINGS HAWKINS was born February, 24, 1883, at Hoyt,
Oklahoma and departed this life November 1, 1931 at Pawnee, Oklahoma, at
the age of 48 years, 8 months, and 8 days.
In 1898 at the age of 16 she was united in marriage to Nase Southard and
to this union were born six children one having preceded her in death in
infancy and the remaining are namely; Engle, Eva, Archie, Almyra and
Jentry.
On October 16, 1917 she was married to Isaac Daniel Hawkins of Pawnee, Oklahoma.
To this union were born four children; Sylvia, Kenneth, Nick, and
Raymond.
At an early age she professed faith in Christ uniting with the Pentecostal
church and lived a true and faithful Christian life until death.
She was a true and loving mother and wife and a loyal friend, always spreading
sunshine but never complaining.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Isaac D. Hawkins, nine children;
Engle Southard, Clovis, New Mexico; Archie Southard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;
Mrs. Eva Crowl and Mrs. Almyra Schutt of Los Angeles, California; Jentry
Southard of Klamath Falls, Oregon; Sylvia, Kenneth, Nick and Raymond Hawkins
of Pawnee; a mother-in-law, a father-in-law, six grandchildren, tow
daughters-in-law, six nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Wednesday at the Pentecostal church
by Rev. J. M. Williams, interment was made in the Highland cemetery by Brady
and Poteet.
