BUNNY
Lucille BUNNY was born April 16, 1919 in Dustin. She died January 27, 1988.
Funeral services were held February 1 at the Thewarle Indian Baptist Church
where she attended church. No other information was given about her funeral
or interment.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James BUNNY, on February 20, 1983.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert MENDOZA of East Port, Maine, Durango
MENDOZA of Oak Park, IL, and Gaines R. BUNNY of Henryetta; her four daughters,
Margo SMITH of Woodville, AL, Elizabeth INGRAM of Henryetta, Roselynn FRYE
of Tulsa, and Marion FRYE of Del City; three sisters, Lovella BRUNER of Dustin,
Mary COLBERT of Seminole and Eula SMITH of Tulsa; and 21 grandchildren.
JOHNSON
Cecelia Ann Noblin JOHNSON was born August 10, 1901, in Jefferson County,
Missouri. She died January 28, 1988. She was a member of Silver Springs Baptist
Church. Graveside funeral services were held at Salt Creek Cemetery officiated
by Rev. Arnetta OWENS. It is presumed that she was interred at Salt Creek
Cemetery. No other information was given on her funeral or interment.
She was survived by three nieces, Maggie HOLMAN of Bryant, Eva PETERSON of
Henryetta, and Wanda CANTRELL of Tulsa; and two nephews, James BAKER of
Henryetta, and Johnny MABEN of Rolla, MO.
TARPALECHEE
Elizabeth TARPALECHEE was born June 16, 1922 in Sharp Community. She died
January 30, 1988, in Okmulgee. Wake services were held February 1 at the
Buchanan Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thomas LONG officiating. Funeral services
were held February 1 in the Big Cussetah Methodist Church officiated by Rev.
Willie GOODEN. Grandsons and son-in-laws served as pallbearers. No information
was given on where she was interred.
She was a member of Big Cussetah Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's
Association, and a native of Okmulgee County.
Surviving her were her husband, Henry TARPALECHEE of the home; her two sons,
Edward TARPALECHEE and Yarne TARPALECHEE, both of Okmulgee; her five daughters,
Twyla BEAVER of Henryetta, Cheryl GRAYSON of Beggs, Henrietta JACOBS of Tulsa,
Tina TARPALECHEE of Morris, and Teresa JENNINGS of Okmulgee; a half-brother,
Roman KINARD of Pauls Valley; a sister, Martha BERRYHILL of Oakland, CA;
10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
WILLIAMS
Dennis Michael WILLIAMS was born September 5, 1951, in St. Louis, MO. He
died February 11, 1988, at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. He was a Bio-Med
Tech at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Muskogee. Funeral services
were held February 13 at the First Baptist Church in Checotah with Rev. Thompson
BILLY officiating. Pallbearers were Don PEEL, Jerry HAMON, Verbon WILLIAMS,
Ronnie ELLER, Gene JONES, and Jesse RHODES. Honorary pallbearers were Kermit
WILLIAMS, Calvin MOORE and Steve GROSS. No information was given on his
interment.
He was survived by his wife, Pamela J. Hill WILLIAMS of the home; three children,
Brett WILLIAMS, Brent WILLIAMS, and Brigett WILLIAMS, all of the home; his
father, Bennie H. WILLIAMS of Muskogee; his mother, Christine W. MEAD of
Oktaha; grandparents, John and Lula GOINES of Onapa; four brothers, Bennie
R WILLIAMS of Muskogee, Garry WILLIAMS of Oktaha, Ronnie WILLIAMS of Muskogee,
and Tom CROFTCHEK of Keefeton; two sisters, Beverly WILLIAMS of Tahlequah,
and Phyllis WILLIAMS of Muskogee; and his mother and father-in-law, Gene
and Joan HILL of Oktaha.
PIGEON
Robert PIGEON was born June 4, 1920, in Hanna. He died February 9, 1988,
in Tulsa. Funeral services were held February 13 at the Trenton Indian Baptist
Church. No other information was given on his funeral or interment.
His survivors include his wife, Velma PIGEON of the home; his eleven children,
Tuffie PIGEON and David PIGEON, both of Oklahoma City, Sonny PIGEON of Seminole,
Esther GRAY of Wewoka, Paul PIGEON of Dallas, Bobby PIGEON of Sulphur, and
Oscar PIGEON, Dennis PIGEON, Stella PIGEON, Lela PIGEON nd Adam PIGEON, all
of Dustin; one sister, Lena PROCTOR of Hanna, and one uncle.
HARJO
Josephine HARJO was born November 5, 1955, in Oklahoma City. She died February
5, 1988, at Okemah. Funeral services were held February 10 at her home in
Hanna. No other information was given on her funeral or interment.
Her survivors include her mother, Gladys HARJO of Hanna; her four brothers,
Samuel HARJO of Oklahoma City, Phillip HARJO, Nathaniel HARJO and Eugene
HARJO, all of Hanna; three sisters, Lillian TIGER of Oklahoma City, Louise
HARJO of Davenport, and Esther BILLY of Hanna; and her maternal grandparents,
Samuel and Alice JACKSON of Vernon.
TORRES
Ethel Mae TORRES was born December 21, 1922, in Weleetka. She died February
12, 1988, in Okemah. Funeral services were held at the Weleetka First Baptist
Church with Rev. George JESSE, Frank BELVIN and Grant WYSE officiating. Interment
followed at the Robison Family Cemetery in Weleetka under the direction of
Buckley-Williamson Funeral Home.
She was married to Joseph TORRES in 1945 and they made their home in southern
California until his death in 1968. Also preceding her in death was her daughter,
Dorothy TORRES, in 1963, two sisters and two brothers.
Her survivors include her other children, Michael TORRES of Guthrie, Donna
CAMPBELL of North Hollywood, CA, and Barbara ALMSTEAD of Bellevue, WA; a
brother Charles Ray COLEMAN of Van Nuys, CA; sisters, Mildred APPLE of Bethany
and Dorothy BURDEN of Weleetka; eight grandchildren and eight nieces and
nephews.
BEN
Willie BEN was born April 12, 1931. He died February 7, 1988, at his home.
Funeral services were held February 10 at the Hutchachuppa Indian Baptist
Church, where he was a member. No other information was given on his funeral
or interment.
He was a resident of Weleetka. He is survived by three nieces, Susie REEDER
of Midwest City, Helen TIGER of Weleetka, and Jenetta HARJO of Colorado Springs,
CO; and one nephew, George DAVIS of Oakland, CA.
FIXICO
Billy FIXICO was born February 22, 1934, in Okfuskee County. He died February
15, 1988, in the Creek Nation Community Hospital. Funeral services were held
February 18 at Prairie Springs Church with Rev. Joe SMITH officiating. Interment
was in the Prairie Springs Church Cemetery under the direction of Webbs Funeral
Service.
He was survived by his wife, Serida Hicks FIXICO, of the home; and his seven
children, Myron FIXICO, Manuel FIXICO, Alan FIXICO, Curtis FIXICO, Scotty
FIXICO, William FIXICO, Jr., and Tracy FIXICO, all of Okemah; his mother,
Mattie FIXICO of Castle; his brothers and sisters, Jeanetta SMITH, Sandy
FIXICO, Benny FIXICO, Richard FIXICO, Lloyd FIXICO and Kenneth FIXICO, all
of Okemah, Edith BANEY of Heartsville, MO, Arthur FIXICO of Altus, and Jimmy
FIXICO of Sacramento, CA; three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
THOMAS
Albert THOMAS was born January 1, 1914, in Hughes County. He died February
4, 1988. Evening services were held February 6 in the Buchanan Memorial Chapel
with Rev. B. Frank BELVIN officiating. Funeral services were held February
8 in the Salt Creek Indian Baptist Church at Wetumka, where he was a member.
He was employed by the Creek Nation. Previous to moving to Okmulgee 15 years
ago, he had lived in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by a son John
THOMAS.
He was survived by his wife, Bernice THOMAS, of the home in Okmulgee; two
sons, John Nelson THOMAS of Red Oak, TX, and Loy David THOMAS of Dallas,
TX; four daughters, Peggy LYDA, Carolyn S. THOMAS, Lois R. THOMAS, and Reba
J. THOMAS, all of Okmulgee; half brother, Ray THOMAS of Tulsa; two half sisters,
Millie LITTLE of Cromwell, and Emilie BUTLER of Wetumka; 14 grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
DEERINGWATER
John K. DEERINGWATER was born March 17, 1940 in Braggs. He died January 12,
1988 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Funeral services
were held January 18 at VAH-KI Presbyterian Church on the Gila River Indian
Reservation, Casa Blanca, AZ, with Rev. Joe Smith officiating. No information
was given on his interment.
He had moved from Braggs to Okemah in 1946 then later made his home in Mesa,
AZ. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. His parents were Henry and Louise
DEERINGWATER, who are deceased.
His survivors include his wife, Richenda Milda DEERINGWATER; his three children,
Johnny Ray DEERINGWATER, Cindy Kay DEERINGWATER, and Linda Tarness DEERINGWATER,
all of the home; his brothers, Alex DEERINGWATER of Bristow, George Lee
DEERINGWATER of Show Low, AZ; sisters, Susanna BEAR, Rosalie DEERINGWATER
of Okemah, and Lavena PEARSON of Stilwell; one aunt, Susie GAMMILL of Okemah;
and many friends, relatives, nieces and nephews.
PROCTOR
Zeak PROCTOR was born August 13, 1912. He died in 1988 at the age of 74 in
the Wewoka Memorial hospital. No death date or funeral date was given other
than he died on Thursday and services were Monday. Funeral services were
held at Salt Creek Indian Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial
was in the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson Funeral Home.
He was a resident of Hughes County all his life and was a great fan of gospel
singing. He was a retired produce manager and a veteran of World War II.
He married Ella Mae JOSHUA in September, 1935 in Muskogee. She preceded him
in death July 16, 1973. Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Ruby
Catherine PROCTOR, in 1983; one brother, Robert PROCTOR, in March 1979.
His survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Shirley PROCTOR
of Bartlesville; three grandchildren, James PROCTOR and Davina PROCTOR, both
of Bartlesville, and Deon McDANIEL of Moore; and one special dear and close
friend, Anna Mae WALKER of Seminole.
BURGESS
Edward Nolan (Buck) BURGESS was born January 27, 1913, in Schulter. He died
January 22, 1988. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Paradise,
CA. Graveside services were held January 19 at the West Lawn Cemetery in
Henryetta, . No other information was given about his funeral. It is presumed
that he was interred at West Lawn Cemetery.
In a related article of his death, Muscogee Nation News reported other
information on Buck Burgess' life and death. His father was Eddie BURGESS,
a one time World's Champion calf roper who was killed at a rodeo in Cheyenne,
WY, when Buck was 10 years old. Buck's mother was Hettie Henry BURGESS whose
father was a Creek cattleman and founder of the city of Henryetta. Buck
contracted scarlet fever at fourteen months and was nursed back to health
by his grandmother, Yannah BURGESS, using her knowledge of herbs . The bout
left him with a hearing loss and speech impediment, but with his fortitude,
neither handicap kept him from being a success. He became a marksman with
a bow and arrow and a snake dancer at Nichols Park in Henryetta. He travelled
as a performer with the Johnny Guthrie show from Muskogee, performing in
Madison Square Garden, and in Vicksburg, MS, before then General Eisenhower.
He joined a Wild West Show in California and acquired the stage name "Chief
Lone Eagle." Before he died, he requested that the stage regalia he created
and wore be donated to the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City and that
his body be returned to Oklahoma for burial
He was survived by his two sons, Eddie BURGESS of Oklahoma and Edward BURGESS
of Anchorage, AK; three daughters, Edwanna PARTIAN of La Puente, CA, Sandra
LaVEAU of Paradise, CA, and Mary ROMELFANGER of San Jose, CA; three
half-brothers, Scott SMITH of Indianapolis, IN, William SMITH of Stockton,
CA, and Hugh SMITH of Clearwater, FL; three half-sisters, Pauline COOK of
Edmo, MT, Betty BREEDING of Granite, and Juanette HENRY of Martinez, CA;
12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

FRANK
Clara Belle FRANK was born March 17, 1906, in Kenefic community, Oklahoma
Indian Territory. She died February 22, 1988, in the Henryetta Medical Center.
Funeral services were held February 25 at the Arbeka Methodist Church west
of Okemah, where she was a member. Rev. Mike HARJO officiated. No other
information was given on her funeral or interment.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Anna Rudeen REEVES on February 23,
1978.
She and her husband, Cornelius E. FRANK lived on their farm west of Okemah.
He survives. Other survivors include three grandsons, Charlie A. REEVES of
Okemah, Hoyle Wade REEVES of Dallas, TX, and Kenneth Dale REEVES of Okemah;
six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
HARJO
William HARJO, Jr., was born April 20, 1959. He died March 6, 1988, in a
Tulsa hospital. Funeral services were held March 9 under the direction of
Shurden Funeral Home. No other details were given about his death, funeral,
or interment. He is survived by his wife, Joanna HARJO, of the home; his
four children, Jonathan HARJO, Bill HARJO, Shelley HARJO, and Christie HARJO,
all of the home; his parents, William HARJO of Holdenville, and Eileen HOBIN
of Wetumka; three brothers, Floyd HARJO of Choctaw, Vincent HARJO of Holdenville,
and Cletis CULLY of Wetumka; his sister, Loretta HOBIN of Wetumka; and his
grandmother, Nora BRUNER of Wetumka.
ALBERT
Waddie L. ALBERT was born April 21 sometime in the late 1880s in Okemah,
Indian Territory. He died February 25, 1988. Funeral services were held February
29 in the Arbeka Indian Baptist Church with Rev. John Lowe officiating.
Pallbearers were Eddie ROBISON, James MORGAN, Ron THOMPSON, Kenneth BLAIR,
Gary FLEETWOOD and J.R. GARDENHIRE. Full military honors were conducted by
members of the Okmulgee VFW Post 1189, where he had been the oldest living
member. No place of interment was given.
He died at approximately 101 years old. He was a veteran of World War I and
a member of High Springs Baptist Church.
His survivors included one son, Virgil C. ALBERT of Tucson, AZ; five daughters,
Lillian LEYBAS, Gladys LANDSBERRY, Joan DAGGETT and Sue WHITE, all of Okmulgee,
and Nancy KALER of Weleetka; 36 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and
two great-great grandchildren.
HARDRIDGE
Shawney HARDRIDGE was born September 6, 1907 in the Pickett area. He died
January 31, 1988, at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center, Sapulpa. Funeral services
were held at the Pickett United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
Interment was at the Hardridge Family Cemetery of Kellyville. No other
information on his funeral was given.
He was a resident of Okmulgee. He was survived by his wife of the home, Annie
HARDRIDGE; and his six children, Shawney HARDRIDGE, Jr. of Fremont, CA, Nellie
WHITTEN and Linda WATKINS, both of Anderson, SC, Janice O'SHIELDS of Sapulpa,
Susanna GRAYSON of Okmulgee, and Rowena TARPALECHEE of Morris.
TIGER
George J. TIGER, 79, died March 22, 1988. No information was given on his
date or place of birth. Indian Prayer Service was held March 24 at the Leonard
Funeral Home Chapel in Bixby. Funeral services and burial were held March
25 at the Regular Baptist Church in Jenks.
Survivors include his wife, Lena TIGER of the home; his children, Jane Cornell
of Rockledge, FL, Delores FREEMAN of Fayetteville, NC, Connie Mack TIGER
of Glenpool, Daniel TIGER of Tulsa; his sister Winey HARJO of Bristow; and
four grandchildren.

ROBERTS
Rev. Harley ROBERTS, Sr., was born April 23, 1923, in Okfuskee County. He
died April 14, 1988, at his home east of the Last Chance community in Okfuskee
County. Funeral services were held April 18 at the Nuyaka Indian Church with
Rev. George DOYLE of Coweta officiating. Interment was in Nuyaka Church
Cemetery.
He married Elizabeth MASHBURN on July 19, 1961. She survives. Other survivors
include his four sons, Harley G. ROBERTS and Amos ROBERTS, both of Okemah,
Sammy ROBERTS of Rattan, and Mitchell ROBERTS of Aurora, IL; his six daughters,
Nellie ROBERTS, Rosie ROBERTS, Louise McNAC and LaDonna BEACH, all of Okemah,
Martha FIXICO of Castle, and Lucy Mae CLOUD of Bristow; one brother, Stanley
ROBERTS of Okmulgee; two sisters, Ina HICKS and Susie GAMMILL, both of Okemah;
33 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
MCGIRT
Hepsey McGIRT was born September 3, 1908, in Coweta, Wagoner County. She
died March 23, 1988, at the Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa. Funeral
services were held March 26 at the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church. Officiating
the service were Rev. Jonas PARTRIDGE and Rev. Christopher HARJO. Pallbearers
were Otho LITTLE, David (Sonny) McKINNEY, Leonard HARJO, Bobby MORGAN, Donnie
ASBURY and Howard TYLER, Jr. Interment was in the Wetumka Cemetery.
She was a member of the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church and served as society
deaconess and Women's Chairman. She enjoyed hymns in both Creek and English
and her favorite hymn was "Mumis Komvkes."
She married Isaac McGIRT on April 14, 1937. He precede her in death on February
26, 1959, as did two of their sons, Dan McGIRT on January 5, 1972, and John
Thomas McGIRT on January 21, 1978. She was survived by one son, David McGIRT
of Wetumka; four daughters, Irene McQUEEN, Rachel ASBURY, Darlene MORGAN
and Deborah McGIRT, all of Wetumka; six brothers, Jake MARSHALL of Wewoka,
Jim MARSHALL of Shawnee, George MARSHALL of Dustin, and Paul MARSHALL, Louis
MARSHALL and Joe MARSHALL, all of Wetumka; seven sisters, Ella HERIOD of
Holdenville, Martha WELLS of Okemah, Christine HARJO and Mary LANDSBERRY,
both of Henryetta, and Annie TIGER, Ruth HARJO and Mimmie MARSHALL, all of
Wetumka; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
WOOD
Jesse E. WOOD was born December 12, 1966, in Claremore, but lived all his
life in Sapulpa. He died April 29, 1988, at his home. Prayer services were
held May 2 and the funeral services were conducted May 3 by Rev. Paul NICHOLS,
Rev. Jonas PARTRIDGE, and Rev. Tom LONG. Both services were held at the Pickett
Indian Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Kelly NICHOLS, Paul NICHOLS, Jr.,
David BROOD, Henry HUGHES, Randel HOUSTON, and Mike HOUSTON. Honorary pallbearers
were the coaches of Sapulpa High School. Interment was at the Hardridge Family
cemetery, south of Sapulpa, under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.
He had been an outstanding athlete and active in both football and baseball
at Sapulpa High School where he was a 1985 graduate. He was injured in a
diving accident in the summer of 1984, and as a result became a paraplegic
and respiratory dependent until his death at age 21.
He is survived by his mother, Frances WOOD, of the home; stepfather Roy Joe
VANZANT of Sapulpa; step grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.M. VANZANT of Willow;
his brothers Jim DeGRAFFENREID of Sapulpa, and Kenneth WOOD of Oklahoma City;
and his sisters Carrie WATTS and Julie WOODS, both of Sapulpa.
HARRY
Sally Scott HARRY was born February 6, 1894, in Bryant. She died April 6,
1988, in Bristow. Funeral services were held April 9 at the Choska United
Methodist Church in Bristow with Rev. Jess Sullivan, assisted by Rev. Mike
HARJO, officiating. Interment was in the family cemetery in Bristow.
She had moved from Bryant to Bristow in 1911. She had been a longtime member
of Choska Church where she became one of the Mothers of the Church and Communion
Steward for the Lord's Supper there. She was the daughter of Turner and Sukey
SCOTT. In 1929 she was married to Eddie HARRY. He preceded her in death in
1967.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lillian McKAY of Bristow and Louella
MILLER of Grapevine, TX; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and
many nieces, nephews, and friends.
CHILDRESS
Robert Wesley "Chief" CHILDRESS was born July 2, 1887, in Coweta. He died
March 30, 1988, in a Victoria, TX , hospital. Funeral services were conducted
April 2 at the Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services were also held at
Restwood Memorial Park, Lake Jackson, TX, with the Rev. Jim SHAMBURGER
officiating.
At the time of his death at 100, he was the oldest fullblood Indian of the
Creek Nation. He was a descendant of Will Rogers and had been a World Champion
calf roper and second runner-up in the saddle bronc competition in 1928.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis B. and Ellen Kernels CHILDRESS,
and his wife, Florence Elizabeth Webster CHILDRESS. He is survived by his
four daughters, Eloise MORRIS of Pawhuska, Betty THURSBY of Hahira, GA, Bobby
STOEBER of Victoria, TX, and Bonnie FISHER of Basrop; his two sons, Walter
CHILDRESS of Spring Branch, and Ralph CHILDRESS of Freeport; his four brothers,
Anderson CHILDRESS of Broken Bow, Owen CHILDRESS of Tulsa, Ellis "Buck" CHILDRESS
of Sealy, and Ernest CHILDRESS of Coweta; twelve grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.

CHOATE
Ronald Joe CHOATE was born February 8, 1965, in Tulsa. He died at St. Francis
Hospital from injuries sustained in a car-motorcycle accident in Tulsa. No
information was given on the date of his death, funeral or interment. Three
services were held for him. Wake services were held in the home by members
of the Broken Arrow Indian United Methodist Church. All night services were
held at the Pickett Prairie United Methodist Church in Sapulpa, where he
was a member. These services were conducted by Rev. Earl DUNSON, Rev. Floyd
PETERS, and Rev. Steve SHELL. Special music was presented by Nigiel BIGPOND.
Funeral services were held at the Pickett Prairie Chapel officiated by Rev.
Thomas LONG and Randy KURTZ of the El Shaddai Church in Coweta. Pallbearers
were Ozzie MOORE, Ellis HORNE, Roger PITCOCK, Scott MILLER, Jack GRAYSON,
Don RYDER, Thomas NOWLIN, Mark NOBLES, Gary NOBLES and Gary TULSA.
Interment was in the Pickett Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Smith
Funeral Home in Sapulpa.
He was of the Choctaw-Euchee-Creek tribes. He attended Tulsa and Coweta public
school, the Talking Leaves Job Corps of Tahlequah and the Tulsa Job Corps.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Sakie BIGHEAD in 1983.
His survivors include his daughter, Vanessa CHOATE; his mother Gloria WARE
of Coweta, step-father Charles WARE of Pawhuska; and his father Thomas CHOATE
of Tulsa; his grandparents, Mae and July TULSA of Tulsa; one brother, Gebon
CHOATE of Coweta; two sisters, Nerissa LOWE and Myna CHOATE, both of Coweta;
two nieces, Christina and Calen; one nephew Malachi; four aunts, Marilyn
TULSA of Arlington, VA, Genelle MYER and Juanita THOMPSON, both of Mounds,
Tony TULSA of Long Beach, CA; and one foster uncle, Garry BERRYHILL of San
Diego, CA.
TIGER
Frank Allen TIGER was born September 17, 1934, in Wetumka. He died July 6,
1988, at his home in California. Funeral services were held July 11 under
the direction of Richard Pierce Funeral Service in Napa, CA. No information

John MORTENSEN. Interment was at the Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, CA.
He was raised and educated in Richmond, CA, and was active in high school
sports. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 550 in San Pablo,
CA, Machinist Union Lodge No. 68, and International Association of Machinists
in Daly City, CA.
He was survived by his father, Grover C. TIGER of Napa, CA; his mother, Lois
TIGER of Napa, CA; two sisters, Louise SNOPEL of Napa, CA, and Deanna PROGLIO
of San Pablo, CA; and two brothers, Eddie TIGER of Oklahoma City and Raymond
TIGER of Napa, CA.
SPURLOCK
Jerry Lee SPURLOCK was born May 11, 1942, in Henryetta. He died July 3, 1988,
at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held July 6 at
Little Coweta Indian Baptist Church, where he was a member. Services were
officiated by Rev. Daniel PHILLIPS. Pallbearers were Russell REED, Russel
LANHAM, Pete POLARD, Robert McGUIRE, Randy LEEPER and Bill NIXON. Interment
was at the Leena Cemetery under the direction of Merritt Funeral Service.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a truck driver by profession. He was
preceded in death by his father, Bennet SPURLOCK in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Raquel "Rickie SPURLOCK of the home; his
mother Doris SPURLOCK of Eufaula; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen Lee and
Delores SPURLOCK of Stidham; two stepsons, Gary GEORGE of Wetumka, and Ricky
GEORGE of Jewitt City, CN; three brothers, David SPURLOCK of West Covina,
CA, Alvin L. SPURLOCK of Sapulpa, and John R. SPURLOCK of Muskogee; a sister,
Ginger LANHAM of Vian; and two grandchildren.
