February 1, 1907
Mrs. Lorina LANGFORD, wife of Mr. C. E.
LANGFORD, died this morning and 1:30 o'clock. Mrs. LANGFORD was Miss VAN
PELT and was from Bowie County, Tex., and had been a resident of Byars about
three years. She is survived by her husband and seven children.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon about 3:30 and the body
will be interred at the Johnson Cemetery.
Submitters Note: Her husband C.E. LANGFORD died a short time later, orphaning
seven children aged 5 to 22. The DAVIS family of Byars/Stratford helped the
older sisters look after the young ones. Lorena Susanna VANPELT LANGFORD
and Caleb Earl LANGFORD are the grandparents of the submitter.

March 8, 1907
Died, John McBride RIPPEE aged 45 years
died about 5 oclock Monday morning after a long illness. Mr. RIPPEE
a resident of Johnson, where he had resided a long number of years. He leaves
a widow, 3 sons 1 daughter to mourn his loss. The remains were interred in
the cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Will RIPPEE was a Wanette visitor
Monday. The small baby of Mr. and Mrs. RIPPEE is on the sick list.

W.D. RIPPEE who has been working in the
oil fields at Cushing for several months returned home the first of the week.
Bill and W.D. RIPPEE left Monday for the Crossroads at which place they are
digging a cristern. A.B. RIPPEE, Jesse LITTLITON, Albert SMITH and Emory
CARR spent an hour at the MCGEEHEE home where music was furnished for their
entertainment.

some point west of this place.

Byars Booster ($.50 a year)
T.E. RIPPEE and daughter, Georgia, left Thursday to attend the Cumberland
Presbyterian Synod which convenes in Amerita, Oklahoma today. Mr. RIPPEE
will return by way of Oklahoma City and buy an up to date barber outfit.
T.E. has opend up a new barber shop in one corner of the Tailor shop, 2nd
door south of Keith Hardware Store.
