WARD
Carl Utah WARD was born May 27, 1930, in Stilwell, Okla., to Charlie Earwood
WARD and Lillie Mae CAPPS WARD, and departed this life Aug. 27, 1998 in Stilwell,
Okla., at the age of 68 years and 3 months.
Carl married Maudie Jewel POOR in Chickasha, Okla., in 1952, and to this
union were born four daughters: Judy, Sandra, Sue and Carlene. Carl was blessed
with ten grandchildren: Daniel, Chad, Darrell, Julie, Jeff, Joe, Lindsey,
Dewayne, Donna and Jason. He also had five great-grandchildren: Joshua, Johnny,
Justin, Jacob and Cody. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Maudie Jewel
WARD; his parents; two brothers, Charlie and Watie WARD; and one sister Zelma
POOR. Carl is survived by his four daughers and their husbands; his grandchildren
and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera and Juanita both of Okla.; one
brother, Floyd of Okla.; a special friend Florence of Okla.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Oak Grove Cemetery
with Bro. Lenard Poor officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart
Funeral Home of Stilwell.
FISHINGHAWK
Jesse FISHINGHAWK, son of Dawes FISHINGHAWK and Sallie SCOTT FISHINGHAWK,
was born June 29, 1929 in Tahlequah, Okla., and departed from this life into
eternity on Aug. 24, 1998 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 69 years,
1 month and 25 days. He was married to Ann Louise LITTLEHEAD in 1953 and
from this union were born six children. He was preceded in death by his father;
wife Ann Louise in 1971; one infant son; and one grandchild.
He is survived by: two sons, Jesse, Jr. of Okla., and Curtis of N.Y.; three
daughters, Kathy of Okla., Dorothy of Mo., and Linda Sue of N.Y.; his mother
Sallie of Okla.; four brothers, Houston, Robert, Tom and Lester, all of Okla.;
three sisters, Rebecca, Susie and Sarah, all of Okla.; 20 grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren;
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 28, at the Fairfield Baptist Church,
and interment followed at the Fairfield Cemetery under the direction of
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
ROSS
Polly ROSS was born July 26, 1915 in Sequoyah County, Okla., the daughter
of James W. and Lila HARDBERGER VANN, and she died Aug. 28, 1998 in Ft. Smith,
Ark., at the age of 83. She was a member of the New Baptist Church. Mrs.
ROSS was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Frank ROSS, in 1975;
one daughter; three brothers, Isaac VANN, Arceum VANN and Bill VANN; three
sisters, Jenny HOTHOUSE, Lizzie VANN and Sifroida GLASS; and one half-brother,
John BYRD.
Survivors include: three sons, William and Charlie of Okla., and Johnson
of Ark.; five daughters, Juanita, Lillie, Susie, Frances and Linda, all of
Okla.; two brothers, Wilson and Johnson, both of Okla.; 34 grandchildren;
great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives,
friends and loved ones.
Funeral services for Mrs. ROSS were held Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the New Baptist
Church in Greasy with Rev. Larry Pritchett and Rev. Ted Qualls officiating.
Interment followed in the Belfonte Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver
Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Pallbearers were James Byrd, Johnny Vann, Jody
Vann, Cornelius Vann, Martin Vann, Jimmy Vann, Watie Vann, Perry Byrd and
Albert Ross. Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Duncan and Rainwater Kimble.
Flower girls were Angela Gonzales, Luck Ketcher, Sisie Cherry, Amy Hooper
and Georgina Pritchett.

DONALDSON
Cheryl Jean DONALDSON, of Westville, was born April 22, 1955 in Joliett,
Ill., to Henry ROBINSON and Francis STANSILL ROBINSON. She departed this
life September 3, 1998 at the Gravette Medical Center in Gravette, Ark.,
at the age of 43 years, 4 months and 11 days.
Cheryl was married to Joe E. DONALDSON, Sr. on August 20, 1981 in Holt, Mo.
She was employed by Baldor Electric in Westville for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Joe of Okla.; her father Henry and step-mother,
Hallie (who helped raise her), of Mo.; her mother, Francis of Mo.; three
daughters, Barbara Ann and Betty Jo, both of Mo., and Kathy of Okla.; three
sons, Joe, Jr. of Mo., Tim of Okla., and Jason of Ark.; three brothers, Henry,
Terry and Jake, all of Mo.; one sister, Cindy, of Mo.; one half-sister, Amy
of Mo.; and eight grandchildren, Troy, Stephanie, Tracy Jo, Evan, Steve,
Kyle, J.D. and Cheyenne.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 5, at the Hart Memorial Chapel
in Westville with Rev. Mike HAYES officiating.
HILL
Memorial services for Cleburn HILL, 85, were held Thursday, September 3,
1998 at the Church of Religious Science in San Jose, Calif.
Mr. HILL was born May 28, 1913 in Stilwell, Okla., the son of Mary Culver
HILL and William Sid HILL. He died August 29, 1998 in San Jose, Calif. He
attended Stilwell Schools, graduating in 1931 from high school. Shortly after
he moved to California, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942, where
he served four years, two years in the South Pacific.
Upon his return from the service, he married Faynell SMITH of Westville Okla.,
in January 1946. They returned to Salinas, Calif., where their son Rodney
was born. Mr. HILL retired in 1980. He was a member of the Salinas Masonic
Lodge, Optimist Club and was very active in Little League.
In San Jose he was a member of Toastmasters, Kiwanis, and was president of
the board of directors of the Church of Religious Science.
Mr. HILL was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Carl HILL and
Glenn HILL; and one sister Mildred HILL.
Survivors include: his wife, Faynell, of the home; one son, Rodney, Sr.;
one grandson, Rodney, Jr.; two granddaughters, Marnie and Erin; two great
grandchildren, Chad and Courtney, all of Calif.; and two sisters, Betty and
Paulene, both of Okla.
Funeral directors were Lima Family, Erickson Mortuary of San Jose, Calif.
KING
Hattie Mae KING, of Proctor, was born February 8, 1926 in Memphis, Texas,
the daughter of Clyde and Bernice JONES PEACE, and she died September 2,
1998 in Tahlequah at the age of 72.
Mrs. KING attended Oakdale Elementary School and graduated from Bagley High
School. Hattie married Lincoln Floyd KING, on June 14, 1948 in Tahlequah.
Mrs. KING was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Lincoln, in
August of 1976.
Survivors include: her mother, Bernice, of Okla.; one son Richard of Okla.;
two daughters, Linda of Okla., and Melba of Ill.; one brother, Dean of Texas;
five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 5, at Reed-Culver Chapel [in
Tahlequah] with Rev. Tommy DUFFIELD officiating. Interment followed in the
Boudinot Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Willie VANN, Randy PEACE, Rick PEACE, Wayne BAILEY, Ken
SECRATT and James SECRATT. Honorary pallbearer was Eugene STOPP.
KOSSA
Funeral services for Sherri Lynn KOSSA will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September
10, at the Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Rev. Audie VAUGHTN officiating.
Interment will follow in the Spade Mountain Cemetery.
She was born December 9, 1958 in Peoria, Ill., to Dewey Ray BUTLER and Emma
Jean LEMASTER BUTLER. She departed this life September 6, 1998 in Siloam
Springs, Ark., following a short illness at the age of 39 years, 8 months
and 27 days. Sherri was of the Pentecostal Faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dewey BUTLER; three brothers, Rick,
Carl and Brian BUTLER; and one nephew, Jimmy Ray BUTLER.
Sherri is survived by: two beloved daughters, Stacey and Charlotte, both
of the home; her mother Emma; two sisters Fay and Debbie; three brothers,
Bill, Larry and Michael, all of Okla.; several nieces, nephews, a host of
relatives, friends and loved ones.
BUTTS
Lora Velma BUTTS, daughter of Oscar Adair GUTHRIE and Cora Anice FORD GUTHRIE
was born February 23, 1904 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, [Indian Territory] and
departed this life to be with her Lord on September 6, 1998 at Muskogee Regional
Medical Center at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 13 days.
Lora married Silas BUTTS who preceded her in death in the mid 1970's. She
was a resident of the Fort Gibson Nursing Home for many years. She was a
very active member of the Baptist Church in both Muskogee and Broken Arrow.
She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and leading othes to the Lord. She was
a bookkeeper and school teacher for years and loved working at the Baptist
Hospital in Muskogee before retirement.
She is preceded in death by both parents, husband Silas and four brothers.
She is survived by: one sister, Wilma of Okla.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, September 9, 1998 at 10:00 a.m.
at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger HANEY of the
First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Stilwell City
Cemetery.

HICKEY
Memorial services for Beverly Gail HICKEY were held Thursday, Sept. 10, at
the Stilwell City Cemetery with Mr. Larry Hatfield and Mr. Joe Smith officiating.
Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Beverly was born April 3, 1944 in Muskogee, Okla., to Warren G. WATKINS and
Doris ROYSTER WATKINS. She departed this live Sept. 7, 1998 in Stilwell,
Okla., at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 4 days. She was a nurse's aide
and was a member of the Church of Christ in Stilwell. She was married to
Danny HICKEY, who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in
death by: her parents; her daughter, Kimberly HICKEY; and her grandparents,
Bruce and Lena WATKINS.
She is survived by: her brother Mike of Colo.; her sister Betty of Wash.;
three nieces, Christie and Julie of Colo. and Sandy of Wash.; one nephew,
Eric also of Wash.; three aunts, Geneva of Wash., Hazel of Calif., and Pat
of Ark.
DEASON
Funeral services for Burl Franklin "Frank" Deason were held Friday, Sept.
11, at the Spade Mountain Church with Bro. Steven Hunter and Bro. Olin Vaughn
officiating. Interment followed in the Spade Mountain Cemetery under the
direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
He was born May 6, 1927 in Adair Co, Okla., to Homer Leslie DEASON and Flora
Elizabeth WALKER DEASON. He departed this life Sept. 8, 1998 in Stilwell,
Okla., at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 2 days. Frank served in the Army
during the Korean Conflict. He married Della Mae O'NEAL on Dec. 24, 1951
in Van Buren, Ark. Frank was of the Holiness faith. He was preceded in death
by: his parents; six brothers, Cecil, Jerry, Arlis, Bruce, Arie and Morris
DEASON; and one sister Patsy DEASON.
Frank is survived by: his wife, Della Mae; two sons, Burl Wesley and Richard
Leon; two granddaughters, Deanna Michelle and Sonya Kay; one stepgrandson,
Richard Anthony; three stepgreat-granddaughters, Veronica, Amber and Elaina;
three brothers, Murl, Billy John and Dee, all of Okla.
HUBBARD
Graveside services for Clarence "Buster" Eugene HUBBARD will be held Thursday,
Sept. 17, at Mollie Fields Cemetery with Rev. Claude McGee officiating. Interment
will be under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Clarence was born Feb. 13, 1921 in Chewey, Okla., to Don and Minnie HUBBARD
and departed this life Sept. 11, 1998, in Roswell, N.M. at the age of 77
years, 6 months and 28 days. He was married June 14, 1963 in Kelso, Wash.,
to Virginia Clarissa KING. Clarence was a cattle rancher and had served in
the Army during W.W. 11. Clarence was preceded in death by: his parents;
three brothers, Lee, Charlie and Don RAYMOND; one stepbrother, Frank WHITMIRE;
two sisters, Juanita and Emma; and one nephew, Don HUBBARD.
He is survived by: his wife; one son, Gary of Ore.; one daughter Diana of
Mont.; one sister, Louise of Calif; one stepsister, Evelyn of N.M.; five
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces Mary, Imajean, Anne, MariLynn
and Janice; and nephews Steven and Jeff.
BEACH
James Carl "Jimmie" BEACH, son of Sherman BEACH and Clara MCGUIRE BEACH,
was born Dec. 22, 1919 in Washington County, Ark., near Cincinnati and departed
this life to be with his Lord on Sept. 7, 1998 at his home near Westville
at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Jimmie married Edith MAPLES on Sept. 22, 1940 and from his union were born
two children: James and Bobby. He attended the first Baptist Church of Westville,
where he was a faithful member for many years. He was preceded in death by
both parents and one sister, Ima Mae HENRY.
He is survived by: his wife, Edith; two sons, James and Bobby, of Okla.;
one brother, Gene of Okla.; one sister Florence of Texas; seven grandchildren,
Johnny, of Ark., Janedith and Christina, both of Texas, Jim Ed of Colo.,
Tommy and Timmy of Okla., and Joe of Kansas. He is also survived by 10
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 10, at the
Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Westville with Bro. Mark Chenoweth officiating.
Interment followed at the Westville City Cemetery under the direction of
Roberts Funeral Home.
BAKER
Margaret Ozel BAKER, daughter of Thomas SELF and Maggie PROCTOR SELF, was
born Jan. 20, 1916 in Tennessee and departed this life to be with her Lord
on Sept. 13, 1998 at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark.,
at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 23 days.
Margaret married L.G. "Buck" BAKER, and from this union were born three children:
Ed, James and one infant that died at birth. Margaret was a homemaker and
loved the duties that followed her role as wife, mother and grandmother.
Some of his favorite hobbies included quilting and gardening. She was preceded
in death by: both parents; her husband; one brother; one sister; and one
infant child.
She is survived by: two sons, Ed and James, both of Okla.; one brother, Tal
of Ala.; two sisters Sybil of Ga. and Edith of Ala.; two grandchildren, Chris
and Lisa; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at the
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Noble Casey
officiating. Interment was to follow at the Bunch Cemetery.
ARNALL
Funeral services for Mary ARNALL, 76 of Tahlequah, will be held at 2 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 17, at the First Assembly of God Church in Tahlequah. Officiating
will be Pastor Kenneth Fent.
Mary was born Sept. 6, 1922 in Ft. Smith, Ark., the daughter of Nellie KIMMERLY
and John Wesley HILL. She departed this life at her residence on Sept. 15,
1998. Mary was preceded in death by: her husband, William Russell ARNALL;
her parents; a sister, Nita GRUBB; and a brother John Henry HILL.
She is survived by: four sons, Charles and Russell, both of Okla., and Johnny
of Mo.; two daughters, Rhonda and Deidra, both of Okla; 12 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leora.
SIEGMANN
Oma WATKINS GREEN SIEGMANN departed this life Sept. 14, 1998 in Stilwell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at the
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Honey
Hill Cemetery.
WAMSLEY
Graveside services for Velma Loraine WAMSLEY were held Monday, Sept. 14 at
the Westville City Cemetery with Rev. Larry Stoops officiating. Services
were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Velma was born Sept. 5, 1910 in Lewis, Kansas, to George JOHNSON and Abbie
MCCLAREN JOHNSON. She departed from this life Sept. 11, 1998 at the Westville
Nursing Home at the age of 88 years and 6 days. She was married to Bob WAMSLEY
on Oct. 31, 1931 in Seminole, Okla., and was a homemaker. She was preceded
in death by: her parents; her husband; and one brother Merle JOHNSON.
Velma is survived by: two sisters, Flora of Okla. and Erma of Kansas.
KELLY
Wiley Lee KELLEY, son of Charley KELLEY and Minnie Bell WOODS KELLEY, was
born June 11, 1905 in Chewey, Okla., and passed from this life into eternity
on Sept. 13, 1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, Okla., at the age of
93 years, 3 months and 1 day.
Wiley married Bertha ROYCE on June 15, 1934 and from this union were born
two children: Elizabeth and Charles. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness
Church. He was preceded in death by: both parents; his wife; son Charles
Levi KELLEY; and two brothers, Johnny KELLEY and Arthur KELLEY.
She is survived by: one daughter Elizabeth of Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services
were held Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Westville
with Bro. Brian Bowerman of Farmington, Ark., officiating. Interment followed
at the Westville City Cemetery.

STEINBUCK
Dora Jane STEINBUCK, know to family and friends as Jane, was born Sept. 1,
1936 at Independence, Kansas, to Forest Merton WALL and Eva Ella JACKSON.
She died Sept. 13, 1998 at Corona Regional Hospital in Corona, Calif., at
the age of 62 years, 1 week and 5 days.
She was married to Marvin Young STEINBUECK Sr. on Feb. 25, 1963. She was
prededed in death by both her parents.
Janes is survived by: her husband Marvin of Calif.; four sons, Gene and Joe
of Okla., Marty of Kansas and Marvin Jr. of Ore.; three daughters, Marsha
and Marlene of Okla. and Mary of Ark.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
seven stepgrandchildren; and three brothers, Forest of Tenn., and Frank and
Keith of Okla.
A memorial service with family and friends will be held Saturday, Sept. 26,
at 2 p.m. at Victory Southern Baptist Church on Hwy. 51 East. Services will
be performed by Rev. Randy Proctor.
GYLES
Tim E. GYLES, Evansville, Ark., was born Dec. 11, 1919 in Weatherford, Okla.,
the son of Thomas William GYLES and Evan SMALLEY GYLES, and passed from this
life Sept. 17, 1998 at Washington Regional Hospital of Fayetteville, Ark.,
at the age of 78 years. Tim was a pastor of Grace Fellowship Church in
Evansville, Ark., and a veteran of W.W.11.
Survivors include: his wife, Martha ABBOTT GYLES of the home; two daughters,
Priscilla of Ark., and Patricia of Okla.; two brothers T.W. of Okla., and
Jack of Calif; three sisters, Elizabeth of Ark., Leona of Ariz., and Cherrol
of Okla.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept 21, at First Assembly of God in Lincoln,
Ark., with interment in the Vineyard Cemetery in Evansville. Services were
under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to Gideons
International. Pallbearers were Tim Bellamy, Jonathan Frazier, Christopher
Frazier, Jason Gross and Jamie Sumner. Honorary pallbearers were L.J. Caswell,
Douglas Cox, Darrell Mattox, Delton Norton and Willis Winkler.
HERN
William Cecil HERN was born May 27, 1914 in Hitchita, Okla., to James Lewis
HERN and Malinda WATERS HERN, and departed this life on earth Sept. 15, 1998
at Memorial Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark., at the age of 84 years, 3 months
and 18 days.
He and Maudie WHITE were married in December 1935, making the Westville area
their home, where he has been a farmer and a rancher for many years. To this
union were born five children: Sharlene, Elaine, Marilyn, David and Larry.
He gave his heart to God in a brush arbor at the age of 29, touching many
lives through the years with his ministry and care for others. He was a faithful
attendee of the Assembly of God Church in Westville. He was preceded in death
by: both parents; daughter Elaine; two brothers, Dennis and Buford; and one
sister Oma TERRILL.
He is survived by: his wife; two sons, David of Mo., and Larry of Ark.; two
daughters, Marilyn and Sharlene, but of Okla.; one sister, Lillian of Okla.;
one brother, Wayne of Calif.; nephew J.V. of Calif.; nine granchildren, Paullita,
Sandy, Stacy, Burl Jr., Sherry, James, Michael, Marty and Kelly; and 15
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 18, at the Roberts Funeral Home
Chapel in Westville with Bro. Mike Hayes officiating. Interment followed
at the Westville City Cemetery.
THURN
Raymond John THURN, son of John and Edith SPENCER THURN, was born June 13,
1920 in Little Port, Iowa, and departed this life to be with his Lord Sept.
18, 1998 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla, at the age of 78 years,
3 months and 4 days.
Ray served his wartime duty in World War 11 and was honorably discharged
near the end of the war. In 1997 Ray met and married Zona CATHER FLUTE and
moved to the Stilwell area. He was preceded in death by: both parents; first
wife, Geraldine; and one sister, Florence HAMLETT.
He is survived by: his wife Zora; two sons, Larry and Scott, both of Mo.;
one daughter Terry of Mo.; one stepson Richard of Okla.; two stepdaughters,
Lawana of Okla, and Phyllis of Mo.; one brother John of Iowa; two sisters,
Marguerite and Doris of Iowa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
and four stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 21 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral
Home chapel with Rev. John Hummingbird officiating. Interment followed at
the Ewing Chapel Cemetery.
SANDERS
Graveside services for Charles Sam SANDERS, 51, of Stilwell, were held Tuesday,
Sept. 22, at Cherry Tree Cemetery with Rev. Sam Nakedhead officiating and
under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers were Charley Holcomb, Henry Holcomb, Oly Holcomb, Joe Holcomb,
Jimbo Feathers and Tom Mose. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Pigeon, Roger
Pigeon and Randy Feathers.
Mr. Sanders was born Jan. 10, 1947 in Stilwell, Okla., the son of Frank and
Fannie SCRAPER SANDERS, and he died Sept. 19, 1998 in Tulsa. Mr. Sanders
attended Cave Springs Schools. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Sanders was
preceded in death by his parents and one sister Nellie SANDERS FEATHERS.
Survivors include: one sister, Hazel of Okla.; one niece Nina of Okla; one
great-niece; two great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
BAIRD
Flora M. REED BAIRD was born Feb. 1, 1907 in Patrick, Ark., to Jacob and
Abby COMBS REED, and departed this life to be with her Lord on Sept. 16,
1998 at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 15
days.
Flora was married to James Abraham BAIRD on Feb. 7, 1925 and from this union
were born 13 children. She accepted the Lord at a Brush Arbor revival in
1935 and she was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by both
parents: husband Jim; two brothers and one sister. She was also preceded
by six sons, Bobby Willard, Allen, Ray, Earl(Shorty), James and Robert (Okie);
one daughter, Gertrude MCMURTRY; three grandchildren, Jim LONG, Eugene BAIRD
and James David BAIRD; and one great-granddaughter, Angela CAMPBELL.
She is survived by: three sons, Curtis, Ed and Johnny, all of Okla.; three

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 18, at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral
Home Chapel with Bro. Aaron Barton officiating. Interment followed at the
Pilgrim Rest Cemetery.
WHEELER
Funeral services for Irene WHEELER were held Friday, Sept. 18, at the Illinois
River Baptist Church in Chewey, Okla., with Rev. Andrew Harlin and Rev. Bill
Drywater officiating. Interment followed in the Crittenden Cemetery under
the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Irene was born Oct. 18, 1937 in Chewey, Okla., to Tom VANN and Lydia CRITTENDEN
VANN. She departed this life Sept. 16, 1998 in Watts, Okla., at the age of
60 years, 10 months and 28 days. She was married to Jerry WHEELER in July
of 1989 in Chewey, Okla. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Illinois
River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant
daughter and two grandchildren.
Irene is survived by: her husband; two daughters, Joann of Okla, and Pokie
of Kansas; four sons, Andrew and Albert, both of Okla. and Wilbert and Jamie,
both of Kansas; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
FOLSUM
Funeral services for Malcom Brent FOLSUM, 47 of Tahlequah, were to be held
at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah with Rev.
Grover James and Rev. Randall Cummings officiating. Interment was to follow
in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to include William Gregory, Jason Ross, Buddy Cooper, Gerald
Wyche, Charles Watson, Robert Watson, Jeff Salazar and Jeff Scott. Honorary
pallbearers were to be Olan Durant, Jr., Richard Folsum, Thomas Billy, Gerald
Tiger, John W. Hamilton and Edward Old Bear, Jr.
Malcom "Bobby" FOLSUM was born Oct. 12, 1950 in Atoka, Okla., the son of
Woodrow and Louise LEFLORE FOLSUM, and he died Sept. 19, 1998 in Tulsa. Mr.
FOLSUM is survived by: his wife, Juanita; one son, John of Okla; three daughters,
Paula Kay, Bobbi Jo and Thresa Ann, all of Okla.; three granddaughters, Bethany
Jo, Amy Nicole and Helen Gayle, all of Okla; four sisters, Melinda, Hazel
and Anna, of Okla., and Joyce of Ariz.; and two brothers, Richard and Olan,
both of Okla.
SIEGMANN
Oma WATKINS GREEN SIEGMANN, daughter of Harley WATKINS and Lilly GARDENHIRE
WATKINS, was born Sept. 7, 1914 in Stilwell, Okla., and departed this life
to be with her Lord on Sept. 14, 1998 at the Stilwell Nursing Home at the
age of 84 years and 6 days.
Oma married Woodrow GREEN June 22, 1932 and to this union were born three
sons: Buster, Bobby Jack and Kenneth Wayne. After Woodrow's death in 1952,
Oma was remarried to Junior SIEGMANN. She was preceded in death by: both
parents; first husband, Woodrow GREEN; and second husbnad Junior SIEGMANN;
one brother, Waco WATKINS; and one sister Elizabeth BAIE.
She is survived by: three sons: Buster of Kansas, and Bobby Jack and Kenneth
Wayne, both of Okla.; two brothers, Dallas of Okla. and Emmett of Wis.; four
sisters, Donna of Okla., Minnie of Ark., Ruby and Mertie, both of Calif.;
seven grandchildren, Brenda Kay and Gary Dewayne of Kansas, Bobby Dale, Vickie,
Michael Wayne, Teressa and Cynthia, all of Okla.; 15 great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thureday, Sept. 17 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Cothren officiating. Interment followed
at the Honey Hill Cemetery.
STACY
Oscar Marion STACY, 96-year-old resident of Decatur, Ark., died Wednesday,
Sept. 16, 1998 at Gravette Manor in Gravette, Ark.
Born Dec. 27, 1901, in Patrick, Ark., he was the son of Tom J. STACY and
Della HALL STACY. Mr. STACY had been a long-time reisdent of the northwest
Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma area. He was a retired poultry farmer, having
worked for Peterson's and Plus Poultry. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Rosie E. WATKINS STACY, in October 1994, and son Marion STACY.
Survivors include: one grandson, Jim of Ark.; one granddaughter, Rita of
Ark.; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Grace
of Kansas and Ellen of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in
Siloam Springs, Ark., with Rev. Kenneth Payne officiating. Interment followed
in Oak Hill Cemetery.
NOFIRE
Rosie Lee NOFIRE, daughter of Thomas BEAMER and Lizzie DOCTOR BEAMER, was
born Nov. 10, 1935 in Tahlequah, Okla., and departed this life into eternity
on Sept. 19, 1998 at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla., at the age
of 62 years, 10 months and 8 days.
Rosie was married to Jack NOFIRE on June 16, 1970 in Stilwell, Okla. She
was preceded in death by both parents; husband Jack NOFIRE in 1993; one daughter;
one brother and one sister.
She is survived by: seven daughters, Louise of Ark., and Velma, Linda, Lucy,
Cindy, Evelyn and Linda, all of Okla.; one son, Donald; three sisters, Melinda,
Pauline and Bertha, all of Okla.; and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Mulberry Tree Church
with Bro. John Snell officiating. Interment followed at the Mulberry Cemetery
under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
