WOLFE
In loving memory of wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, Lucille ROSS
WOLFE
Born the daughter of William ROSS, Sr. and Ina SOAP CHUNESTUDY, Lucille was
born March 13, 1948 in Tahlequah, Okla., Cherokee County, and departed this
life on January 29, 1998 after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by: her mother Ina SOAP CHUNESTUDY; father William
ROSS, Sr.; and stepfather, Robert CHUNESTUDY; one daughter Quattie WOLFE;
one sister Polly Ann ROSS; and three brothers, Charlie ROSS, Sr., Mitchell
James ROSS and Rufus Leroy ROSS.
Lucille is survived by: her husband, Wayne BREWER, of the home; three daughters,
Theresa of Ga., Cherokee and Pauletta, both of Okla; four sons, Scott, Ross,
Bartholomew and Grey all of Okla.; two brothers, James and Bennie, both of
Okla.; nine grandsons, and five granddaughters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 3, at the Cedar Tree Assembly
Grounds in Tahlequah with Reverends Merle and Claude GREGORY officiating.
Interment was at the Cedar Tree Cemetery under the direction of
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.
LONG
Luther Lee LONG, son of Thomas Lacy LONG and Martha Irene BIGBY LONG,
was born April 28, 1918 in Stilwell, Okla., and departed from this life to
be with his Lord on February 1, 1998 at the V.A. Hospital in Fayetteville,
Ark., at the age of 79 years and 10 months.
Luther was married to Mellie Marie WORKMAN LONG on November 12, 1954, and
from this union were born two children - Larry and Garry. Luther served in
the Army in W.W.11 during hte years of 1943 to 1946.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Bill RUSSELL, Frank
RUSSELL, John RUSSELL and Cody LONG; two sister, Lucy RUSSELL CARSON and
Ruby EATON SMITH.
He is survived by: his wife, Mellie, of the home; two sons, Larry and Garry;
one sister, Pauline; two brothers, Enoc and Bruce; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held Wenesday, February 4, at 2 p.m. at the
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Brother Olie HATLEY
officiating. Interment was to follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
LONG
Johnny Edward LONG, son of John LONG and Ida JACKSON LONG, was born October
16, 1918 in Sequoyah County in Okla., and departed this life on January 28,
1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, Okla., at the age of 79 years, 3 months
and 11 days.
Johnny was a retired deputy of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department. He
was a member of the Sooner State Drill Team for 20 years where he was
acknowledged with numerous awards and accommodations.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Raymond, Thomas
and Junior LONG.
Johnny is survived by one son, William Dale; one brother, Gene; three sisters,
Gladys, Nadine and Zelma, all of Okla.; four grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 30, at the Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home Chapel with Joe SMITH of the Stilwell Church of Christ officiating.
Interment was at the Stilwell City Cemetery.
PROCK
William J. "Bill" PROCK, Jr., was born March 11, 1927 in Stilwell, Oklahoma,
to William J. Sr., and Mattie NEWMAN PROCK, and departed this life January
29, 1998 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 17 days.
Bill grew up in Stilwell, graduating from high school in the class of 1945.
He was in the Army during 1945-46. He married Laqueta DOWNING on June 3,
1950 in Stilwell.
He followed his dad's barber profession and was a self-employed barber for
45 years, living in Tulsa since 1947. Bill was of the Baptist faith having
jhoined the First Baptist Church and been baptized at an early age. He was
a member of the Tulsa Masonic Lodge #71, A.F. & A.M. and Tulsa Scottish
Rite.
Mr. PROCK is preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Michael Lee; daughter
Karen Sue; sister Dorothy PROCK WHITE; and brother George.
He is survived by: his wife Laqueta of the home; sister Pat of Ark.; and
brother Jack of Calif.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 2, at Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral
Home Chapel in Stilwell with Brother Roger HANEY officiating. Interment
was at the Stilwell City Cemetery.

CRESS
Stephen Keigh "Stevo" CRESS was born Sept. 16, 1977 at St. Edwards Hospital
in Ft. Smith, Ark., and departed this life on Feb. 7, 1998 at the Sequoyah
Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw, Okla., at the age of 20 years, 4 months and
21 days. Stephen was preceded in death by his grandfather, Neal CRESS, and
his great-grandfather, Tom KEETER.
He is survived by: his mother, Tommie of Okla.; father, Kerry of Ark.; two
sisters, Jennifer of England and Elizabeth of Ark.; his maternal grandparents,
Duward and Betty, and paternal grandmother, Nola, and his maternal
great-grandmother, Margaret, all of Okla.; ten aunts and uncles, and a host
of cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral
Home Chapel. Pastor Richard CRESS officiated. Interment was in the Stilwell
City Cemetery. Funeral services for Daisy COONE, 98, of Stilwell, were held
Friday, Feb. 6, at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel in Stilwell with
Brother Aaron BARTON officiating.
She was born on July 9, 1899 in Missouri, to Elmer NEWBY and Maude CALE.
She passed from this life to be with her Lord on Feb. 3, 1998 at Memorial
Hospital in Stilwell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse
Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Virgil,
Stanley, Chester and Darrell; one sister, Alice; and husband John J. COONE
in 1970.
She is survived by one sister, Althea of Mo.; two step-daughters; and a special
friend and caregiver, Christine, of Okla. Interment was in the Okmulgee Cemetery
following a special graveside committal service.
HITCHER
Graveside services for Eli HITCHER, 50, a lifetime resident of Westville,
were held Sat., Feb. 7, at the Old Green Cemetery under the direction of
Hart Funeral Home of Westville. He was born on March 13, 1947 in Westville
to Robert and Juanita GUINN HITCHER. He died Wed., Feb. 4, 1998 in Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert HITCHER Jr.
He is survived by: three children, Jolene and Rhonda, both of Okla, and Brian
of Ark.; three sisters, Georgann, Jennie and Peggy, all of Okla.; one brother,
Jimmy of Okla.; five grandchildren, Clint, Daniel, Cody, Gerald and Elyse;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Doug PHILLIPS, Raydean MCGOWEN, Larry GUTHRIE, Casey CRITTENDEN,
Clint FADDIS and Clevie ALBERTY. Honorary pallbearers were John GUINN, Leon
KIRK and Gene HILL.
GANN
George GANN, Sr., son of Looney GANN and Daisy KILLER GANN, was born April
15, 1931, in Bunch, Okla., and departed this life to be with his Lord on
Feb. 2, 1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, Okla., at the age of 66 years,
9 months and 17 days. George worked for the Whirlpool Corporation for many
years. He was a member of Rock Fence Church.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; his wife, Mary in 1981; one son,
George GANN, Jr.; two daughters, Mary Ann SISCO and Karen Sue ROBERTS; one
brother, Frank GANN; and three grandchildren.
He is survived by: three sons, Leo and Gary, both of Okla., and Leroy of
Ark.; two daughters, Janice and Debbie Jo, both of Okla.; three brothers,
John, Littlejohn and Tommy, all of Okla.; three sisters, Ella, Sally and
Patsy, all of Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home
Chapel with Brother Frank MINK officiating. Interment followed at the Rock
Fence Cemetery.
HAUGLAND
Linnie Dunn HAUGLAND, 103, passed away at home in Lincoln, Ark., on tuesday,
Feb. 3, 1998.
Linnie was born March 30, 1894 in Liberty Hill, Ark., to Columbus (Lum) GOLDMAN
and Lillie PHILLIPS GOLDMAN.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lelah of Ark, and Lillian of Calif.; one
sister, Clara of Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 36
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 7 in Evansville Community Church in Evansville,
Ark., with Rev. Milton Davis officiating. Interment was in academy Cemetery
in Evansville under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie
Grove, Ark. Pallbearers were William J. EULITT, Jr., James E. FOY, Jr., James
E. FOY, 111, Richard MAYNARD, Floyd WALDROP, and Roger MOUNT.
ROGERS
Funeral services for Rev. Roy Russell ROGERS, Sr., 78, of Stilwell, were
held Monday, Feb. 9, at Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville, Ark., with
Rev. Harry COLE officiating. Interment was in the Tracy Cemetery in Anderson,
Mo., under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
He was born June 30, 1919, in Denver, Colo., to Arthur ROGERS and Vinita
STILLIONS ROGERS. He died Wednesday, Feb. 4, at his home in Stilwell. He
was an Army veteran of World War 11 and was the minister of Stilwell Full
Gospel Church. He was married to Sandra DUKE on Oct. 21, 1983 in Boone County,
Ark.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Evah WYLIE and Helen
LAUGHLIN. He is survived by: his wife Sandra; five sons, Roy, Dick, Bill,
Tommy, all of Ark., and Gwen of Okla.; one daughter, Nancy of Ark.; four
brothers, Ed, Bob, Carroll, and Jim and one sister, Maxine, all of Mo.; 10
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
REINHART
Funeral services for Ida TEHEE REINHART, 78, of Tahlequah, were held Friday,
Feb. 6, at Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Audie Vaughn officiating.
She was born on March 1, 1919 in Adair County, to Littlebird and Sallie CHEWEY
TEHEE. She died Feb. 3, 1998 in Tahlequah. She attended school at Sanders.
She was a lifelong resident of Adair and Cherokee counties. She married Ed
REINHART on Dec. 8, 1965 in Tahlequah. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and
gardening. She attended Prayer House Church in Tahlequah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Houston TEHEE, Andy
TEHEE, Dewey TEHEE and Walter TEHEE; two sisters, Annie WHEELER and Emma
TEHEE; and one grandson, Roy TEHEE.
She is survived by her husband, Ed, of the home; one son, Bob; one daughter,
Marie; one sister Mary; seven grandchildren, Rodney, Robert, Becky, Nena,
David, Steven and Robert, all of Okla.; 15 great-grandchildren; and several
step-children.
Pallbearers were Zach TEHEE, Cody TEHEE, David TAYLOR, Robert "Curley" VANCE,
Danny PRUETT, Robert TEHEE, Daniel PRUETT, Steven VANCE, Danny WILLARD, Preston
PRUETT and Robert VANCE. Flower girls were, Sherri TAYLOR, Velma TEHEE, Becky
PRUETT, Janelle PRUETT, Kerry TEHEE, Nena WILLARD, Talia TEHEE and Jenna
WILLARD.
Burial was in the Freewater Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral
Home in Tahlequah.

Funeral services for Peggy WILLIAMS, 60, of Bunch, will be held Thursday,
Feb. 19, 1998 at the First Assembly of God Church of Bunch with Rev. Azle
LOYD and Rev. Barry CHRISTIE officiating. Burial will follow in the South
Bunch Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of
Tahlequah.
Pallbearers will be Donald PETTIT, Stoney BARNARSKI, Terrell BARNARSKI, Michael
COOKSEY, Felix LIVERS, and Steven OWL. Flower girls will be Cassie DAUGHERTY,
Kristi DAUGHERTY, Angelica DAUGHERTY, Alicia PETTIT, Pam PRITCHETT and Josephine
EAGLE.
Mrs. WILLIAMS was born Feb. 25, 1937 in Bunch, Okla., the daughter of Daniel
and Lizzie VANN OWL, and she died Feb. 14, 1998 in Tulsa. Mrs. WILLIAMS was
reared and educated in Bunch. Peggy married Arthur WILLIAMS in 1950. She
was a member of the Beaver Baptist Church. Mrs. WILLIAMS was preceded in
death by: her parents; two brothers, Joe and Sam OWL; one sister, Mary WATERS;
and one son John Wayne WILLIAMS.
Survivors include: her husband; two daughters, Sue and Janice, both of Okla.;
five grandchildren, Ryan, Jeremy, Koda, Tommy, Jr., and Stephanie, all of
Okla.; one great-granddaughter, Shayna; five brothers, Daylight, Woodall,
Steven, Sam and Daniel, Jr., all of Okla.; and three sisters, Nancy, Lucy
and Nellie, all of Okla.
HOWARD
Graveside services for Sybil L. HOWARD, 76, of Tahlequah, were held Friday,
Feb. 13, with Jim HUCKINS officiating. Burial was under the direction of
Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
She was born on May 29, 1921, in Proctor to George HOWARD and Martha C. PHILLIPS
HOWARD. She died Wed., Feb. 11, at Davis Nursing Home in Tahlequah.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Henry, Robert
and David HOWARD; and two sisters, Maisie NANCE and Addie HENSLEY.
She is survived by: one brother, Marion of Okla.; three nephews, Bill of
Okla., and Robert and Ronald, both of Texas; and two nieces Patricia of Ark.,
and Shirley of Texas.
GUTHRIE
Lenora Mae GUTHRIE, resident of Catoosa, Okla., daughter of Jim SANDERS and
Melinda SELLERS SANDERS, was born August 12, 1927 in Stilwell, Okla., and
departed this life to be with her Lord on Feb. 9, 1998 at St. John's Medical
Center in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 30 days.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roy SANDERS and
Lloyd SANDERS.
Mrs. GUTHRIE is survived by two sons, Gary and Darrell; two brothers, Eddie
and Louie; one sister Emma; her stepmother, Ruby, all of Okla.; nine
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 13, at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral
Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Billy Wayne SANDERS officiating. Interment
was at Sanders Flat Cemetery.
NAKEDHEAD
Funeral services for Clint NAKEDHEAD, Sr., 73, of Stilwell were held Wed.,
Feb. 11, 1998 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. John GONZALIS, Jr. officiating.
Burial was in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral
Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers were Hubert DUNCAN, Jess CHUCULATE, Bill RIDGE, Jody BUNCH, Lee
BUNCH Jr., and Bill CHRISTIE. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie SHELL, Soldier
SHELL, Samuel NAKEDHEAD, Kendal NAKEDHEAD, Danny G. SPOON, and John TIGER.
Flower girls were Mary VANN, Gussie BUNCH, Joann WOFFORD, Louetta JOHNSON,
Margie EAGLE and Carmen NAKEDHEAD.
Mr. NAKEDHEAD was born May 25, 1924 in Adair County, the son of Tom and Josie
COCHRAN NAKEDHEAD, and he went to claim his mansion on Feb. 9, 1998 at his
home in Stilwell. Mr. NAKEDHEAD attended Salem schools. He married Lorene
SHELL on Nov. 17, 1956 in Cherokee County. He was baptized at Salem Baptist
Church and was a member of the Copie Baptist Church.
Mr. NAKEDHEAD was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charlie
DAUGHERTY; and one sister, Nellie.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene of the home; four daughters, Deana of
Texas, Carolyn, Barbara and Shannon, all of Okla.; four sons, Clint Jr.,
Huckleberry, Thomas and Leland, all of Okla.; five adopted children, Dawn,
Brandy, Brian, Sherry and Gary, all of Okla.; a very special caregiver, Margie;
one brother, Rufus of Okla.; three sisters, Edith, Louise and Louella, all
of Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
ROASTINGEAR
Grace MALOY ROASTINGEAR, resident of Stilwell, Okla., formerly of Santa Fe,
New Mexico, daughter of Harve MALOY and Jess FOSTER MALOY, was born January
24, 1919 in Bunch, Okla., and departed this life to be with her Lord after
a lengthy illness on Feb. 10, 1998 at Stilwell Nursing Home at the age of
79 years and 15 days.
After graduating from Northeastern State University and the University of
Oklahoma with a BA and MA and work toward her P.H.D in education, she moved
to New Mexico with her husband and two children and spent the next 25 years
teaching in the New Mexico public school system. She and her husband Julius
enjoyed many years in Indian education in Mesacalero, Zuni and Gallup.
Mrs. ROASTINGEAR is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Julius
ROASTINGEAR, and brother Herbert MALOY.
She is survived by: one son, Julius, Jr. of Colo.; one daughter Barbara of
N.M.; one grandson, Douglas of N.M.; one graddaughter, Mary of Ariz.; and
by four sisters, Ruth and Dora of Okla., Christine of Texas and Gladys of
N.M.
Committal services were held Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the National Cemetery in
Santa Fe, N.M. under the direction of Berardnelli Mortuary, Inc., of Santa
Fe. Local arrangements were made through Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home
of Stilwell.
SANDERS
Woodrow SANDERS, son of Monroe SANDERS and Katie STARR SANDERS was born on
Feb. 19, 1913 in Stilwell, Okla., and departed this life into eternity on
Feb. 10, 1998 at St. Edward's Hospital in Ft. Smith, Ark., at the age of
84 years, 11 months and 21 days. Woodrow is preceded in death by his parents;
one son, Olen D. SANDERS; and three brothers, Harris, Charley and Tobe SANDERS.
He is survived by: one son, Dale; one daughter, Barbara; one grandson, Tommy
Dale; three granddaughters, Deanna, Gail and Dianna; two great-grandchildren,
Demi and Lea, all of Okla.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 13, at the Salem Baptist Church with
Brother Lawrence EAGLE officiating. Interment was at the Salem Cemetery under
the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.

PRITCHETT
Funeral services for Dennis PRITCHETT, 74, of Tahlequah, will be held Friday,
Feb. 17, at 2:00 in Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D.J. McCarter and
Rev. Jess French officiating. Interment will follow in Pumpkin Hollow Cemetery
under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Joseph PRITCHETT, Daniel PRITCHETT, Darrell
WILSON, Sam WILSON, Todd CARSON and Vincent SCRAPER. Honorary pallbearers
will be : Sammy PRITCHETT, Steven PRITCHETT, Johnny PRITCHETT, Edward CASTILLO,
Darren DRYWATER, Jose GARCIA and Kevin VANN.
Dennis was born Aug. 23, 1924 in Adair County, Oklahoma, the son of William
and Annie PUMPKIN PRITCHETT and died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998 in Tahlequah,
Okla. A welder with N.S.U for 23 years he retired in 1987. Dennis served
in the U.S. Navy and Air Force and was a member of V.F.W Post 135 and Cedar
Tree Baptist Church. He was married to Louise Towie PRITCHETT who preceded
him in death Dec. 18, 1987. Also preceding him in death were his parents:
five brothers, Mike, Rusty, Jim, Charley PRITCHETT and George REESE; three
sisters, Charlotte HOGSHOOTER, Nannie SANDS and Johnann DAVIS; and granddaughter
Rianna CASTILLO. Dennis is survived by: six daughters, Carolyn, Denise, Jolene,
LaDonna, Sharon and Karen; one son, Clayton; two stepsons, Darrell and Sam;
one brother Andrew, all of Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
URBANSKI
Funeral services for Frances Lorrain URBANSKI, 66, of Stilwell, were held
Sunday Feb. 15, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy Bingenheimer officiating.
Interment was in the Piney Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home
of Stilwell.
She was born March 12, 1931 in St. Croix Falls, Wisc. to Eugene PATRIN and
Adeline STILLMAN PATRIN. She died Thursday, Feb. 12, at Northwest Medical
Center in Springdale, Arl. She was a retired caterer. She was married to
Robert URBANSKI on Jan. 31, 1949 in St. Paul, Minn. she was a member of Peace
Lutheran church of Prairie Grove, the Stilwell Garden Club and the V.F.W
Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by: her husband, two sons, Frank of Minn. and Bartholomew
of N.C.; two daughters, Robin of Minn. and Carol of Okla.; 10 grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild; and six brothers and sisters.
FEATHER
Funeral services for Martha FEATHER, 70 of Tahlequah, will be held 2:00 Friday,
Feb. 27, at Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles DUVALL officiating.
Interment will follow in the Barber Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charley
HOLCOMB, Richard HOLCOMB, Henry HOLCOMB, Oley HOLCOMB and Joe HOLCOMB.
Mrs. FEATHER was born Oct. 27, 1927 in Barber, Okla., the daughter of Fogg
and Lizzie DOCTOR HOLMES, and she died Feb. 23, 1998 in Tulsa. Mrs. FEATHER
was reared and educated in Barber. Martha and her husband Raven had been
together since 1947. She was a member of the General Baptist Church in
Barber.
Mrs. FEATHER was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Raven on
Jan. 20, 1984; three sons; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors include: three daughters, Gracie, Retha and Faye, all of Okla.;
three sons, Sammy of Tenn., Randy and Joe of Okla.; four sisters; 21
grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
BEARPAW
Funeral services for Maybelle BEARPAW, 92, of Tahlequah, were to be held
Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. in Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Olaf PUCKETT
officiating. Interment was to follow in Echota Cemetery under the direction
of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Serving as Mrs. BEARPAW'S pallbearers will be: Raymond JONES, Stan JONES,
J.B. JONES, David J0NES, Willard OOSAHWEE and Anthony YOUNG.
Maybelle was born Nov. 22, 1905 in Stilwell, Indian Territory, the daughter
of George and Annie GRITTS HOGNER, and died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998 in Tahlequah,
Okla. A lifetime resident of the area, she was a homemaker and member of
the First Indian Baptist Church of Tahlequah. She was married to Stand WATIE
in 1923 in Stilwell, Okla. Mr. WATIE preceded her in death in 1978. Also
preceding her were her parents; three brothers, Ned, Floyd and Lloyd HOGNER;
one sister, Christine MANUS; and two sons, A.G. BEARPAW and Charles Wayne
BEARPAW.
Survivors include: five children, Virginia, Billie, Dennis, and Tom, all
of Okla. and Kathleen of Kansas; one sister, Betty of Calif.; 12 grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
ABBOTT
Robert Leo ABBOTT, son of Carmi George ABBOTT and Margaret Susan KEY, was
born Feb. 14, 1924 in Stilwell, Okla., and departed this life to be with
his wife Delores into eternity on Feb. 13, 1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell
at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 29 days.
Robert was a World War 11 veteran, having served in the United States Air
Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Delores; two brothers,
Jack and James ABBOTT; and two sisters, Roxanne and Etta.
He is survived by: one son, Robert of Ore.; two daughters, Barbara Jo of
Fla., and Betty of Wash.; two brothers, Fisher and Ted, both of Okla.; two
sisters, Peggy of Calif. and Sara of Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Bro. Wendel Ex officiating. Interment
followed at Tacoma, Wash.
TAYLOR
Graveside services for Tempy Louise TAYLOR, 91, of Westville, were held Tuesday,
Feb. 24, at Westville City Cemetery with Rev. Loren WELCH officiating. Interment
was under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
She was born Aug. 6, 1906 in Tennessee to Walter F. and Lula C. SUMMERS.
She died Friday, Feb. 20, at Westville Nursing Home. She was married to Samuel
S. TAYLOR, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1969. She was a homemaker and
was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel S. TAYLOR,
Jr. There are no survivors.
COLLINS
Troy COLLINS, 85, of Buffalo Valley, Okla., was born April 10, 1912, at Gore,
Okla., to James D. and Letha MEEKS COLLINS. He passed away Jan. 28, 1998,
at McAlester Regional Medical Center, McAlester, Okla.
He had been a resident of the Buffalo Valley area for the past 15 years.
He was a self-employed farmer/contractor until retirement in 1963. He was
married to Bessie AUSTIN on June 18, 1937 at Miami, Okla. He was of the
Pentecostal faith. His family was the love of his life. He was preceded in
death by a son, Stanford Troy COLLINS, and a daughter, Betty Kay ROWLAND.
Survivors include: his wife, Bessie; two sons, John and James; a daughter,
Letha; and a sister, Ruby, all of Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 43
great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
GUTHRIE
Wendell Eugene GUTHRIE, son of Vick GUTHRIE and Donabelle SMITH GUTHRIE,
was born Feb. 22, 1941 in Prairie Grove, Ark., and departed this life at
his home in Westville on Feb. 12, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer
at the age of 56 years, 11 months and 30 days.
He and Beverly MULLIN were married on April 27, 1981. He was a member of
the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Westville for many years.
Gene is survived by: his loving wife, Beverly of the home; his parents, Vick
and Donnabelle of Okla.; two daughters, Belinda of Tennessee and Sherry of
Okla.; two sons Ricky Gene and Jeff, both of Okla; one brother, Doyle of
Okla; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel
in Westville with Bro. Audie Vaughn and Bro. Terry Greene of Kansas City,
No., officiating. Interment followed at the Westville City Cemetery.
HAYS
Memorial services for William P. HAYS were held Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998 at
the Westville City Cemetery by friends.
He was born Feb. 11, 1929 in Westville, Okla., and departed this life on
Dec. 14, 1997 in New York, N.Y. He was a graduate of the Uniersity of Arkansas,
Fayetteville, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothea of N.Y., special friends Greg and JoAnn
of Okla., and a host of other friends and loved ones.
Mr. Hays' creamation remains were buried in the Westville City Cemetery,
under the direction of Hart Funeral Home, Westville.
