JOHNSON
Andrew JOHNSON, 29, Burbank, Calif., died April 6 in Los Angeles. Services
were held April 10, at the Pierce Brothers Little Country Chapel in North
Hollywood with Rev. Buddy MANAHAN officiating. Interment was in the Valhalla
Memorial Park, North Hollowood. He was born February 14, 1963 in Los Angeles
to Michael and Mary Ruth GOURD JOHNSON.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Mary and James GREYCLOUD, Burbank;
one brother, Mickey, of Ohio; one sister, Germaine, of Calif.; two nephews
and a niece.
JUMPER
Jack E. JUMPER, 62, died May 2. Services were held May 5, in the Reed-Culver
Chapel with Rev. Charley CAREY officiating. Interment was in the Long Springs
Cemetery. He was born January 28, 1930 in Cherokee County to Nick and
Narine BUCKHORN JUMPER. He had been a life-long resident, working with heavy
equipment. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam
Wars.
Survivors include two sons, Jackie and Matthew; four daughters, Mary, Barbara,
Dianna and Ruby; adopted daughter, Marille; and a sister, Ruby, all of Okla.;
17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and two adopted grandchildren.
MCCARTER
Jimmy Dean MCCARTER, 27, died May 3. Services were May 6, in the Reed-Culver
Chapel with Rev. Ellis FOSTER officiating. Interment was in the Manus Cemetery.
He was born January 23, 1956, in Tahlequah to Cicero and Joyce Ann
SMITH MCCARTER. He attended school at Oaks Mission and graduated from a high
school in Arizona. He also attended the Bill Willis Training
Center.
Survivors include his father Cicero; three sisters, Carlene, of Okla., Gloria
of Calif., and Reginia; two brothers, Martin and Darrell, both of Okla.;
three uncles, Lee, Bill and George, all of Okla.; two aunts, Virginia and
Anges, both of Okla.
JOHNSON
Sarah Jane JOHNSON, 45, died May 11. Services were held May 14, at the Mulberry
Tree Baptist Church with Revs. Gil HOOPER and Clayton BOLIN officiating.
Interment was in the Mulberry Cemetery. She was born August 25, 1946, in
Adair County, to Raymond and Josie BLACKBIRD CHEWEY. She lived most of her
life in the Stilwell area. She and Nick JOHNSON were married in 1966. She
was the librarian at Peavine Elementary, a member of the Mulberry Tree Baptist
Church, active in 4-H, P.T.A. and Christian Children's Fund.
Survivors include her husband, Nick of the home; two sons, Darryl and Stanley
of the home; two daughters, Sherry and Stephanie, both of Okla.; two brothers,
John and Joe, both of Okla.; and one granddaughter.
BUTLER
Laura Quinton BUTLER, 74, died May 9. Services were held at the Guardian
Mid Town Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. Interment was in the Tahlequah City
Cemetery. She was born June 15, 1917, in Sequoyah County to David W.
QUINTON and Lucy GLASS QUINTON. Before retiring, Laura had worked for the
B.I.A., the Corps of Engineers in Ft. Worth, Texas, Internal Revenue and
Interior Departments in Washington, D.C. Before her illness she was active
in the Oklahoma City Indian Club Soroity and the Mayfair Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her husband Frank of the home; one son, Joey of the home;
three sisters, Cherry and Ola of Okla., and Emma of Calif.; and nieces and
nephews.
