GANN
Funeral services for Bennie Gann were held Friday, July 31, at the Hart Memorial
Chapel in Stilwell. Interment was in the Chulio Cemetery under the direction
of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
Bennie was born June 8, 1953 in Tahlequah, Okla., to John E. Gann and Lizzie
(Sawney) Gann. He departed this life July 27, 1998 in Tulsa, Okla. at the
age of 45 years, 1 month and 19 days.
He was married to Lena Duncan on July 27, 1987 in Stilwell.
He was preceded in death by: his father, John E. Gann; his paternal grandparents,
Joe and Kate Gann; his maternal grandparents, Jim L. and Rachel (Springwater)
Sawney; an infant sister and an infant brother.
Bennie is survived by: his wife Lena, one son, Stormy Gann, and one daughter,
Breezy Gann, his stepfather and mother, Louie and Lizzie (Sawney) Weavel;
four brothers, Bob, Joe, Mark and Ruth; three sisters, Peggy, LaDonna , and
Heather; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
RICH
Nancy Edna Rich, daughter of George W. (Bud) Watson and Tempy J. (Young)
Watson, was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Swain, Ark., and departed this life to
be with her Lord on July 28, 1998 in Stilwell, Okla. at the age of 70 years,
7 months and 20 days.
She and Zerl Rich were married on April 24, 1944.
She is survived by: her husband, Zerl Rich, of the home in Stilwell; one
sister, Opal Eversol of Calif.; two brothers, Walter W. Watson, Ark. and
Arvil Watson of La.; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many,
many friends.
Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell. Interment at the Rich Cemetery in Watson,
Ark., under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
EDDINGS
Robert Lee Dale (L.D.) Eddings, son of Robert Lee Eddings and Ruby (Thomas)
Eddings, was born May 22, 1932 in Stilwell, Okla., and departed this life
on July 29, 1998 at his home near Tahlequah at the age of 66 years, 2 months
and 6 days. He was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, J.C.
Eddings, in 1979.
He is survived by: one sister, Jewell Perkins; one brother, Fred Stallard;
sister-in-law Juanita Eddings; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Private graveside services were held Friday, July 31, at the Honey Hill Cemetery
under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.
MORRIS
Funeral services for Ruby Mae Morris were held Sunday, Aug. 2, in the Old
Baptist Mission Church. Interment followed in the Old Baptist Mission Cemetery
under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Ruby was born Dec. 25, 1921 in Blountstown, Fla. to Robert and Lilla (Pierce)
Flanders. She departed this life July 29, 1998 in Miami, Fla. at the age
of 76 years, 7 months and 4 days.
She married Lloyd Morris of Westville, in November of 1941 in Tallahassee,
Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Arthur Flanders;
and one sister, Audrey Durham.
Ruby is survived by: her husband, Lloyd Morris of Miami, Fla.; two sons ,
Glen and Don; one sister , Artie; one brother, Eldridge Flanders of Fla.;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
HOWARD
Graveside services for Stella Mae Howard were held Monday, Aug. 3, at the
Stilwell City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral
Home of Stilwell.
Stella was born Dec. 25, 1928 in Adair County, Okla. to John Pettit and Pearl
(Pack) Pettit. She departed this life July 30, 1998 in Sallisaw, Okla. at
the age of 69 years, 7 months and 5 days.
She was married to Hubert Howard. She was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband, and one son, James Howard.
Stella is survived by: four sons, Hubert, Jr., Carl and Daniel Howard, and
Clifton Howard; one daughter, Pearl, La.; one sister, Lillie McDonald , OK.;
two brothers, George Pettit of Ariz., and Johnny Edwards of Okla.; eight
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other
relatives, loved ones and friends.

EAGLETON
William Edgar EAGLETON, 82, passed away Aug. 7, 1998, at the St. Francis
Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born Dec. 14, 1915, at Coffeyville, Kansas, the son of Willie and
Laura Belle ALLISON EAGLETON. He has been a resident of Bushton, Kansas,
since 1984, formerly of Stilwell, Okla. and Lawrence, Kansas. On Nov. 6,
1953, he married Irma HILLMAN IRELAND at Lawrence. She survives him.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Wilma and Shirley; a half-brother,
Robert; two sisters, Virginia and Edith; 19 grandchildren; 35
great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by two sons, Billy IRELAND and Clifford IRELAND; two sisters, Florence
SHELL and Edna EAGLETON; and one grandson, Michael YOUNG.
Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at the Bushton Cemetery with
Rev. Priscilla Davies officiating. Memorials are requested to be sent to
the Claflin Ambulance Fund or the Bushton First Responders.
WACKER
Clarence W. "Clary" WACKER, son of Louis WACKER and Mamie THELEN WACKER,
was born May 12, 1930 in West Allis, Wis. and departed this life Aug. 6,
1998 at his home in Milwaukee, Wis. at the age of 68 years, 2 months and
34 days.
Clarence was married to Frances Elaine KETCHER and from this union were born
six children: Michael, James, Gregory, Wayne, Matthew and Claire. He was
preceded in death by both parents and wife Frances in 1996.
He is survived by: five sons, Michael, James, Gregory, Wayne and Matthew;
one daughter, Claire; two grandchildren, Clark and Anastasia.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 8, in Milwaukee, Wis. Interment
services were held Tuesday, Aug. 11, in the Ketcher Cemetery under the direction
of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.
ROSS
James Henry ROSS, son of Tom ROSS and Nettie CATON ROSS, was born April 13,
1933 in Stilwell, Okla., and departed this life into eternity on Aug. 8,
1998 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 65 years,
3 months and 35 days.
James was a lifelong resident of the Adair County area. He served in the
United States Army and Army reserve for six years from 1955-61. He was preceded
in death by: his father, Tom ROSS; two brothers, Jess and Rufus ROSS; and
one sister, Rosie HOLLAND.
He is survived by: his mother, Nettie; four sons, James Allen, Brian, Douglas
Wade, and Danny; four daughters, Aneeta, Debbie, Laura Faye, Donna; four
brothers, Bill, Emmett, Charles and Albert; three sisters, Martha, Juanita
and Katheryn; five great-grandchildren;
Funeral services were held Aug. 11 at the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home
Chapel with Bro. Leon Brashear and Bro. Rick Ritter officiating. Interment
followed at the Elm Grove Cemetery.
HOLMES
Joanna Marie HOLMES was born May 5, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., to Joe and
Molly PERSHICA. She departed this life Aug. 8, 1998, at the age of 46. She
married James Ralph HOLMES May 30, 1972, in Fountain County. Joanna lived
in Westville for 14 years and was a member of the First Indian Baptist
Church.
Joanna was preceded in death by her father, Joe PERSHICA. She is survived
by her husband, James Ralph; her mother, Molly; two children, John of Ark.
and Scott; two sisters, Mary and Cindy; and two brothers, Paul and Thomas.
Funeral services were held Aug. 11 at Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Rex Vann officiating. Interment followed in Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
COLEMAN
Mildred T. COLEMAN, 81, died Thursday evening, July 30, 1998 at Hillcrest
Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
She was born July 10, 1917 in Lowrey, Okla. to George A. and Effie FRANKLIN
HUGHES. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
in Tulsa. Mildred married Glenn P. COLEMAN in Tulsa, Okla. in 1950.
She is survived by: son Richard and granddaughter Barbara; daughter Judith
and grandchildren Graham, Mary, Ted, Sam, Julie and Luke; sisters, Gretchen,
Savola and Wanda.
Services were held Aug. 3 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel in Tulsa.
REYNAGA
Nancy Elaine BUNCH REYNAGA was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Tahlequah, Okla., to
Ben and Oleta BLACKBIRD BUNCH. She departed this life Aug. 7, 1998 in Stilwell,
Okla., at the age of 35 years, 7 months and 9 days. She was married to Atanasio
REYNAGA on Nov. 22, 1982. Nancy was a store clerk and was of the Baptist
faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Oleta BUNCH.
Nancy is survived by: her husband, Antanasio and daughter Shanava Jolene;
two sisters, Karen Sue and Genia Lynn; four brothers, Bennie Ray, and Ronald
Eugene, Ben Jr. and Robert;
Emanuel REYNAGA was born July 18, 1989 in Tahlequah, Okla. to Atanasio and
Nancy BUNCH REYNAGA. He departed this life Aug. 7, 1998 in Stilwell, OKla.
at the age of 9 years and 20 days. He attended Greasy School. He was preceded
in death by his grandparents, Ben and Oleta BUNCH.
Emanuel is survived by: his father, Atanasio and his sister, Shanava Jolene;
his paternal grandparents, Ceferino and Flora;
Funeral services for Nancy and Emanuel were held Monday, Aug. 10, at the
Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Raymond Glass officiating. Interment followed
in the Chuculate Cemetery.
REYELTS
Mundwiler Funeral Home of Milbank, S.D., announces the death of Neil REYELTS,
age 50, of Stilwell, Okla., a former Wilmot, S.D., resident. Neil REYELTS
died July 25, in Stilwell as a result of a downing accident. Funeral services
were held Thursday, July 30, in the Wilmot Lutheran Church. Rev. Nancy Kauppi
officiated and interment was in the Wilmot Lutheran Cemetery.
Neil Allen REYELTS was born Feb. 17, 1948 at Milbank, S.D., the son of William
and Doris SANDBAKKEN REYELTS. He attended rural schools in Springdale Township,
Roberts County, S.D. He lived on the family farm in Roberts County and enjoyed
raising and showing cattle. He was united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1971 at
Wilmot with Sandra CARLSON. He served in the National Guard from 1966-72.
Neil worked as a cattle buyer and in 1983 moved to Jay, Okla. In 1987 he
moved to Stilwell. He was a member of the Wilmot Lutheran Church and had
been baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Neil is survived by: his mother, Doris of S.D; two daughters, Dawn and Diane;
one grandson, Jacob; five brothers, Gerald , Dennis, David, Richard , and
Rick;
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister. The Mundwiler Funeral
Home of Milbank, S.D., was in charge of the arrangements.
SULLINS
William "Bill" J. SULLINS was born May 3, 1938 in Harlingen, Texas, to Jesse
Edward SULLINS and Norma Lee POWERS SULLINS. He departed this life Aug. 4,
1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of 60 years, 3 months and
1 day.
He served in the Marines from 1957 to 1963. He was a police officer for the
Stilwell Police Department and a security guard for Tyson Foods. He was preceded
in death by: his parents, Jesse and Norma SULLINS; an infant son, William
Jesse SULLINS, Jr.; and one sister Maymie PENFIELD DEVORE.
Bill is survived by: three daughters, Billie, Nancy and Glenda; seven sisters,
Glenda, Temmie, Geraldine, Ozelma, Louise and Joy, and Hazel; five brothers,
Edward, Jimmy and Ray, and Dale and Lester; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson;
58 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Aug. 7 at the Hart Memorial Chapel with Mr. Larry
Hatfield officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery.

CRAWFORD
1st Lt. Raymond Martin CRAWFORD, U.S.M.C., retired, 75 of Evansville, Ark.,
died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998 at Washington Regional Medical Center
He was born April 26, 1923 at Blytheville, Ark., the son of Ira and Ruth
BARBER CRAWFORD. Raymond retired in Evansville after serving 30 years in
the Marine Corps with the 1st and 3rd Marine Corps Division. His tours of
duty included the Atlantic Campaign during World War 11, the Korean Conflict
and the Vietnam Campaign. Some of Raymond's medals and commendations include
the Presidental Unit Citation, Victory Medal World War 11, U.N. Service Medal,
Korean Presidental Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Meritorious
Unit Citation Cross of Gallantry. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife
of 46 hears, Hilda GOLDMAN CRAWFORD, and a son, Robert; his parents; his
sister Dorothy EUBANKS, and a nephew Dan EUBANKS, both of Blytheville.
Survivors include: a daughter, Ruth Ann; a son, Richard; two sisters, Gail
, and Sandy ; two nephews, Bob , and Jim.
Funeral services were to be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, with Tim Giles
officiating, at Evansville Community Church. Interment was to be at Lewis
Cemetery near Evansville, Ark. under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home
of Van Buren, Ark.
BAYS
Claude Mathew BAYS, son of Ira BAYS and Ina MCNEECE BAYS, was born Oct. 6,
1921 in Barton County, Mo., and departed this life into eternity on Aug.
10, 1998 at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. at the age
of 76 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Claude was married to Harriet Ann COBLE on Dec. 7, 1963 in Reno, Nev. Claude
enlisted in the United States Army in August 1942. He participated in the
following campaigns -- Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Central Europe
and Rhineland. He was awarded five Bronze Stars for the above campaigns and
also received the Good Conduct Medal.
He was preceded in death by: both parents; three brothers, Paul, George and
Chester BAYS; and one sister Dolly LEWALLEN.
He is survived by: his wife Harriet, one daughter, Claudia; one sister Ethe;
one brother, Charles of Calif.; four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 13, 8n the Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Cothren officiating. Interment followed
at the Honey Hill Cemetery.
ENGLAND
Lizzie ENGLAND, daughter of Stan HUMMINGBIRD, Sr. and Lula JOHNSON HUMMINGBIRD,
was born Aug. 24, 1915 in Stilwell, Okla. and departed this life to be with
her Lord on Aug. 14, 1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell at the age of
82 years, 11 months and 20 days.
Lizzie was married to Alex ENGLAND in 1935 in Stilwell, and from this union
were born three children: Alfred, Eugene and William Ray. She was a long-time
member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Peavine and was of the Baptist faith.
Lizzie was preceded in death by: both parents; husband Alex ENGLAND in 1997;
and two sons, Eugene and William Ray ENGLAND.
She is survived by: one son, Alfred; two grandsons, Charles and Ronnie; one
great-grandson, Nicholas; three sisters, Nanny, Lila and Betty; three brothers,
Johnnie Sr., Jake and Stan.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 17, at the Antioch Baptist Church
in Peavine with Rev. John Gonzales and Sam England officiating. Interment
followed at the England Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home of Stilwell.
URICH
Marion George URICH, son of George Rudolph URICH and Millie MARTIN URICH,
was born Oct. 29, 1927 in Boynton, Okla. and departed this life into eternity
Aug. 8, 1998 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Marion's first marriage was to Doris Dean HUDSON, and from this union were
born two children: Michael and Ricky Alan. He was later married to his second
wife Sidni, who preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by both parents
and second wife Sidni.
He is survived by: two sons, Michael, and Ricky; one brother N.A.; two
granddaughters.
Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, Aug, 13, at the Baptist Mission
Cemetery with Bro. Marion Graves of Muskogee officiating, under the direction
of Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.
LONG
Michael Pierce LONG, son of John William LONG and Louie Mae TEAGUE LONG,
was born July 29, 1913 in Protem, Mo., and departed this life into eternity
Aug. 12, 1998 at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell, Okla., at the age of 85 years
and 13 days.
Michael was married to Clara Faye BARNES on March 27, 1934 in Newkirk, Okla.,
and from this union were born three children: Raymond Gene, Glenda Jo and
Joni. Michael was a farmer most of his life. He also served as a police officer
and a shriff's deputy. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Clara
Faye; five brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandson, Tony OSTERHAUT.
He is survived by: two sons, Raymond Gene and Jim; two daughters, Glenda
Jo and Joni; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.
Graveside funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 14, at the Stilwell City
Cemetery with Rev. Neal Dillard of Welling officiating, under the direction
of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Stilwell.
DOWNING
Funeral services for Ned DOWNING were held Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Hart
Memorial Chapel in Westville with Dr. Dwayne Conner officiating. Interment
followed in the Downing Cemetery.
Ned was born April 23, 1926 in Baron, Okla. to Alex DOWNING and Susie GAULTNEY
DOWNING. He departed this life Aug. 11, 1998 at St. David's Hospital in Austin,
Texas, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 15 days.
Ned joined the military at the age of 17 and retired from the Air Force.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Alex and Susie DOWNING; one brother,
Clem DOWNING; and one sister Nina BOLES.
Ned is survived by: his wife Rache; one son Ned; one daughter Diana; two
sisters, Jane and Isabel; two grandchildren

FISHINGHAWK
Jesse FISHINGHAWK, son of Dawes FISHINGHAWK and Sallie SCOTT FISHINGHAWK,
was born June 29, 1929 in Tahlequah, Okla., and departed from this life into
eternity on Aug. 24, 1998 at his home in Stilwell at the age of 69 years,
1 month and 25 days.
He was married to Ann Louise LITTLEHEAD in 1953 and from this union six children
were born. He was preceded in death by: his father; wife Ann Louise in 1971;
one infant son; and on grandchild.
He is survived by: two sons, Jesse of Okla., and Curtis of N.Y.; three daughters,
Kathy and Dorothy of Mo., and Linda Sue of N.Y.; mother Sallie of Okla.;
four brothers, Houston, Robert, Tom and Lester, all of Okla.; three sisters,
Becky, Susie and Sara, all of Stilwell; 20 grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many
friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield
Baptist Church with interment following in the Fairfield Cemetery under the
direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
RANK
Graveside services for Audrey Lorraine CORNTASSEL LANGLEY RANK were held
Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Ketcher Cemetery in Westville with Rev. Claude McGee
officiating. Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of
Westville.
Audrey was born July 27, 1923 near Westville, Okla., to John F. and Zora
E. HASTINGS CORNTASSEL. She passed from this life Aug. 19, 1998 at the Westville
Nursing Home at the age of 75 years and 22 days. Audrey was married to Jesse
R. W. LANGLEY on Feb. 6, 1941 in Watts, Okla. To this union were born two
daughters, Thelma Joyce and Florence, and four sons, Bill, Robert B., Arnold
L. and Richard R. Jesse passed away Feb. 5, 1967 after 25 years of marriage.
Audrey was a widow for several years before remarrying. She married Walter
RANK on Nov. 7, 1977 in Madison County, Ark., Walter passed away in April
of 1987. She has been a widow since his passing.
Audrey leaves behind to mourn her passing; two daughters, Thelma Joyce of
Okla., and Florence of Nev.; four sons, Bill and Arnold of Okla., and Robert
and Richard of Calif.; one brother, John of Calif.; one sister, Gladys of
Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grtandchildren; a host of friends and
other relatives.
NUTTER
Graveside services for Charles Clayton NUTTER were held Sunday, Aug. 23,
at the Row Cemetery in Colcord, Okla., with Rev. Hurley Holcombe officiating.
Services were under the direction of Hart Funeral Home of Westville.
Charles was born March 14, 1904 in Stilwell, Okla., to William and Anne PATTON
NUTTER. He passed from this life Aug. 22, 1998 at the Siloam Springs Hospital
at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 8 days. Charles was married to Opal
POTTER on Feb.9, 1952 and a retired railroad worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Anne NUTTER, his wife,
Opal POTTER NUTTER, and two sisters. Charles is survived by his son Joseph
of Okla.
WILHITE
Donna Lynn WILHITE, daughter of Leroy MURRAY and Opal May SUTPHIN MURRAY,
was born May 21, 1953 in Columbus, Kansas, and departed this life to be with
her Lord on Aug. 21, 1998 in Stilwell, Okla., at the age of 45 years and
3 months.
Donna was the fifth of seven children born to Leroy and Opal. She married
Delbert WILHITE on Sept. 5, 1975 in Stilwell, Okla., and from this union
were born two sons; Eddie and Derrick.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy MURRAY, and on brother, Leroy
"Buddy" MURRAY.
She is survived by: her husband, Delbert WILHITE of the home; two sons, Eddie
and Derrick, both of Okla.; one grandson, Cody Land of Okla.; her mother
Opal of Kansas; two brothers, William and Allen of Kansas; three sisters,
Ethel of Fla., Linda of Hawaii, and Jackie of Okla.; a host of nieces, nephews,
other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. at the
Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel in Stilwell with Rev. Bobby Cothren
and Rev. Jerry Wayne Gatewood officiating. Interment was to follow at the
Honey Hill Cemetery.
WILLIAMS
Harold WILLIAMS, son of Haskell J. and Irene MCCULLY WILLIAMS, was born June
30, 1940 in Stilwell, Okla. He passed from this life on Aug. 21, 1998 at
the Tulsa Regional Medical Center, at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 21
days. Harold was preceded in death by his father, Haskell J. WILLIAMS, Sr.
in May of this year.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara of the home; three daughters, Carla
and Brenda of Mo., and Teresa of Okla.; three stepchidren, Dani, Thomas and
James, all of Ark.; two grandchildren Chasity and Jackie Dale of Mo.; five
stepgrandchildren, Lucas, Jacob, Madison, Carissa and Ashtyn, all of Ark.,
and Makayla of Okla.; his mother, Irene of Okla.; three brothers, Haskell
and Harley of Okla., and Harvey of Texas; three sisters, Juna and Rena of
Okla., and Glenda of Mo.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Aug 25, in the Stilwell City Cemetery.
Rev. Thomas Still officiated, under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home of Stilwell.
KEYS
Jackie Lee KEYS, son of Charles KEYS and Sarah BRIGGS KEYS, was born Aug.
3, 1939 and departed this life on Aug. 24, 1998 at W.W. Hastings Hospital
in Tahlequah, Okla. at the age of 59 years and 20 days.
Jackie was preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Clealus LEE.
He is survived by: two sisters, Joanna of Calif. and Patsy of Tahlequah;
two nieces, six nephews and a host of relatives and many, many friends.
Graveside funeral services are planned at the Stilwell City Cemetery Thursday
morning of this week. Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver
Funeral Home of Stilwell.
PHILPOTT
John Lewis PHILPOTT was born Dec. 5, 1936 and went to be with the Lord on
July 15, 1998. He was born in Tahlequah, Okla., to James Robert and Leonia
PHILPOT.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobbie Lee and James
Paul and baby brother Robert Henry; and two sisters, Edith Marie and Pearly
Mae SHEPHERD.
He is survived by: his wife, Gloria; one son, Randell; a daughter, Susann;
three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, and seven
sisters, Mamie, Rosie, Betty, Florence, Lorene, Mickie and Ruthie, all of
Okla.; two brothers, Lawrence of Ark. and Bill of Okla.
Graveside services were held in Broken Arrow, Okla.
HOLCOMB
Funeral services for Richard Ray HOLCOMB, 58 of Vian, were held Tuesday,
Aug. 25, at the Reed-Culver Chapel of Tahlequah with Rev. Crosslin Smith
and Rev. Virgil Holcomb officiating. Interment followed in the Caney Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dewey Catron, Ronnie Goff, Leroy Webber, Richard Dirtseller,
Larry Webber, and Joe Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Lamond Weese and Timothy
D. Weese
Mr. HOLCOMB was born Dec. 25, 1939 in Welling, Okla., the son of Johnson
Richard and Eliza PIGEON HOLCOMB, and he died Aug. 21, 1998 in Vian. Mr.
HOLCOMB married Mary Alice SANDS in 1978 and to this union six children were
born. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Jeff HOLCOMB;
and one son, Dale Ray HOLCOMB.
Survivors include: two sons, Ray Dean and Don; three daughters, Sarah, Rita
Jo and Denisa Gail; four brothers, Charley, Henry, Oly and Joe; three sisters,
Betty, Mamie and Annie, all of Okla.; eight grandchildren; and many nieces,
nephews, other relatives, as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
