BERTLING, Cora Mae (1926) Orr, Love County, Ok
Cora Mae BERTLING was born approx. 1926 in Littlefield, Texas. Her mother Elva died when she was three months old. Cora's maternal grandfather, Jim ROLLINS, took her back to OK with him. Elva's brother was Ed. We believe they may have lived in Orr or Tipton. My grandfather never saw her again. She has half-brothers and half-sisters that would like to meet her. Thanks for your help.

I am searching for information on the Adams family, who possibly lived at Orr in the early 1900's. My great-grandfather's name was John Edward Adams, his wife's name was Lucie Jane BOWMAN. They had several children, among them Mary Susan, Emma, Thomas, and Ida. I think there was another sister, Johnnie, or Joanna. I do know that Ida lived at Orr with her husband, John Wallace. Any information would be appreciated.

Looking for ARTHUR, J. Amanda b. 1833 in TN, d. 1895 in OK. Know that she lived in Leon area from early 1880's till 1890. May have been in the area till 1895. Husband died in MO in 1867. She may have remarried. Dau. Malinda Allie ARTHUR marr. Lemuel P. KENNEDY in Nov 1883, in Leon. They moved to Cleveland Co., OK in 1890. Do not know if Amanda had any more children in the area. Elijah W.) born 1874, Robert H. born 1876, and John W., born 1879. The were in Tarrant Co. (Ft. Worth) Texas in 1880, and in Jimtown, Love Co., OK, in 1890. Would like any info on the family, or to be put in touch with any descendants. Lots of info to share. John, the father, is son of Elijah W. ROBERTS and Nancy (VILES) ROBERTS. Looking for information surrounding the circumstances of Alfred Richard Graham's death on June 8, 1896 in Orr, OK. I've heard he was shot. He was young, only 26. He is buried in Crow Cemetery. DAVIS, Tandy Walker (1870) Near Jim Town
Seeking information on Tandy Walker DAVIS whose child Emma (DAVIS) POTES was born about 1872 near Jim Town. An older brother to Emma was John T. DAVIS. The mother of the children died and Tandy married her sister and fathered a third child, Charles Wesley DAVIS, my grandfather. They were living near Healdton when Tandy died in the 1880's. I don't know Tandy's birthdate or where he is buried, the name of either of his wives, the name of any of his siblings, or the name of his parents.

I am looking for any information about my family, Minnie L PRESLEY married Jeff SMITH 1892 in Marrietta, Okla. Jeff SMITH was born on an Indian Reservation near Marrietta Indian territory, he was of the Osage Tribe. Minnie and Jeff had three children. Harry Scott SMITH-born 1893 Marrietta Okla. Robert David SMITH-born 1897 Marrietta Okla. Bulah Elizabeth SMITH-born Aug. 12 1906. Minnie SMITH was admitted to a hospital Dec. 16,1909. Jeff SMITH and the two boys were never heard from again. Last known the boys were registered at Childress School system 1908-1909 (maybe in Temple TX). It is thought that maybe they returned to this area. Please and documents or any information you can find will be so deeply appreciated to me and my family. I would like to someday be apart of my Native American heritage.

Then he moved back and forth to TEXAS and by 1997 was residing in Eastland CO., Texas. I understand from family sources that Joasi E. METCALF and their oldest daughter Minnie REYNOLDS passed away at Atlee, OK..

Seeking info. on Andrew Jackson BROWN, info. is so slight on history of Andrew. His father is William W. BROWN buried Burneyville, died oct. 1901, his mother is Edith E. died july 1898 buried Ardmore (IT). Andrews 2nd wife Emma A. BARBEE, 1st husband was a Charles Clyde PHILLIPS, who died and left her a widow with 6 children, Andrew and Emma had 4 children 1. Cecil born Pike, (IT) 1909 2. Bessie M. born Pike (IT) 1911 3. Cleo born Denison, Grayson Co. 1914. the family removed to Calif in 1917. Andrews 1st wifes name was Nellie and had a dau. named Edith S. that died at 5 years of age. where and when, all unknown..Pike died and is listed as a ghost town of Love Co. any help or guidence as I am unable to come to Ok. and do look ups in courthouses and countyseats.

Seeking info. on William W. BROWN and wife Edith E.. William W. was born 14 dec. 1830 Lawrence Co. Ky. died 13 oct. 1901 and is buried Burneyville,Ok. Edith E. b. 29 may 1834 d. 26 July 1898 and is buried Ardmore (IT). I would like to know of any history of William W. and Edith E. in Ok. after removing from KY. in the late 1860s, any records, newspaper arts. etc. a family bible entry says William W. date of death and " he is buried in the box" I have learned there is a Box cem. in Love co. maybe Burneyville?. Is there a cem. list for Box cem.? Any help or guidence would be of much help. William W. served with the 5th mounted Inf. CSA of the Orphan Brigade of KY. These our my GGPs.

RUSHING, David (1917) Marsden, Love County, OK
David RUSHING and Nancy Jane (CLOER) RUSHING sold their farm a few miles west of Marsden in Love County in the fall of 1916. David deceased 02-19-1917 and could possibly be in Gordon Cemetery (now abandoned), which is about 2 miles southwest of Marsden. Does anyone have any information on this Gordon Cemetery. PRIEST, James M. (1879) Marietta, Love County, OK
I recently obtained a copy of the 1940 Application of my father's half-brother for a Social Security Number. In the application my uncle, Robert E. PRIEST, was shown as born in Marietta, Love County, OK, on 4 January 1879. His father was James M. PRIEST and his mother was Mary Lou BRAZIL. I don't know what happened to Mary Lou BRAZIL, but James M. PRIEST and his son were in Little River County, Arkansas, on 18 December 1893, when he married my grandmother. She died about 1891, leaving my father and two older brothers and apparently a still-born boy who was buried with her. On 17 August 1893 James M. PRIEST married a third time to Sarah Ann BRAZIL (same surname as his first wife)and on 18 December 1893, four months later, he turned my father and brothers over to a relative of my grandmother's to "clothe, raise, and care for."What became of him? When my cousins asked, all they were told was, "He has gone to fight the Indians." I am inclined to believe that he might have returned to Marietta hoping to make one of the land runs.I would be interested in any ideas anyone might have for research on my grandfather, who appears to have been an Intruder in Chickasw territory.

Looking for information on Harve Aaron Newman, he was born 11-28-1880. He died in Wichita County, TX in 7-29-1970. He was born in Thackerville, OK and married Virgie E. GARTRELL (born 9-8-1891). Interested in contacting any descendant of Hamilton Francis HUDSON, born 15 June 1867 @ Jefferson City, Missouri (son of Joseph C. and Mary Jane HUDSON, 1845-1924 and 1849-1923, respectively). Hamilton's siblings included Elmer, Arval, Lyle, Delbert, James, Sarah, and John. Hamilton married Sarah Amanda COLLIER (born 3 January 1869 @ Bowling Green or Murphysboro, Kentucky). Their family, which originally lived across the Red River at Collinsville, Texas, included Henry, Louvia, Beulah, Velva, Verney, Varney, Earl, and Dale (many later of OKC) Hamilton (died 21 March 1915) and "Mandy" (died 14 February 1914) are buried in or near Thackerville.
