Brady was located seven miles west of Wynnewood. The first building was a post office and store. Mr. Brady was the first postmaster in 1892. George Terrell was route carrier from Pauls Valley to Brady. Dock Carter was store operator and second postmaster. Mr. W. M. Odell was third postmaster in the same store as Carter. In 1900, A. J. Key was fourth postmaster and store operator and Mrs. Minnie Hickman was postmistress for one year in 1903. R. P. Baker was store operator and postmaster from 1904 to 1912. J. A. Roady bought Baker out in 1912 and operated the the store while Dr. M.E. Robberson, who came to Brady in 1905, took over the postmaster agency. Gertrude Roady Buce was postal clerk for Dr. Robberson for a short while and Grandmother Covington later took the position.
Dr. Robberson had his medical office in the general store at Brady. In 1919, Van Bales purchased the merchandise of the general store and along with the post office, moved one-half mile south to the main highway.
Tom Stewart operated the first gin at Brady in 1893. Charles Grant bought the gin from Stewart in 1900. The first gin was lost by fire in 1903. IN 1906, John Roady built the second gin and later sold to Poe.
The Brady School was laid out and organized between December 24, 1907 and January 11, 1908. The first meeting was January 11, 1908. County Superintendent at that time was Miss Pearl Bradfield. The first school board members were S.W. Adams, G. S. Brady, Clerk, and R .P. Baker. They had an enrollment of 171 students, 83 white males, 61 white females, 6 black males and 11 black females. On December 15, 1949 Brady School, District 26, was annexed to Wynnewood.

This is an old photo with my ggrandfathers name on the back: G W Raibourn I believe that is him on the
3rd row from the top just to the right of the door. The white-haired gentleman with the beard. He and my
ggrandmother, Lydia Ann lived in Brady. They had 2 children, Frank Mitchell who was killed about 1906 by
his best friend with an "unloaded gun". He had one son Delmer D. Raibourn who later served as a State
Representative. The second of GW and Lydia Ann's children was my grandmother Georgia Mae who later
married David Kelly Eppler son of John Virgil. They all lived in the Brady area for several years, and several
of the Eppler family are still there around Pauls Valley and Wynnewood. I hope someone can help
identify some of these folks and establish a time and place.

This pix looks to me like it was taken at the same building, but around to the side. The man in the suit
appears to be the same man near the center of the previous picture.
