Richard McPheeters officiating. Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, at Foster Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home in Fletcher. She died at her home in Cyril, Sunday morning, July 29, 2001 after a lengthly illness. She was born ot Ether Malachi and Mary Cruise on Nov. 15, 1915 in North View, Mo.. She lived in Kansas and Missouri as a child and moved to Seminole at age 15. She married Cecil Hicks and livd in Elmore City from 1954 until moving to Cyril in 1993. She taught Sunday School many years and played the piano for Sunday School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cyril and the Eastern Star. She is survived by two sons; Fred L. Hicks of Cyril, and Charles E. "Buddy" Hicks of Pernell; daughter, Coleen Childress of Oklahoma City; sister, Irene Cameron of Tulsa; brother, Bobby Cruise of Texarkana, Ark.; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb 18, 1982; parents; four brothers; one sister; and a grandson.
